If they don’t, they risk their citizens — including the wealthy, but especially the working classes — living under the boot of a new system, complete with second-class statuses for the resistant.
Rep, Steve Scalise (R-LA) in a statement upon hearing that Biden’s DOJ will not investigate COVID-19 nursing home mandates issued in Democrat-led states that led to thousands of premature deaths: “It is outrageous that the Department of Justice refuses to investigate the deadly ‘must admit’ orders issued by [these] governors … that resulted in the deaths of thousands of senior citizens. Where is the justice for nursing home victims and their grieving families? These deadly orders contradicted the CDC’s guidance, and needlessly endangered the most vulnerable among us to the deadly COVID-19 virus.”

These are questions that deserve answers because real movements can be seen and felt. Bernie Sanders supporters were mutinous; Debbie Wasserman Schultz, then-head of the Democratic National Committee, resigned on July 25, 2016. Simpson and his business partner hightailed it to the City of Brotherly Love to woo the media away from the escalating scandal. The well-connected pair met with top journalists and editors, including New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet, to spin a dark tale about the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia including rumors of prostitutes in a Moscow hotel. It worked like a charm. […] For the past five years, Donald Trump and the country have been subjected to various iterations of Crossfire Hurricane: Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation, numerous U.S. Senate and House inquiries, the first and second impeachment trials, and countless media microaggressions sought to achieve what Comey’s FBI ultimately did not—the personal and political destruction of Donald Trump. Justice: January 6 Commission Show Trial Witnesses Prepped by Russian Collusion, Ukraine Impeachment, Kavanaugh Rape Hoaxers
The attorneys representing two Capitol police officers before the House Select Committee on January 6 Tuesday expose the partisan probe as nothing more than a Democrat show trial to impeach Republican voters after twice failing to impeach former President Donald Trump. On Thursday, attorney and Lincoln Project fanboy David Laufman tweeted his excitement to represent Officers Harry Dunn and Aquilino Gonell alongside left-wing D.C. attorney Mark Zaid. “Proud to join [Mark Zaid] in representing brave Capitol Police officers,” Laufman wrote. “They will tell the truth of what really happened that day.” Both attorneys have a history of representing clients in high-profile cases with nefarious motives.

Bonchie: Lies Pile up on Day One of the January 6th Hearings
Today was day one of the hearings on January 6th, held by Nancy Pelosi’s partisan select committee. What transpired was a sideshow of fake crying and irrelevant, sometimes questionable testimony from Capitol Police officers who offered absolutely nothing of substance in regards to fixing the security issues that plagued the Capitol that day. Of course, because we are dealing with an event strictly meant to cause an emotional reaction, not actually accomplish anything, the lies flowed freely. To start, Bennie Thompson, who himself objected to the electoral college in 2004, claimed that seven people lost their lives.
[…] Then there was the claim that January 6th was the worst attack on the Capitol since 1812. . . . Jan 6th was the worst attack on the Capitol since 1812? Odd because in 1954, five congressmen were wounded on the floor when 4 terrorists opened fire from the visitor area. (Prez Carter later commuted/reduced the sentences.) […] A lot of things happened on January 6th. What did not happen is a hitman directly ordering people to attack the Capitol, in this case, Donald Trump. During his speech, Trump specifically asked people to peacefully protest. That some of the protesters didn’t is ultimately on them for choosing not to listen. We have agency in this country, and people are responsible for their own actions.

Hauf: Study: American Abortion Laws Closer to North Korea Than Europe
America’s abortion laws are closer to North Korea’s than they are to democratic countries’, a fact the Supreme Court should consider as it weighs the constitutionality of Mississippi’s abortion law, according to a new study. Mississippi’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy mirrors the laws in effect in 47 European countries, but the policy is at odds with Supreme Court precedent established by Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which hold that abortion bans cannot be instituted prior to fetal viability. The standard—loosely set at 24 weeks—has stood for five decades despite rapid advances in medicine. Mississippi’s challenge to the Court, according to American Principles Project president Terry Schilling, will usher the United States into the 21st century.

Shurk: What Vaccines Say about the Precarious State of Our Freedom
As purportedly “free” countries all over the world get their tyrannical freak on by insisting that every citizen be jabbed with an experimental pharmaceutical cocktail or face the wrath of the Leviathan, I am reminded of a letter from Thomas Jefferson to Abigail Adams, in which he remarked: “The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive.” Jefferson’s point was that ordinary citizens represent a necessary check on the natural abuses of government and the last line of defense against corruption and political tyranny. Make no mistake: the writer of the Declaration of Independence saw government as not a benefactor of man’s freedom, but rather its adversary. “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground,” Jefferson warned in another letter to Edward Carrington, a distinguished soldier and Virginia statesman. Free people don’t stay free by blindly trusting everything government officials say and do; free people stay free by treating government with great apprehension and even greater suspicion.

Simonson: Biden Forbids Immigration Judges From Using the Term ‘Alien’
Citing an immigration order from President Joe Biden, senior DOJ official Jean King instructed the nation’s 539 immigration judges to “use language that is consistent with our character as a nation of opportunity and of welcome.” The July 23 memo forbids employees in the Executive Office for Immigration Review from using “‘alien’ or ‘illegal alien’ to describe migrants.” King suggests judges use “respondent, applicant, petitioner, beneficiary, migrant, noncitizen, or non-U.S. citizen,” as a replacement when writing opinions. Instead of “undocumented alien” or “illegal alien,” judges should use “undocumented noncitizen, undocumented non-U.S. citizen, or undocumented individual,” the document says.

A New York Times reporter deleted a tweet that called supporters of former President Trump “enemies of the state,” following a viral blowback online. “Today’s #January6SelectCommittiee underscores the America’s current essential natsec dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a current politician’s supporters enemies of the state,” Katie Benner posted Tuesday morning, according to a screenshot shared by Fox News. “As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party. But what happens if a politician seems to threaten the state? If the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports that threat?,” the thread reportedly continued.
