On Thursday, speaking of federal agencies and their overbearing effect on the American populace which has no recourse to challenge them, Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro said bluntly, “The regulatory state needs to die. A stake needs to be driven through its heart.” Shapiro addressed the CDC and it’s director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, admitting it needed to reorganize. Then he turned to the reluctance by much of the federal bureaucracy to admit that the monkeypox outbreak has been driven by men in the homosexual community. “Best scientific story today,” he stated. “This is from NBC News. So you may have noticed because it’s perfectly obvious that sex between gay men was causing the spread of monkeypox. You may have noticed this because all statistics showed it, that 96% of new monkeypox cases were from men who were having sex with other men.” “But you weren’t allowed to say that,” he noted. “It was ‘skin to skin contact.’” […] “There’s an embedded institutional attitude at the CDC,” he charged. “And these embedded institutional attitudes have a massive impact on how regulation is done, which is why the regulatory state needs to die. A stake needs to be driven through its heart. Instead, rulemaking needs to be done at the legislative level.

The CDC announced that the institutes have done an external/self-study and proposed a makeover “to restore public trust.” Dr. Walensky said that she “plans to remake the culture to help the agency move faster when it responds to a public health crisis. She also wants to make it easier for other parts of the government to work with the CDC, and wants to simplify and streamline the website to get rid of overlapping and contradictory public health guidance.” The CDC’s announcement covers everything except the fundamental problem to which the director and the external reviewer are blind: industry subservience and epidemiologic incompetence. The CDC has published numbers of fatally flawed study reports over the last two years in MMWR, its captive journal. No amounts of “moving faster” will fix this problem. It took the CDC two years to figure out that the vaccines are not an effective public health tool for reducing infection spread, something that I and numerous colleagues have been saying for more than a year.

Former Vice President Pence, who increasingly is making signals he wants to break from Trump’s orbit, has come out condemning those criticizing the FBI. Those remarks are being used by progressives, who want to exploit divisions within the Republican Party. Mr. Pence surely knew this would be the case so what is his angle? What was odd about it was that just on August 9th, he expressed concern over the raid. A week later, he seems to change his tune. “We can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI”, he said. Do you know of any prominent conservative, or even one that is not so prominent, who suggests “attacking rank and file agents?” What is he talking about? Our problem is with leadership, and criticism should not be construed as suggesting violence at all.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday said 20 people who had been disqualified from voting because of felony convictions are now facing voter fraud charges. DeSantis said those charged with voter fraud were from South Florida and had been convicted of murder and sexual assault – which would prohibit them from voting. “This is against the law, and now they’re going to pay the price for it,” DeSantis said. The identities of those charged were not released. If convicted, they face up to five years prison.

The behavior of these woke teachers matters not only because parents – as opposed to the government – are supposed to be in charge of raising their own children, but also because transgenderism is a treacherous ideology that threatens the very underpinnings of both our society and Western civilization as a whole. It is not about homosexuality or bisexuality, which Americans have become increasingly tolerant of in recent years. Many Americans are even supportive of transgender people when they are consenting adults, but they do not support groomers’ efforts to force impressionable children to renounce their birth sex and pretend to be something they are not. The rise of groups such as Gays Against Groomers, whose members are aghast at reports of little kids being forced to attend drag queen performances, shows that plenty of gays recognize it is wrong to push transgender ideology onto children. It is about totalitarian thought control.

Wind turbines require massive amounts of rare earths for their generators and motors. A single wind turbine eats up tons of rare earth metals. Rare earth mining carried out in China is horrifyingly destructive to people and the environment. One story described radioactive lakes, high cancer rates and villagers whose “teeth began to fall out” and “hair turned white at unusually young ages”. “Children were born with soft bones and cancer rates rocketed.” A recent Associated Press story about rare earth mining operations in Burma told of a world where “birds no longer sing, and the herbs no longer grow. The fish no longer swim in rivers that have turned a murky brown.” […] Balsa wood is light, airy and popular for everything from model airplanes to planes. The obsession with green energy has created a massive demand for balsa wood to use in wind turbines. While a story from 2020 about how 14 million trees had been cut down in Scotland to make way for wind farms recently went viral, far more trees are cut down to make turbines. Billions of trees. One wind turbine blade can require as much as 5,300 cubic feet of balsa wood.

Murphy: Study: Australia’s Great Barrier Reef Is Surviving Climate Change Just Fine

The climate hysteria movement is replete with predictions of utter doom for various ecosystems on Earth owing to the scourge of man-made global warming, which has been re-branded “climate change.” But a new study shows that one of those ecosystems — Australia’s Great Barrier Reef — seems to be doing just fine despite dire warnings of its imminent demise. The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system, stretching over 1,400 miles along Australia’s northeast coast off the state of Queensland. It encompasses an area over approximately 133,000 square miles of the Coral Sea in the South Pacific, and includes some 900 islands and more than 2,900 individual reefs. […] But what, exactly, is the Great Barrier Reef recovering from currently? Has so-called climate change already taken its pound of flesh from the delicate ecosystem? While climate hysterics would have you believe that man’s CO₂ emissions and flatulent dairy cows have been destroying the Great Barrier Reef, the reality is much more mundane — and far more reasonable. According to Peter Ridd, an Australian marine geophysicist, the Great Barrier Reef is “one of the most fluctuating ecosystems on earth,” and is distinguished by boom or bust cycles that can last a decade or more. Ridd speculates that a prolonged El Niño pattern has bathed the GBR in relatively warm water since 2016, which causes bleaching of the reef system.
