Rep. Eric Swalwell stood in the well of the Senate on Wednesday to offer the House Democrats’ own interpretation of Donald Trump’s tweets as evidence of violent incitement. “It was his last chance to stop the peaceful transition of power,” the California Democrat declared, as he chronicled 18 days of Trump’s tweets that preceded the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. In essence, Swalwell told the senators sitting in judgement and the American public watching: Trust me, this is what the 45th president really meant.

Klein: Dems’ Next Plot Against Trump
With the Senate impeachment trial underway that is virtually certain to end in acquittal, the Democrats are already planning their next move against Donald Trump. They are looking to use an obscure clause in the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, written in the aftermath of the Civil War and aimed at disqualifying ex-Confederate rebels from public office, to bar Trump from holding any future public office. Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment allows for the disqualification of individuals from holding federal or state office who both previously (1) took an oath to support the U.S. Constitution as a federal or state government legislator or officer, and (2) then “shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

They have recounted the votes in Windham, New Hampshire and a funny pattern developed. Every Republican has shorted almost exactly 300 votes to every Republican candidate. I don’t believe it is a coincidence. The only thing we don’t know at this time is who is responsible for what apparently was an attempt to give a huge advantage to Democratic candidates. In-state contests 300 votes can swing an election. In this particular case all of the Republicans won even before the recount added hundreds of votes for the Republicans. But, in tighter races, it couold have made the difference. We don’t know if it was the software owned by Dominion Voting or by election officials in the county, . . .

A high-profile member of the World Health Organization’s recent “investigative” trip to Wuhan to uncover the origins of COVID-19 has accepted research grants from the Chinese Communist Party and runs a controversial U.S.-based organization which collaborates with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Peter Daszak’s ties to the Chinese Communist Party call into question the validity of his and the World Health Organization (WHO) investigative team which concluded that it is “extremely unlikely” COVID-19 came from a Chinese Communist Party lab. Their claims echo Chinese Communist Party narratives, and Daszak himself implored the world to not “rely” on U.S. intelligence for it is “wrong on many aspects” and “politically charged.”

Zeisloft: Calls to close CCP-funded Confucius Institutes grow louder. Here’s what’s fueling them.
A student-led, bipartisan nonprofit group is hitting the gas on its efforts to remove the Chinese government’s presence from American academia. The Athenai Institute, a nonprofit “dedicated to limiting the influence of the Chinese Communist Party on U.S. college campuses,” advocates for “free discussion of human rights abuses on campuses by pushing student governments and university administrations to close Confucius Institutes, disclose ties to authoritarian governments, and establish mechanisms and policies to prevent the Chinese regime and other authoritarian governments from encroaching on academic discourse.” Following the State Department’s formal determination that the Chinese government committed genocide by oppressing Uyghurs in Xinjiang province, the Athenai Institute released a statement calling for the removal of Confucius Institutes from American universities.
