[…] “Public health policy must be based upon accurate and independently verifiable data to optimize outcomes and strengthen the public’s trust in the people leading them through this crisis,” the Republican lawmakers, whose state has imposed some of the harshest and longest COVID restrictions, wrote in a letter with several attached exhibits. Neff: Voters Across Arizona Report Receiving Ballots In The Mail For Other Voters
Elections are underway in several Arizona counties, and concerns are popping up about whether voter registration files are being sufficiently updated to prevent voter fraud. In Maricopa County, where the City of Scottsdale is conducting an all-mail Special Election, Anthony Massara was stunned to find three ballots in his mailbox, each with the name of a different person he did not know. Massara told Arizona Daily Independent he purchased his Scottsdale home in 2017. The prior owner used the property as a rental for several years, so when various election mail was delivered in the names of other people Massara simply returned the items to the post office with a note that the person did not live at the address. He did the same thing during the 2020 General Election when he received early ballots (also known as absentee ballots) for three or four voters. But when Massara received three ballot envelopes last week for Scottsdale’s current election, he got in touch with Rep. Leo Biasiucci (R-LD5) who has been a vocal critic of Maricopa County’s election integrity measures.

Such measures have been backed by proponents of universal healthcare and programs like Medicare for All, even though such policies are, in theory, meant to offer all Americans healthcare at little to no cost regardless of their medical status. Elisabeth Rosenthal, the editor-in-chief of Kaiser Health News, has argued unvaccinated people should be charged higher insurance rates as a penalty in The New York Times, CNN and MSNBC. Yet she is a proponent of universal healthcare, writing in a New York Times op-ed in May 2019 that the point of healthcare “is to treat patients, not to buttress the economy.” Arthur Caplan, a prominent medical ethicist, said in an August interview with WBUR that unvaccinated people should “pay a financial penalty” or otherwise be held liable for the cost of avoidable treatment. Yet during the height of the Obamacare debate in 2010, he co-authored an academic paper arguing that healthcare is a “right” and universal health insurance “makes sense.”

Instantly, a “positive” RT-PCR test in an asymptomatic person after a drive-through tonsillectomy became a “case.” The CARES Act gives thousands extra to hospitals for every “positive,” with a big bonus if the patient’s shadow is seen in an ICU. It’s a classic “one hand washes the other scenario” between outside labs and hospitals. “If you give me more positive results, I get more money, so I’ll send more tests to you.” My hospital’s Medical Staff President flatly denied any CARES Act benefits at our 2020 Medical Staff Extravaganza, but the incentives can’t be denied. My hospital still sends “coders” out to demand that staff order COVID tests to get more payments. Put bluntly, there’s no way to know what any test means medically if the patient isn’t sick. But “positives” definitely mean money!

A 2021 workshop for educators encouraged attendees to read an article that equated supporters of former President Donald Trump to the Ku Klux Klan, calling them both “examples of white supremacy.” The workshop, run by left-wing education company Panorama Education, was titled “SEL as Social Justice: Dismantling White Supremacy Within Systems and Self.” SEL stands for “Social-Emotional Learning,” and the company is not shy about explaining SEL is just a way to achieve its “equity” goals. The Washington Examiner reported that the workshop included a slide that referenced a 2020 article from Altagracia Montilla, who describes herself as a “freedom-dreamer, facilitator, and strategist committed to dismantling oppressive systems” who works to build “antiracist” work spaces. The article, titled “How White Supremacy Lives in Our Schools,” equates those who attended Trump’s rallies to members of the KKK. […]

Reuters: McConnell warns Biden that GOP will not help raise the debt ceiling again in December due to Schumer’s ‘tantrum’ speech and ‘grave concerns that another reckless spending bill will hurt America’
One day after the Senate approved a temporary lift to the U.S. debt ceiling, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden that he would not aid Democrats again in raising the debt limit. Following weeks of partisan fighting, the Senate approved the short-term fix that will allow the United States to avoid defaulting on its bills in a 50-48 vote on Thursday evening. The House will vote on the measure on Tuesday. Congress will need to find a longer-term solution in December. But McConnell has said the reprieve would give Democrats enough time to raise the debt ceiling through a procedural move known as reconciliation, which Democrats have rejected as an option for lifting the cap.

We must also acknowledge that Biden came to the Presidency deeply compromised by Communist China. Literally, billions of dollars in CCP money have been funneled to the Bidens over the years. We must consider the very real possibility that what we are seeing is not simply gross incompetence. We may be witnessing deliberate, calculated malfeasance. In this environment, what are the realistic prospects that the Biden administration will come to the defense of Taiwan? What are the chances that Joe and his senior advisors, many of whom are also compromised by the CCP, would direct American air and naval forces to break a Chinese blockade and come to the rescue of Taipei? Any rational person would have to say – nil.
Taiwan cannot long survive a blockade. Taiwan lives entirely on imported energy. It imports one million barrels of oil a day and 2 billion cubic meters of gas a month. All of this has to arrive on the island by ship. If China imposes a blockade, the lights go out. Vehicles stop moving. Business shuts down.
Taiwan cannot feed itself. It has a high population density and produces roughly a third of what its population eats. If a blockade is maintained for any significant period of time the country starves.

Lewis & Thorburn: China’s President Xi Jinping says reunification with Taiwan ‘must happen’ after state media warned that world war three could happen ‘at any moment’
China has warned the US over its involvement in Taiwan and claimed the ‘weak and cowardly’ island authorities will accept reunification ahead of the island’s National Day of celebration tomorrow.  An op-ed in state media outlet Global Times said the US would face ‘unbearable’ consequences for its military involvement in Taiwan and that American troops would be the first to be ‘eliminated’ in a Chinese ‘invasion’.  The piece also claimed Taiwanese authorities were likely ‘to surrender [to reunification] in a few years or even a shorter period of time’ or China would resolve the dispute ‘by force’.
It comes comes amid a rise in aggressive threats and provocative military action over Taiwanese airspace in recent days.
