NOTABLE QUOTES

Eva Fu reporter for The Epoch Times: He pointed to a vote tracking sheet by the Cook Political Report, a bipartisan newsletter that analyzes elections, which shows a roughly 50.7 million Republican turnout for the House—outnumbering Democratic votes by nearly 6 million. Gingrich noted this gap could shrink to 5 million when ballots in deep blue California are fully processed. “But it’s still 5 million more votes,” he said. “And not gaining very many seats makes you really wonder what’s going on,” he added. “I want to know, where did those votes come from?” It’s a puzzle that the former speaker hasn’t been able to solve.

Fred T.  for The Right Scoop: CNN, the New York Times, and the AP have projected, somehow, that Democrat Mark Kelly has won a full term as Senator from Arizona over challenger, Republican Blake Masters. With so many votes still out, it’s a huge surprise to many people that they would call such a close race.

Raheem Kassam on the Jenna Ellis show: Who benefits from this blame game for the 93% success that’s being thrown at Donald Trump? It’s the people who actually fought races that didn’t work out too well. The McLeadership – McCarthy, McDaniel and McConnell. They threw money against Republican candidates where they actually held hand-in-hand with Democrats in some places to stop somebody like Doug Mastriano and some others.

Conservative Guy contributor to The American Mind: I’d like to see a number on how much Republicans spent compared to the Democrats on the races that mattered. Mitch McConnell managed his chip count as you would expect, spending just enough to keep the narrative going on Donald Trump’s inability as party leader and stock picker of talent, and sowing a post-midterm division between Trump and Ron DeSantis. And, in Mitch’s defense, if Trump’s picks had won, he would be out of a job.

Dr. Gina Loudon contributor to National Pulse:  MAGA Republicans should also remember that they also do not simply fight the corporate media, the left, and the far left all at the same time. They also fight the same Republican moderates who are now whipping up division inside the party. Think about it. In the week Republicans retake the House, and probably the Senate, win a host of victories around the country and with more to come – the corporate Republican class wants to pick a fight with the man and the movement that got us here.

Bannister reporter for CNS News: “[T]he GOP establishment and their media surrogates are in full propaganda mode” to support McConnell, but the GOP’s current Senate leader has failed to articulate his party’s agenda – and has even sabotaged its chances to gain a majority in the midterm elections – Levin wrote: “Tell me, what agenda did McConnell promote this election cycle for Republicans to run on?  There was no agenda.”

(Worth your time to watch) The Jenna Ellis Show: MIDTERMS AND DONALD TRUMP: THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

Is the MAGA King’s reign over? Mainstream media and NeverTrumpers would love you to think so, but Raheem Kassam has a more straightforward analysis of the Midterms and why Donald Trump isn’t over and the road to 2024 is still paved by MAGA, Inc. Jenna and Raheem also discuss the DeSantis factor.[Let’s show where the McLeadership (McCarthy, McDaniel & McConnell) have deployed millions of dollars all across the country for the last six or seven years.]

Kassam: Blame Trump for the ‘Red Trickle’? Nonsense.

A flurry of phone calls and texts at 2am taught me that some long-standing MAGA stalwarts are now preparing to ditch Donald Trump because they didn’t get the flood of feel good results last night. This attitude is incorrect, and sober analysis proves it. The “OMG RED WAVE!!!” brigade are now the most vociferously disappointed. They set expectations so high – all the while carrying water for a Republican National Committee and party leadership led by the deeply unpopular Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and Ronna Romney McDaniel. Now they’re upset. Up and down the country, McLeadership candidates and strategies came up short of expectations. Not even all that short, to be fair. But still, deflating enough that people are already playing the blame game. Two can play. Firstly, DC-based Republicans think its enough to run against something, rather than for something.

GOP LEADERSHIP: TIME FOR A CHANGE?

War Room: Russ Vought: America’s 118th Congress Requires Good Leadership, McCarthy’s Not Up To The Task

Russ Vought, President Trump’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, tells host Steve Bannon that he doesn’t think Kevin McCarthy is up to the job of speaker of the House and that Republicans need to send a message to him now that his time as GOP leader is up. “This is an important position… I’ve been a staffer in leadership, and I just know that there is no one in the current team that thinks on a paradigm-shattering level the way we do on this program, the way that Donald Trump does, and so we have an opportunity… now we’re talking about a very very small minority that can deny him [McCarthy] the speakership.”

Murray: Add One More ‘Mc’ to the McFailures — McCain is Back from the Dead to Devour MAGA

Above all though, you most certainly would have been tracking on Arizona, with the polished and viciously pro-American Kari Lake. You would have noticed the massive crowds she drew and her razor-sharp wit — she probably reminded you of President Trump during his glorious tenure. So, understandably, for those outside of Arizona, things aren’t adding up — how is a bathroom-lurking caitiff like Katie Hobbs leading the America First heroine? Well, allow me to explain: the globalist ghost of McCain lives on, and the Uniparty has a stranglehold on Arizona politics, preventing transparent elections and a return to the constitutional conservatism and civil service that Lake embodies. […]  For a state where Republicans held both chambers at the legislature, the attorney general’s office, and the governor’s mansion, one would think that rectifying exploitable or corrupt practices would be easy — but you’d be dead wrong.

