NOTABLE QUOTES

Pope John Paul II on meeting the mayor of Boston and later ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn said: “ . . .the future of the world is with the mothers. it is the mothers who raise the children and it is the mothers who will give us peace and make us free.”

Judi McLeod contributor to Canada Free Press: It is the Democrats and not the Catholic Church who are weaponizing the Holy Eucharist—and even more sorrowfully the politicized USCCB allowing it to happen

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger: Regarding the grave sin of abortion or euthanasia, when a person’s formal cooperation becomes manifest (understood, in the case of a Catholic politician, as his consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws), his pastor should meet with him, instructing him about the Church’s teaching, informing him that he is not to present himself for Holy Communion until he brings to an end the objective situation of sin, and warning him that he will otherwise be denied the Eucharist. When these precautionary measures have not had their effect or in which they were not possible, and the person in question, with obstinate persistence, still presents himself to receive the Holy Eucharist, the minister of Holy Communion must refuse to distribute it.

Rep. Maxine (Mad Max) Waters (D-Calif): “They can say whatever they want to say. One of the things we know is we need a commission, and they are opposing a commission to find out who all was involved. Where did the money come from to send busloads of people in? Who supported them in all of this? Where was the organizing taking place? I’m told there was organizing taking place right in the Trump campaign.”

Steve Bannon host of War Room Pandemic: “The crisis of masculinity is that we aren’t looking for guys to be boys. We’re looking for guys to be men.”

Angelo Codevilla contributor to the American Mind: In short, America has changed so much from what it had been just a half century ago that any restoration implies some sort of mutual alienation, separation, or secession, whether as a substitute for civil war or as a result of it. What kind of conflict might it take to rescue ourselves from what we regard as contemporary America’s corruptions?

Bob Hoye contributor to Canada Free press: What’s it going to be like when ordinary folk become more emphatic in saying “No!” to unrelenting intrusion by the dangerously ambitious Left? Will globalists force another bloody revolution? Or will American patriots be allowed to peacefully reform their bullying governments?

REFOUNDING AMERICA

Codevilla: To Rescue a Nation
Restoring America requires dedicated citizens to re-found our Republic. Peoples become nations by following those who lead them to worship the same God or idols, and to act habitually as they do. The Greeks called these habits “ethics.” These change for good and ill as prominent persons change, or develop new ways of life, or foreign influences impose themselves. The general population tends to follow. Plato and Aristotle led subsequent generations to note that peoples tend to take on their leaders’ character. Some see such changes as betrayal. If these alienate a large enough proportion of people, the body politic itself loses the capacity to act as a whole. Enough disarticulation, and the body politic ceases to exist for practical purposes. Serious changes, regardless of their sources, lead some to want a resetting the country on what they regard as its proper basis—or outright resuscitation. Machiavelli wrote that doing that amounts to re-founding a nation, and that this is considerably more difficult than founding one in the first place. What does it take to re-found a nation? The question is lively for twenty-first century Americans because the changes that have taken place in the bipartisan ruling class that controls nearly all our institutions have explicitly denied and denigrated what had made America itself. Today’s ruling class leads and even forces Americans to act, speak, and think as if all that they had thought good were bad, and vice versa. Almost as if a vengeful power had conquered the country. At least half the country yearns for some kind of rescue. Though history does not lack examples of nations rescued and refounded, . . .

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Tapson: The Plot Against the President
If you haven’t yet seen The Plot Against the President, the recent documentary about Russiagate, and think you know the whole story of what some argue was the biggest political scandal in American history, don’t wait any longer. Very capably directed by the courageous Amanda Milius, daughter of director/screenwriter John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Dirty Harry, Conan The Barbarian), The Plot Against the President stems from the book of the same title by investigative journalist Lee Smith, published in late 2019. The 90-minute documentary, released a year later, is available for rental at Amazon.com. The must-read book and riveting, fast-paced movie tell the true story of how relentlessly diligent Congressman Devin Nunes uncovered the Democrats’ “Deep State” operation to undermine the incoming administration of then-President Donald Trump. It features interviews with such principals as Trump’s former Deputy Assistant Sebastian Gorka, former Trump national security official Michael Anton, Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump, Jr., Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, former Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, and Nunes himself, among others.
The plot actually began in the summer of . . .

Lancaster: FDA Advisor Who Resigned Sounds Off On Agency’s Work In Last 6 Months
In early June, the FDA approved Aduhelm, a drug manufactured by Biogen for the treatment of Alzheimer’s. The FDA approved it under their Accelerated Approval pathway for its “anticipated clinical benefit” despite intense debate among researchers over whether or not it could actually benefit Alzheimer’s patients. Three members of the FDA’s independent advisory committee, which recommended that the FDA not approve the drug, resigned after the FDA ignored their advice. […] Narula said that it’s “pretty rare” for the FDA to approve a drug without the recommendation of its committee. She said that Kesselheim resigned because he felt that the FDA was not following the science and “significant concern” over side effects. One-third of patients had brain hemorrhages or bleeding, Narula added.

