The two mass shootings in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas, both perpetrated by 18-year-olds, have highlighted a disturbing reality: The shooters are getting younger. The big picture: Most of the deadliest shootings in the U.S. since 2018 were committed by men who were 21 or younger. […] Part of the argument for raising the minimum age is based on mounting scientific evidence that the brains of males, especially the frontal lobe that controls executive function and decision-making, do not finish developing until they are roughly 25 years old, or even a few years later. A new study by Israeli researchers and published in Nature has revealed an increase of over 25 percent in cardiovascular-related emergency calls in the young-adult population, following the rollout of COVID vaccines, among both males and females. No similar increase was found due to COVID infection alone.
Israel health authorities and the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC) have acknowledged a link between COVID vaccines and specific cardiovascular complications. The risk of myocarditis after receiving a second vaccine dose is now estimated to be between 1 in 3000 to 1 in 6000 in men aged 16 to 24.

The Democratic primary for a Georgia county has been called into question after a hand count revealed the voting machines were off by thousands of ballots. Marshall Orson, a Democratic DeKalb County school board member running for the county commission, asked the local elections board on Thursday to not certify the results as scheduled on Friday due to “numerous issues” with the race.

The timing of the leak also indicates an underlying willingness on the part of the Biden administration to undermine Israel when, in public, the White House is seeking to portray itself as an ally of Israel, as indicated by its recent seeming decision not to remove the IRGC from the US list of designated terrorist organisations.

I argued in 2008 and on many subsequent occasions, including the February 2014 note in PJ Media reposted below. The obvious course of action in Ukraine was to permit its people to vote for a divorce, as the Czechs and Slovaks did. Instead, we elected to keep the NATO option open for Ukraine, knowing that this was a red line for Russia. Never mind that Putin is a wicked fellow; he is a predictably wicked fellow with a well-defined understanding of Russian national interest, and his response to Ukraine’s prospective NATO membership was entirely predictable. After three months of nearly-unanimous media predictions of the collapse of Russia, it now appears that the Russian army is close to controlling the Donbas. Extricating it will be difficult if not impossible. The result, as Henry Kissinger suggested at Davos last week, will be (eventually) a peace in which Ukraine cedes territory to Russia. All the “don’t appease Putin-Hitler” rhetoric will simply make us feel shabbier when we make the deal. We should feel shabby. We screwed this up on the grand scale.

She got in touch with the doctors behind the study at Providence Cancer Institute in Portland, Oregon and after tests revealed her cancer had the same mutation — dubbed KRAS G12D — she was also offered the treatment. Within a month her tumors had shrunk by half, and in six months they were down to 28 percent of their original size. Wilkes is not yet cured, but the cancer has not grown since she received the treatment. She told NBC News: ‘I knew that that was the trial that was going to save me, save my life. I just had that feeling.’
