NOTABLE QUOTES

Mark Tapson contributor to FrontPage Magazine: Is civilizational decline inevitable? If history is any measure, then yes. Only the kingdom of God lasts forever. The question before us now, though, is this: is America’s decline reversible?

Martin Cothran on the subject of wokeness: When everyone else becomes afraid to say what he thinks, the comedian is the last one standing to publicly defy oppression. This is a truth which the humorless proponents of political correctness are now having to deal with.

Glenn Greenwald exposes the CIA and NSA unconstitutional overreach into domestic political affairs: Involvement of the intelligence community in the domestic activities of U.S. citizens is one of the most dangerous breaches of civil liberties and democratic order the U.S. Government can perpetrate.

Julie Kelly contributor to American Thinker dresses down the Grand Old Party:
The U.S. government now holds political prisoners in jail in the nation’s capital, and the party that purports to stand for freedom, liberty, and rule of law refuses to defend them.

Brian C.Joondeph, MD contributor to American Thinker: As The Last Refuge points out, this is yet another of many potential terrorism-related mass shootings where the shooter is known to the FBI, yet they did nothing to prevent the shooting. If only the shooter were a garage door handle, then the FBI might have investigated seriously and might have actually preempted the mass casualty event.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò reflects on the relationship between COVID and the Great Reset: This crisis serves to create the conditions necessary to make the Great Reset inevitable, that is, the transition from the world based on Greco-Roman civilization and Christianity to a world without a soul, without roots, without ideals. In practice, it is the passage from the Kingdom of Christ to the Kingdom of the Antichrist

Kelly: Where is GOP Outrage Over Justice Department’s Capitol Probe?
The Obama-appointed judge, with those few sentences, said more to defend the rights of Trump-supporting protesters than the totality of Republican leadership in Washington, D.C.. Top Biden officials are accelerating the weaponization of powerful federal agencies against regular Americans who dared, not just to vote for Donald Trump, but also to doubt the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. The Justice Department’s Capitol breach probe, its official name, gives cover to inflict severe punishment for those verboten acts and beliefs. The same cabal that wielded its authority against the former president and his associates for more than four years has aimed its arsenal at hundreds of Trump supporters—yet the GOP remains silent. […] Early on, Republicans joined Democrats in overhyping the events of January 6. “This failed insurrection only underscores how crucial the task before us is for our republic,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) preached in a statement released that evening. “They tried to disrupt our democracy. They failed. They failed to attempt to obstruct the Congress.” […] Senator Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) insisted “those who made this attack on our government need to be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Well, Graham got his wish. And then some. […] . . . many Americans—more than 300 have been arrested so far with promises of more to come—face spurious accusations that are destroying their lives. Take, for example, the case of . . . […] But where is the outrage from Republican lawmakers in Washington, D.C.?

Salcedo: GOP Freshmen Stand Up to ‘Surrender Caucus’
If you needed a reminder that the swamp is alive and well, look no further than the recent vote by the House Republican Conference to bring pork-barrel spending back to Congress. Egged on, no doubt, by the special interests that fund their campaigns, 102 Republicans—who identify as conservatives when campaigning—just decided to undo one of the biggest accomplishments of the Tea Party era. Now, Senate Republicans are similarly considering a proposal to follow suit. If this isn’t a sign that Congressional Republicans need new leadership in Washington, I don’t know what is. The good news is that a new group of freshman Republicans who are taking Washington by storm may yet return fiscal sanity to their conference. Unlike D.C. swamp elites who care only about their interests and investments, these bold new leaders promise to serve as the conscience of a caucus that is adrift and hell-bent to normalize the deviancy of Democrats. Representatives like . . . […] The biased press fears these new Republican leaders, who are plainspoken like President Trump, because they disrupt the self-serving status quo of the majority of Washington.

Lendrum: Arkansas Governor Signs Bill Banning ‘Transgender’ Athletes from Competing in Women’s Sports
Hutchinson’s office released a statement addressing the new law, declaring that “this law simply says that female athletes should not have to compete in a sport against a student of the male sex when the sport is designed for women’s competition…I agree with the intention of this law. This will help promote and maintain fairness in women’s sporting events.” […] Alphonso David, president of the far-left Human Rights Campaign, released a statement claiming that the law represented “an affront not just to the transgender kids it is bound to hurt, but to all Arkansans who will be impacted by its consequences,” with no evidence to back up the latter statement. David also baselessly claimed that the law would cause “economic harm” to the state.