Below, you’ll find a few brief points worth noting about the overall sentiment of Republican leadership in Arizona: First off, the Legislature has had two years to pass laws to reform and strengthen the election process. During the 2021 session (which began before Biden was even inaugurated), lawmakers completely ignored the issue; during the 2022 session, there were two attempts made: the first was killed by Republican Speaker of the House Rusty Bowers, and the second was indefinitely tabled by Republicans Senate President Karen Fann because she “didn’t have the votes” — ultimately the bill died when the session ended this past June. Concerned citizens demanded a floor vote to identify the dissenters, but Fann refused. The Swamp doesn’t rat on the Swamp. (You might recognize “Bowers” for his performance in front of the Jan. 6 Committee or his close friendship with Liz Cheney.)

CNS Staff: Republican Sen. Josh Hawley Says He Will Not Vote to Re-Elect McConnell as Senate GOP Leader

Sen. Josh Hawley (R.-Mo.) told RealClearPolitics.com in an interview on Friday that he will not vote to re-elect Sen. Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) as the Republican Senate leader. “He told RCP that he will not vote for him as Republican Senate Leader, regardless of which party controls the Senate,” RealClearPolitics.com reported.  “’I’m not going to support the current leadership in the party,’ he said, citing ‘key decisions’ that were made over the last two years.”

BRANDON: Freedom Caucus Rules Changes Give Republicans Opportunity To Right The Ship On Capitol Hill

If current trends hold, House Republicans are likely to secure their mandate to govern from the American people. Leader Kevin McCarthy, the heir-apparent to the position of Speaker of the House, should therefore welcome the House Freedom Caucus’ rule-change proposals that would bring back regular order to the legislative process. The American people deserve changes that would restore checks and balances, improve transparency, and reassert Congress’ constitutional duty as stewards of the taxpayer. […]  Checks and balances are the foundation of our republic, which is why it is imperative that Leader McCarthy work with his caucus to reinstate the “Motion to Vacate the Chair” — a parliamentary check on House leadership that gives any member the right to call for formal vote on the Speaker’s removal. The rank and file need accountability from the Speaker if McCarthy is going to have their votes. […]  Finally, Leader McCarthy must vow to eliminate the ability to automatically suspend the debt ceiling without a standalone vote when the House adopts a budget resolution. […]  These changes are necessary to prevent House leadership from silencing any form of dissent. One would think that these are common sense reforms that are in line with how we are taught Congress ought to function. Who, then, would oppose such reasonable demands?

2022 MIDTERM ELECTION UPDATES

Weber: Arizona Democrat Sen. Kelly wins reelection over GOP challenger Masters

The Associated Press called the race of Kelly on Friday night. Kelly’s victory bring Democrats within one victory of maintaining their Senate majority. The two remaining races are Nevada Democrat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto vs. GOP challenger Adam Laxalt and Georgia Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock vs. GOP challenger Herschel Walker. The Warnock-Walker is deadlocked and has now moved to runoff race. [Note: Masters has not conceded.]

2022 MIDTERM POST MORTEM

MAJEWSKI: I Am a Republican Who Lost on Tuesday. It Wasn’t Trump’s Fault. It Was the Cowards in D.C.’s ‘McLeadership’.

The corporate media is working overtime to hide the Republican establishment’s failures in the 2022 midterm elections –perpetuating a myth that Donald J. Trump dragged his endorsed candidates down. This is a complete lie, told in order to embolden GOP leaders in Washington D.C., and ignores the fact that in so many instances, this same “McLeadership” set MAGA candidates up for failure. In my situation, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) – led by Chairman Tom Emmer – backed one of my opponents in the primary. She finished in third place, with less than 30 percent of the total Republican vote. Now Tom Emmer wants a promotion. During my primary, the local, establishment GOP shunned me. In fact, the Erie County GOP apparatus even went so far as to write a letter to the local liberal media giving them their endorsement, violating their own charter. Right before the primary, establishment operatives from the Lucas County Young Republican Club posted false images on Twitter claiming I sent messages calling Trump an idiot in an effort to sway him from endorsing me. It worked, in part, thwarting an early endorsement. But Trump still graciously gave me a shout out at the rally in Gallion, Ohio, boosting my standing, which led to my primary win. Right after that, Trump gave me his full endorsement and made a contribution to my campaign. We also had several telephone calls, wherein he offered me his complete support. The NRCC, on the other hand, offered nothing but passive support, dragging their feet behind the scenes. They delayed . . .