2020 ELECTION

Leahy: Arizona Audit Winding Down: Paper Examination Phase Expected to End Saturday
“The final report for the 2020 election audit taking place in Arizona’s largest county is not expected to be out until August, an official involved with the work says,” the Epoch Times reported on Friday. Legislators from several other key 2020 battleground states who have visited the audit — Georgia, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan — have expressed an interest in conducting similar audits of the 2020 election results of their states. It is unclear if any of those expressions of interest will result in additional audits in those states.

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN

(from June 11, 2021) Fox: NY High School to Blast Sexual Identity Definitions Over Loudspeaker Every Morning for Pride Month
No, this is not satire. A high school in a small rural part of New York, Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District, informed parents that school officials will be literally shouting information about sexual identity over the loudspeakers in honor of Pride Month. For real. “Each day on the announcements we will be talking about a different part of the LGBTQ+ community to help educate people on it,” the school said in the announcement. The first definitions described were “demi-girl, demi-boy, and demi-sexual.” Trust me, you don’t want to know what it means.

EDUCATION INDOCTRINATION

Zhang: The People’s Republic of Campus
Maoist self-education comes to America. As a teenager, I saw old-stone American university buildings on TV, and was enthralled by their dignified appearance. Later, I came across a book in my hometown that explained that the American university was a special place, unlike its Chinese counterpart, as devoted to the cultivation of the enduring longings of the human soul. To assist in man’s hunger to know, to understand, and to seek truth, is its highest mission. The longing for a spot in one of those buildings tormented me for decades. I longed to meet great minds and curious souls and explore the essential ideas with them. How could one not yearn for a place where students were challenged to think the unthinkable, to question convention, and to debate each other on ideas, when she had been imprisoned for years in the Chinese classroom where all subjects were stripped of all elements of beauty and imagination and left with only naked utility? Two decades later, I sit in one of those buildings, having claimed my spot only to find that thinking is discouraged, dissent suppressed, and ideological loyalty is the prerequisite for flourishing in the institution of higher learning.

Powe: Survey: Students Are Ashamed Of Being American After College Education
College students are cultivating an increasingly pessimistic view of the United States and their futures as their national pride deteriorates in university classrooms across the nation, a newly published American College Student Freedom, Progress and Flourishing Survey confirms. More than half of self-identified liberal students say they have developed a more negative view of the United States as a result of their higher education curriculum, while nearly one-third of students who identified as conservative shared their growing pessimism about America, according to the annual college student survey.

GOP

Trunsky: Democrats’ Sweeping Voting Bill Fails To Advance In The Senate
Senate Republicans stopped Democrats’ sweeping voting rights bill from advancing on the Senate floor Tuesday, unanimously voting against beginning its debate and therefore essentially killing it.Though every Democrat voted to advance the bill, Republicans labeled it as nothing more than a power grab, with GOP leadership vowing to stop it. The bill received 50 votes in favor, but needed 60 to overcome a legislative filibuster.

Rykowski: Legislation in Congress Would Abolish Education Department
H.R. 899 is sponsored by Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and co-sponsored by 14 additional representatives, while S. 323 is sponsored by Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.). The two bills are identical; they consist of only a single sentence that states: “The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2021.” From a constitutional standpoint, abolishing the DoE is essential. After all, nowhere does the U.S. Constitution give the federal government any authority over education policy.

WATCH: Herschel Walker ‘Getting Ready’ to Run ‘With the Big Dogs’ in Georgia
College and pro football legend Herschel Walker is teasing that he is “getting ready” to run “with the big dogs” in Georgia, a sign that the famous Georgian and well-known Trump supporter could be getting ready to run for Senate in the Peach State. […] In an email from his Save America PAC, Trump said Walker would be “unstoppable” if he decided to run: “Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia? He would be unstoppable, just like he was when he played for the Georgia Bulldogs and in the NFL. He is also a GREAT person. Run Herschel, run!”