(3/25/2021) Fred T.: NOW: Election Integrity Act of 2021 PASSES in Georgia, Gov. Kemp SIGNS. Sweeping reforms include ID and more.
This morning, in strictly partisan vote, the Georgia legislature passed the “Election Integrity Act of 2021”, which is an elections and primaries omnibus bill designed and passed by Republicans in the state to avoid in the future the DEBACLE that Georgia endured in the 2020 election.
This bill has voter ID requirements for mail-in voting, it attacks ballot-harvesting drop boxes, it gives the state legislature the power to appoint someone to oversee the board INSTEAD of the Secretary of State. It’s many things. Here’s the least “filled with Democrat rage emoting” part of the AP story about it.

AMERICA IN DECLINE

Tapson: America at the End of Empire
“Do you think China’s doing that, letting political correctness get in the way of nurturing their best and brightest?” Maher added. “Do you think Chinese colleges are offering courses in ‘The Philosophy of Star Trek, ‘The Sociology of Seinfeld,’ and ‘Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse’? Those are real and so is China. And they are eating our lunch. And believe me, in an hour, they’ll be hungry again.” Maher’s prescient lecture came just before the Chinese delegation ate their American counterparts for lunch at last week’s U.S.-China meeting in Alaska, telling Secretary of State Antony Blinken to his face that China does not view America as operating “from a position of strength.” With a new American President so decrepit he is shielded from the public by his handlers; with our southern border collapsing under tsunami of illegal aliens; and with Americans at each other’s throats in a not-so-Cold Civil War, China’s not wrong about that. Unlike his fellow political propagandists on late-night TV, Maher occasionally comes down on the right side of an issue, and this is one of them. Ascendant China is hell-bent on world domination and makes no apology for it. America, meanwhile . . . […] . . . the cultural corrosion continued, as insidious, cancerous concepts like “whiteness,” “Critical Race Theory,” and “gender fluidity” began metastasizing at light-speed throughout every institution in America, inculcated in schoolchildren as young as kindergartners. Finally, those of us who love our heritage, our Constitution, and our country rallied behind a President who called on us to Make America Great Again. But it was too little, too late. The barbarians, who had long since infiltrated and . . . […] Is civilizational decline inevitable? If history is any measure, then yes. Only the kingdom of God lasts forever. The question before us now, though, is this: is America’s decline reversible? The answer is . . .

Cutler: The Unaccompanied Minors
Biden tried to block the photos and has attempted to erect a wall of secrecy around his administration to avoid being made accountable. This is a true humanitarian crisis, make no mistake, but these children are mere pawns in the political game being played by the Biden Administration. For all of the breast-beating by the Democrats during the Trump administration who complained stridently about the “kids in cages” we now see that the Biden administration has resorted to the use of dangerously overcrowded pens that look more suitable for holding livestock than children; and this is happening during the COVID-19 Pandemic where we are constantly told to wear masks and maintain “social distancing.” The media will now, undoubtedly focus their attention on the children while ignoring broader issues that emanate from the immigration crisis that the Biden administration refuses to describe as a crisis. It is becoming obvious that they won’t use that term because they are getting exactly what they want: . . . […] It is more than ironic that while Nancy Pelosi has demanded a “9/11-style commission” to investigate the riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, she and her political cohorts blatantly violate the findings and recommendations of the 9/11 Commission where immigration is concerned. The mainstream media is no better, . . .

Bedford: When The Powerful Say Truth Is A Lie And Lies Are The Truth, No One Will Stand Up For America But You
In an age when Americans have grown used to casually shrugging away their freedoms at the whim of TV pundits, this kind of propaganda is seriously dangerous. Open The New York Times’ politics page Thursday morning and the top headline reads, “Democrats Begin Push For Biggest Expansion In Voting Since 1960s.” It’s a story about the most important election power-grab in modern legislative history, with a slim, partisan majority of senators seeking to wrest control of elections away from state governments to ensure Democrat control for decades to come. For starters, H.R. 1 will ban voter ID requirements, mandate early voting, allow outside activist groups to deliver votes for counting, do away with notarized absentee ballots, force states to accept absentees for 10 days after an election is over, narrow the Federal Election Commission by one member to allow for partisan control, mandate counting illegal aliens in voting districts, allow the IRS to investigate non-profits’ political ideas, and make it nearly impossible to sue over the new rules. In short, it’s a story about Democrats aiming to seize massive power over how elections are run. Of course, you wouldn’t get any of that information from The New York Times headline or copy. In fact, funny enough, the second story on The New York Times’ politics page Thursday morning was the one headlined, “Republicans Aim To Seize More Power Over How Elections Are Run.”
