Judicial Watch Settles North Carolina Voter Roll Lawsuit after State Removes over 430,000 Inactive Names from Rolls
Judicial Watch filed its lawsuit against the State of North Carolina, Mecklenburg County and Guilford County in April 2020 (Judicial Watch v. North Carolina and North Carolina State Board of Elections, et al. (No. 3:20-cv- 211)). In June 2019, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) released data showing that voter registration rates in a significant proportion of North Carolina’s 100 counties were close to, at or above 100% of their age-eligible citizenry – statistics considered by the courts to be a strong indication that a jurisdiction is not taking the steps required by law to remove ineligible registrants. Judicial Watch’s analysis also showed that at the time of the EAC report the entire State of North Carolina had a registration rate close to 100% of its age-eligible citizenry.

A group investigating Wisconsin election fraud recently presented interim findings about the 2020 election. The informal hearing was held by the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections in Madison, the WI capitol. Over the past 14 months, this group has had 1,500 volunteers, and spent $60k purchasing election lists at the State and County level. They currently use a supercomputer in Texas to process the data through 8 stages. Using public document requests, they also gained insight into the WI election administration. Karen Budd-Falen: It’s An EPA “Miracle”—Turning Your “Dry Land” into a “Wetland?”
Remember the story from the Bible where Jesus turned the water into wine? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) can also perform miracles—turning dry land into a wetland under the Clean Water Act (CWA). In fact, according to the EPA, a “wetland” can be private property that has NO surface water but has water beneath the surface that then flows under a paved street into a small manmade ditch that goes past other homes and eventually flows into a lake (a navigable water). Because the EPA has defined this dry land as a “wetland,” placing dirt on that property is regulated by the agency.
The case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether the federal government can determine that dry land is a wetland or a “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) under the CWA.

Berenson: No wonder China isn’t using mRNA shots
China’s CoronaVac shot caused people to make far more T-cells targeting the coronavirus than those who received Pfizer’s mRNA shot, scientists in Hong Kong have found. Though it is only one datapoint, the study hints the Chinese shot – which is based on older, well understood principles of vaccinology – may ultimately provide longer-lasting protection than the hastily developed mRNA jabs from Pfizer and Moderna. The study was published in a peer-reviewed journal called Respirology in November, but has (unsurprisingly) received no attention. It offers a rare head-to-head look at the immune-system effects of the Chinese and Pfizer Covid vaccines, which work in very different ways.

Blindly relying on “U.S. intelligence sources,” faulty translations, outdated context and botched vocabulary about the recent escalation between Ukraine and Russia makes anxiety worse about a possible invasion from Russia, Iryna Matviyishyn, a Ukrainian journalist covering human rights, told the Daily Caller. “Some media get the wrong translation… Maybe due to the fact that they don’t have good translators, or do it fast [through] Google translate. They distort the information,” she continued, mentioning how CNN wrongly translated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “ironic” post about Feb. 16 being the day the invasion would start, and “contributed to panic in the media.”

Reuters: Senate passes stop-gap funding bill to avoid government shutdown: Legislation now heads to Biden for him to sign and keep government running until October
U.S. Congress on Thursday gave final approval of legislation funding the government through March 11, avoiding the embarrassing spectacle of federal agencies having to shut many of their operations amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis. The Senate acted as a midnight Friday deadline loomed, when existing funds were set to expire for operating most of the federal government. The temporary funding bill passed in a bipartisan vote of 65-27, five more than the 60 votes needed. It now goes to President Joe Biden for signing into law.

ln my life, I have encountered people who scoff at the notion that the American family was far healthier in the 1950s than it is now. They cannot, of course, point to any strong evidence of widespread unhappiness and dysfunction in that time. Divorces were rare, and so were out-of-wedlock births. American men and women after the war were eager to resume real life. Rosie the Riveter usually wanted children and a home, not a new sweatband and more rivets. We don’t have to assert that it was a “golden age,” any more than we have to assert that all of the founders were geniuses of political acumen and farsightedness. All we need to assert is that in certain important respects, there are good reasons to say that family life was richer than it is now, in part because people assumed that the common good both depended upon family life and was meant to foster that life. Scoffers usually bring up one or more of the old family-oriented television comedies from that time, to say that they were absurdly untrue to life, especially as they put the father upon a pedestal, beaming wisely and graciously down upon the little people, that is, his wife and children: “Father Knows Best,” “Leave It to Beaver,” “Ozzie and Harriet.” I wonder whether such people have watched more than an episode or two of each show, if they have watched any episodes at all. The fathers in those shows were wise, but they also made a lot of mistakes, so that the very title “Father Knows Best” was clearly a stroke of gentle but obvious irony: Jim Anderson did not always know best, and many a time he had to give up his pride or his stubbornness, and see things as his loved ones saw them, and sometimes grow in self-knowledge.