FILIBUSTER UPDATE

Opinion: Kyrsten Sinema: We have more to lose than gain by ending the filibuster
It’s no secret that I oppose eliminating the Senate’s 60-vote threshold. I held the same view during three terms in the U.S. House, and said the same after I was elected to the Senate in 2018. If anyone expected me to reverse my position because my party now controls the Senate, they should know that my approach to legislating in Congress is the same whether in the minority or majority. Once in a majority, it is tempting to believe you will stay in the majority. But a Democratic Senate minority used the 60-vote threshold just last year to filibuster a police reform proposal and a covid-relief bill that many Democrats viewed as inadequate. Those filibusters were mounted not as attempts to block progress, but to force continued negotiations toward better solutions. […] To those who want to eliminate the legislative filibuster to pass the For the People Act (voting-rights legislation I support and have co-sponsored), I would ask: Would it be good for our country if we did, only to see that legislation rescinded a few years from now and replaced by a nationwide voter-ID law or restrictions on voting by mail in federal elections, over the objections of the minority?

PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY HAVE YOUR VOICES HEARD

Benton: Moms Must Keep Hammering School Boards Until Critical Race Theory Is Dead
There have been few things more glorious to witness in recent weeks than the impressive array of courageous and relentless mothers around the country lambasting school boards for their support of vile critical race theory. […] It turns out everyday women don’t want their children being brainwashed to view the world through the lens of “whiteness,” white racism, and white privilege. They don’t agree that America was founded on racist principles. They reject the claim that hard work, self-reliance, objectivity, deferred gratification, family, respect for authority, and respect for the written word are intrinsically racist values exploited by white Americans to relentlessly suppress people of color. Mothers resent their children being defined as a collective based on race, gender and sexuality, and being told that their achievement in life is determined by these fixed categories as opposed to their endeavors. They don’t like the glorification of organizations like Black Lives Matter that undermine the nuclear family and promote violence against police. […] By asserting their role as the ultimate authority in their children’s education, these outraged mothers are demonstrating what Pope John Paul II once observed when he met the mayor of Boston and later ambassador to the Vatican, Ray Flynn. Addressing Flynn’s wife, John Paul said that “the future of the world is with the mothers.” He explained that “it is the mothers who raise the children” and “it is the mothers who will give us peace and make us free.” Mothers taking on woke school boards understand . . .

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

Gan & Wescott: US-China rivalry is extending from Earth into space. That poses a challenge to American dominance
When it comes to the intensifying rivalry between the United States and China, the sky is by no means the limit. As the two countries jockey for economic, technological, geopolitical and even ideological superiority on Earth, space has become a natural extension — and crucial frontier — in their great power competition. And due to the inherent dual-use nature of space technologies, what’s at stake extends far beyond mere scientific prestige and global standing. In addition to national defense, so much of our life on Earth — from digital communications to navigation — depends on satellites in space.

Feder: The Two Chinas
It’s a little-known fact that there are two Chinas. One China unleashed a pandemic on the world that killed close to 4 million people and has the World Health Organization in its back pocket. The other isn’t even allowed to join WHO. One China is a destabilizing force, poised to start World War III. The other wants only peaceful relations with its neighbors and the rest of the world. One China is ruled by a totalitarian regime that crushes dissent, suppresses religious and ethnic minorities and even tries to regulate births. The other is a thriving democracy where civil liberties are protected. One China spies on us, arms rogue states like Iran, and threatens our security. The other was our ally in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. One is the hilariously misnamed People’s Republic of China, where the only role the people play is as hostages. The other is the Republic of China on Taiwan, the official name of the nation of 23 million, on the other side of the Taiwan Straits, that the PRC claims as its own. […] Communist China’s actions toward Taiwan are psychotic. In a 72-hour period earlier this month, 36 Chinese military planes flew over Taiwan’s air space, the most ever. It’s just the latest aggressive move to signal to the Taiwanese and the rest of the world, that Beijing intends to incorporate the island into its evil empire sooner or later.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Toameh: The US-Backed Palestinian Human Rights Violations
Abbas appears to be emboldened by the Biden administration’s decision to resume unconditional financial aid to the Palestinians. This no-strings-attached money is being supplied without even a stipulation that the PA put an end to human rights violations and assaults on public freedoms. […] It seems clear that the diplomats care little if the PA is arresting, torturing and intimidating social media users and political activists. These diplomats and Western journalists do raise their voices — and loudly — when they have something damning to say about Israel. The silence of the international community and the Biden administration’s blind and unqualified support for the PA only encourage the Palestinian leadership to step up its repressive measures against Palestinians.