Guy: Don’t Crash My Party

Today’s Republican Party demonstrates the problem of putting new wine into old bottles. Those who occupy the commanding heights of established authority are usually boring personalities by necessity, institutional design, and supporting culture. Mediocrity is the rule for the gatekeepers of established power. Think of onetime RNC chairman Reince Priebus—with his Pee Wee Herman good looks, wit, and charm—fielding candidates like Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush, trying to appeal to just enough rank-and-file Republicans in the primary and then general election voters in November to win. My position on the idea animating this symposium is the following: it’s to be expected that the RNC, like any established, institutional political player, will try to exclude folks whom it doesn’t like and who threaten its enduring interests. To do so is to fulfill its cornerstone, self-preservative function. It’s even a term of political science: “The Law of Conservative Exclusion.” (Pure Theory of Politics, Bertrand De Jouvenel, Part IV, Chapter 2, Liberty Fund Press.) […]  If you want to know what happened on a candidate level, follow the money. We are all talking about “candidate quality” as the reason behind the trickle instead of the wave. But it’s hard to accept the candidate-quality mantra, particularly when the only example that we can hang on is Dr. Oz. Fact: the Democrats got behind John Fetterman and outspent Oz, and won.

Moss: What Really Happened in the Midterms and Why

By every account, this was a strange election.  Having had some time to think about it, I have determined the best explanation for November 8 is that this midterm election was intended to turn out pretty much the way it did. Who intended it?  The Republican establishment.  Why?  To get rid of Trump.

How did they do this, and where is the proof?  It wasn’t too hard, and the proof is all around us. This was a midterm election, so there are no real consequences beyond the control of Congress.  This means that if you can control one house, even by a slim margin, you can stall the agenda of the other side. How large a majority you have is secondary and, in the long view, not that meaningful. The establishment Republicans were willing to settle for less than expected numbers in the House to eradicate what they see as by far their biggest problem.  This was their chance to bury Trump and avoid a great deal of damaging unpleasantness at very low to no real cost.

Citizen Free Press: This map shows why Friday night’s Maricopa drop was so weak… Overloaded with dems in south phoenix…

Curious as to where the early votes came from in this evening’s Maricopa drop? The answer is everywhere, but there was a concentration of ballots from South Phoenix. Hence the very favorable D drop.

GINA: The Uniparty NEEDS You To Believe There Was No Trump-Led Red Wave. It’s a Lie. And Here’s Why (And How) They’re Doing It…

The cable news experts keep repeating their new mantra of division, claiming Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is now set up to take out President Trump for 2024. Consider where this information is coming from and what their motivations might be, before you buy into it in the slightest. If Governor DeSantis does in fact wants to be president some day, he should be willing to express his gratitude to President Trump for getting him over the line in 2018. Instead, many DeSantis backers are echoing the sentiments of CNN this week. It’s an unnecessary distraction. The Make America Great Again movement needs a long line of successors to Trump. DeSantis could absolutely be one if he can just be patient. But to try and crown him king of the GOP one day after several of his endorsed candidates lost (and where Trump won 219 out of 235 endorsements) doesn’t really work in America First’s favor. […]  For example, the establishment GOP in Pennsylvania was dead set against Colonel Doug Mastriano, and they worked hand-in-hand with Democrats to defeat him. When your gubernatorial candidate is being attacked from all sides, including your own, your Senate candidate will also be dragged down, along with congressional candidates on the ballot. If the GOP had actually rallied around the top of the ticket – Mastriano and Oz – they could have won together and delivered a down-ticket boost.

(11/11/2022) War Room: Baris: Nevada’s Unsurveilled Ballot Drop Late At Night Greatly Deviates From Previous Ballot Drops

Richard Baris, the People’s Pundit, talks to host Steve Bannon about the vote tabulating in Nevada, which is mysteriously slow just like in next-door Arizona. Adding to the suspicion is a late-night shutdown of the livestream on the vote tabulation in Washoe County. “[Jim] Marchant has fallen behind [in the secretary of state’s race]… The way things are going now something would have to change dramatically in Washoe… At this point [Adam] Laxalt [for senator] is the only one who has a chance in my mind to hang on… But the bottom line here is when your surveillance system goes down in the middle of the night… and then the ballot drop does not match the pattern, people start to get upset.”

TAKE ACTION

The Prickly Pear’s TAKE ACTION focus this year is to help achieve a winning 2024 national and state November 5th election with the removal of the Biden/Obama leftist executive branch disaster, win one U.S. Senate seat, maintain and win strong majorities in all Arizona state offices on the ballot and to insure that unrestricted abortion is not constitutionally embedded in our laws and culture.

Please click the TAKE ACTION link to learn to do’s and don’ts for voting in 2024. Our state and national elections are at great risk from the very aggressive and radical leftist Democrat operatives with documented rigging, mail-in voter fraud and illegals voting across the country (yes, with illegals voting across the country) in the last several election cycles.

Read Part 1 and Part 2 of The Prickly Pear essays entitled How NOT to Vote in the November 5, 2024 Election in Arizona to be well informed of the above issues and to vote in a way to ensure the most likely chance your vote will be counted and counted as you intend.