Greenfield: German CEO Behind Kendi and DiAngelo Funds Critical Race Theory Push Into Schools
Behind Ibram X. Kendi’s racist tract, How to Be an Antiracist, is a German publishing giant with a Nazi past. Kendi’s books have been published by Penguin Random House, which after a merger overseen by Bertelsmann executive Markus Dohle, and despite antitrust challenges from the Justice Department, became the world’s largest publisher under CEO Dohle. Bertelsmann, the German mega-publisher, whose owner had donated to the SS, which, employed Jewish slave labor, and long before Kendi, was infamous for racist tracts such as The Christmas Book of the Hitler Youth, is heavily invested in pushing racism on Americans. And schools are a lucrative market for inflicting critical race theory on American students. Now Dohle, in a New York Times story that suspiciously reads like a press release, has announced that he’s donating $500,000 to PEN to create the “Dohle Book Defense Fund”. The fund by the wealthy German CEO appears to be meant to fight efforts by states, schools, and parents to keep racist hate out of the classroom like the kind purveyed by Bertelsmann which went from the The Christmas Book of the Hitler Youth to How to Be an Antiracist.

I grew up understanding that the world could be a dangerous place of unpredictable menace. But I was not tyrannized by this knowledge. I went to school, played unsupervised in the street, and had blanket permission to range widely on my bike, far from my neighborhood, provided I was home when the streetlights came on. Adults were not omnipresent as they tend to be in children’s lives today, but they seemed in charge and mostly competent. I also knew one thing with certainty about my country, reinforced by my parents and teachers and in the media and culture at large: We were the good guys.
The mental landscape of American childhood is very different today. […] Children are told, sometimes explicitly in school and in the broader culture, that the world is counting on them for deliverance from problems grown-ups heedlessly created and have proven incapable of solving. In 2019, Time magazine named 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg the youngest “person of the year” in its history. A group of Parkland, Florida, high-school gun-control activists topped the magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people. The article praising their efforts was written by Barack Obama. Worst of all, this pedagogy of the depressed—America the Problematic—is thought to be a virtue among professional educators who view it as a mark of seriousness and sophistication. We want children to grapple with “honest history” starting in elementary school and to discover the power of their voices by writing authentic essays about their personal problems. Small wonder, then, that children are more depressed and medicated than ever before.

In Wyoming, community members notified the police department about explicit books in the local library’s youth section. “Sex is a Funny Word,” written by Cory Silverberg and illustrated by Fiona Smyth, is one such book. It was placed on the American Library Association Reading List for 2016. Intended for those as young as 7-year-old second graders, the book has been featured in middle school libraries and discusses the “subjects of transgender identity, intersex conditions, and masturbation.” It also erroneously claims that “having a penis isn’t what makes you a boy. Having a vulva isn’t what makes you a girl. The truth is much more interesting than that!”

Clark: Utah’s Republican Gov. Vows To Veto School Voucher Bill After Taking $75,000 From Nation’s Largest Teachers Union

Spencer Cox vowed to veto a school choice bill on Thursday as school choice advocates point out that the Governor accepted $75,000 in campaign funds from the nation’s largest teachers union. Cox said during his monthly news conference that he would veto House Bill 331, which would create an educational voucher program that establishes “scholarship accounts on behalf of eligible students to pay for private education goods and services” for the 2023-2024 school year, according to a local news outlet.

Christianson: School District Just Banned CNN From Classrooms
The Norwin Star reported that the Pittsburgh-area Norwin School Board voted 5 to 4 on Monday to halt daily broadcasts of CNN 10 during middle school homerooms. Banning CNN 10 was among the campaign promises made by new school board members Christine Baverso, Alexander Detschelt, and Shawna Ilagan, whom parents voted into office in 2021. Parents have objected to the bias of the program. According to a new paper in a top-ranked biology journal, these concerns are vastly overblown.

Vincent: Amazon suspends Black Lives Matter from its charity platform
The beleaguered Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation has been kicked off Amazon’s charity platform for its failure to disclose where tens of millions in donations it received nearly two years ago have ended up. AmazonSmile, which gives a portion of eligible purchases on the online shopping site to charities, said it “had to temporarily suspend” the group today, an Amazon spokesperson told The Post.