Kredo: Iranian President-Elect Rejects Biden Meeting and Refuses Negotiations
Iran’s newly elected hardline president, Ebrahim Raisi, said in his first press conference on Monday that he will not allow negotiations to take place on the country’s contested missile program, which includes long-range ballistic missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. He also said that he will not agree to any future meetings with President Joe Biden. Raisi, a former chief justice who authorized the murder of thousands of dissidents, also said Iran will not agree to any new nuclear agreement without the Biden administration first unilaterally lifting all economic sanctions on the country. The country also announced during the weekend that it is likely to abandon negotiations with the United States in the near future.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

I & I Editorial Board: : Biden Breaks The Record On Wealth Transfers: $4.9 Trillion
Under Biden, direct payments hit a huge new record high. Think about it this way. At $4.9 trillion, “direct payments to individuals” this year are equal to the entire federal budget of just two years ago. These money transfers will account for 22.3% of the nation’s entire GDP.If this income transfer were a country, it would be bigger than Germany’s entire economy and slightly smaller than Japan’s. Worse, the government will have to borrow $1.3 trillion of the money it’s transferring. That’s like robbing Peter’s children and grandchildren to pay Paul.

Turley: Biden’s bad run: Is he doing worse in the courts than Trump?
President Biden repeatedly framed his campaign and his administration as defending “the rule of law” after what he and others portrayed as the lawless reign of President Trump. The image of Biden as restoring the Justice Department back into the good graces of the law and the courts is reinforced regularly in the media. What is not being as fully reported is that Biden actually has racked up a litany of notable court losses that may now exceed those of his predecessor in his first six months. Indeed, the Biden administration has been found to have violated the Constitution in a surprising array of cases in a surprisingly short period of time. Across the country, trial courts have been finding constitutional violations by the Biden administration in areas ranging from immigration to the environment to pandemic relief.

DEMOCRAT MARXIST PLAYBOOK: CRITICAL RACE THEORY (WOKE IDENTITY POLITICS)

Dailymail.com reporter: ‘Hate is dripping from the followers of Jesus in this room’: Two parents are arrested as Loudoun County School Board descends into violence over new transgender rules
The Loudoun County School Board in Virginia cut off public comment during a meeting on Tuesday as residents debated contentious transgender policy proposals and Critical Race Theory.County residents arrived early to pack the auditorium as 259 residents signed up to speak during the public comment session before the debates became so heated that at least two men were eventually arrested for refusing to leave the building. The men were protesting the policy. The parents debated a draft of the proposed 8040 policy on restrooms that reads that ‘students should be allowed to use the facility that corresponds to their gender identity,’ as school district leaders say they are moving to make schools more inclusive for transgender students – something that is considered by some parents as challenging traditional religious beliefs. According to Fox News, the comments went rather smoothly through the first half-dozen speakers who supported the 8040 proposal until the seventh speaker was booed for insulting Christian parents in the district who oppose the policy. The woman, who identified herself as the mother of a transgender Loudoun student, had said that ‘hate’ was ‘dripping from the followers of Jesus in this room’ – which promoted the board to call a five-minute recess for parents to cool down. […] Parents in the audience were also protesting recent moves by the board to promote critical race theory, which they said was racist indoctrination.

Center Square Staff: Pelosi’s select committee on wealth inequality sparks controversy
The House Democrats’ new select committee on wealth inequality is sparking controversy. The select committee was created in January of this year, but its seats remained empty until this week. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced eight members this week to make up the committee, which is officially called the Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth. “The past several decades have shown with devastating clarity the marked imbalance between the financial fortunes of CEOs and workers,” Pelosi said. “The reverence of those who amass profits by stagnating wages has seriously undermined the lives and livelihoods of many Americans, while slowing economic growth in our country. This year, the disturbing, dangerous trend of economic disparity has also been accelerated by the coronavirus economic crisis. […] Pelosi sparked backlash, though, for adding to the committee one of Congress’ more controversial members: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). She has a history of incendiary comments that have drawn widespread opposition from Republicans. […] Democratic leadership said the committee is modeled after the Temporary National Economic Committee founded in 1938 to study the cause of the Great Depression.

OBAMA/BIDEN LEGACY: FASCIST ANTIFA & BLM ARMIES

Hinderaker: MORE EVIDENCE THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER IS A FRAUD
Not everyone associated with the Black Lives Matter movement is a crook, but a lot of them are. We know that Patrisse Khan-Cullors, one of BLM’s founders, has bought more than $3 million worth of luxury real estate in recent months. Being a BLM activist is a lucrative gig, with American corporations throwing hundreds of millions of dollars at the various BLM entities. God only knows what they do with it. Trying to get to the bottom of BLM’s finances is like tracing Mafia money. Now, another Khan-Cullors grift has come to light. The New York Post reports: “Nonprofit tied to Patrisse Cullors failed to disclose significant donations.” […] Some would say this is a scandal, but what do you think the chances are that the IRS will crack down on BLM entities the way it did on wholly innocent conservative organizations during the Obama administration? Maybe BLM thinks the IRS is in its pocket. Maybe BLM is right.
