U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, will help raise money for U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney at a fundraiser in March, according to reports released Wednesday. News outlet Reuters saw an invitation for a fundraiser being held March 14 at the home of Bobbie Kilberg, a Virginia Republican, that mentioned Romney. Other guests stumping for Cheney at the event are to include Republican figures and critics of former President Donald Trump such as former Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, lobbyist Charlie Black, and former Vice President Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney’s father.

Biden Legal Adviser: Kamala Harris Doesn’t Have Power to Break a Tie for Biden’s SCOTUS Nominee
Liberal Harvard Law School professor emeritus Laurence Tribe is holding to his position, first voiced during the Trump administration, that a vice president cannot cast a tie-breaking vote to confirm a Supreme Court nominee. President Joe Biden has known Tribe since the 1980s and has sought his counsel on numerous matters over the years, including on extending the eviction moratorium last summer, according to The Washington Post. In September 2020, Tribe authored an opinion piece for the Boston Globe arguing that then-Vice President Mike Pence did not have the constitutional authority in his role as president of the Senate to break a tie to confirm a Supreme Court nominee. “While the vice president has the power to cast a tiebreaking vote to pass a bill, the Constitution does not give him the power to break ties when it comes to the Senate’s ‘Advice and Consent’ role in approving presidential appointments to the Supreme Court,” the constitutional scholar wrote.

Tragic: 33-Year-Old Father Dies After Developing Autoimmune Disease From Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine
Brandon Pollet suffered a severe reaction 48 hours after his second COVID vaccination. According to his doctors, the COVID vaccine had caused Brandon an immune response that led to the development of an autoimmune disease. “Brandon had no prior medical history,” Brandon’s wife Jessica Pollet said. “After his second Pfizer vaccine, Brandon developed a headache right away then fever 48 hours after,” Herald Guide reported. Chad Carswell, 38, strongly believes that getting the vaccine should be a choice and doesn’t think it’s very effective in preventing infection. ‘I’ve had COVD twice so I’ve developed natural antibodies,’ the Air Force veteran told DailyMail.com on Sunday when asked about his reasons for refusing the shot. ‘A lot of scientists say I’m more safe from my natural antibodies. It’s more to do with the fact that they’re trying to force you to do something,’ he said. Carswell has had six heart attacks and is a double amputee. His kidney is operating at four percent capacity and he undergoes dialysis – a process that removes toxins from the blood, typically removed by healthy kidneys – three times a week.

A Florida doctor says families of loved ones hospitalized with COVID-19 are resorting to desperate measures when approved treatments have failed. And when it’s not too late, some have seen tremendous success by sneaking medications prohibited by hospitals to patients, says Eduardo Balbona, an independent internist in Jacksonville. […] He learned later that she’d filled the prescriptions, took the medications to the hospital, and gave them to her husband. By Tuesday, the man was discharged and fully following the protocol Balbona prescribed. A few days later, he was off the oxygen. Now, he’s recovering, Balbona said. But they’re afraid to share their good news publicly. “The people who snuck in the ivermectin… they are scared to death,” Balbona said. “She is sure that the government is going to find out who she is” and possibly arrest her for giving medications not approved by the hospital. He said she told him, “I did it. I knew it was wrong. I don’t know what the penalties are. Hubbard: Chinese Communist Party takes advantage of COVID control measures
The Chinese Communist Party has taken advantage of COVID-19 mandates to monitor citizens and limit the rights of anyone who may not align themselves with the regime by hiring millions to surveil citizens in the name of public health. Human rights lawyer Xie Yang told The New York Times how police warned him not to visit the mother of a Chinese dissident in Shanghai. Xie’s health code app on his phone showed green, meaning it is fine to travel, so Xie went to the airport. Suddenly, his app turned red, and he was flagged as high-risk, despite the fact that he had not traveled in weeks from his home city of Changsha, which did not have any COVID infections. Airport security attempted to force Xie to quarantine, but he resisted and accused government authorities of changing his health app to prevent him from traveling. “The Chinese Communist Party has found the best model for controlling people,” . . .

President Joe Biden has pledged to nominate the first black woman to the Supreme Court, but he seems to have forgotten about the time he filibustered a black woman judge’s nomination to America’s second-highest court for two years. Way back in 2003 through 2005, when Joe Biden was still a Democrat senator from Delaware, President George W. Bush nominated Janice Rogers Brown to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but due to her conservative views, Joe Biden and the Democrats filibustered her nomination, blocking a final vote on her confirmation. Bush nominated Brown for the District of Columbia Circuit in 2003 after she served as a justice on the California Supreme Court since 1996; she did not get confirmed until June 8, 2005. Bartow: Under Biden Proposal, Everyone Including Kids Could More Easily Get Transgender Surgery
The Biden administration is pushing for more insurers, and thus anyone who buys their insurance, to cover transgender surgeries. Such genital, breast, and facial surgery, as well as hormone therapy and more, would be considered “medically necessary” for those wishing to identify with the other sex.
Discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability is prohibited in federally funded health-care facilities under the Affordable Care Act, passed during the Obama administration. A proposed rule, issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on January 5, would add “sexual orientation and gender identity” to that list. The rule “places ideology ahead of sound medicine,” the Ethics and Public Policy Center said in a comment Thursday opposing the rule. It “is without legal support, contradicts long-standing scientific understandings of the human person, attempts to evade court injunctions, promotes harm to patients (especially minors), tramples religious freedom,” and more, according to the EPPC.
