An FBI whistleblower told congressional investigators that the D.C. field office pushed local offices to open criminal investigations into Americans based solely on financial transactions Bank of America tracked and voluntarily provided to the bureau, according to testimony reviewed by The Federalist.

“Bank of America, with no directive from the FBI, datamined its customer base,” whistleblower and recently retired FBI supervisory intelligence analyst George Hill told investigators for the House Judiciary Committee, according to Hill’s testimony. Hill had identified himself last month as one of the whistleblowers cooperating with congressional investigators when speaking with Just the News’ John Solomon about the disclosures he made to the House Judiciary Committee during a transcribed deposition. A review of Hill’s testimony confirms the details the military veteran and former longtime FBI and NSA analyst told Solomon. It also reveals more troubling details. […] What the FBI’s other 54 field offices did in response to the D.C. field office’s pressure is unknown. According to a person familiar with Hill’s testimony, Hill had no information on that question either. A judge denied a request from a Jan. 6 defendant to push back the start of her trial to allow time to review about 44,000 hours of Capitol riot footage from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg acknowledged that the ask from defendant Sara Carpenter is “certainly not a frivolous request by any means,” but said the defense failed to clarify why any additional footage would be exculpatory, Politico reported. Carpenter, a retired NYPD officer, is facing two felony charges over the Capitol riot.

Picacho Elementary School District No. 33.

Since the racial reckoning triggered by the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020, corporations have opened their checkbooks and flashed their woke credentials. Much of their spending — by one account more than $200 billion — has been focused on legally and morally questionable programs that give benefits to individuals based solely on the color of their skin. In short, the corporate response to George Floyd was largely to support nonwhite businesses and organizations serving nonwhite communities. But now, in the face of growing lawsuits, and with encouragement from groups like the World Economic Forum, corporations are off-loading their social justice agendas to outside groups. This new type of woke laundering is problematic because corporations are obtaining the publicity they crave (being recognized as a “woke corporation”) while at the same time minimizing or eliminating potential legal liabilities that could result from race discrimination. This is a dangerous moral hazard, especially for a civil society that values equality and nondiscrimination. The path to woke laundering started at the beginning in 2020, when the World Economic Forum encouraged business leaders to turn their companies into . . .

Rrecent Washington Post article starkly displays the evidence-free condescension of the Left. In the guise of news, Post reporters Ashley Parker and Liz Goodwin assert that Republicans are too muddled to attack woke ideology because purportedly they can’t define “woke,” and besides, any attack on wokeism is—naturally—racist. Parker and Goodwin effectively warn whites who oppose progressive dogma to keep the word “woke” out of their racist mouths. Like the “N-word,” “woke” is reserved only to people of color and those who pretend to support them, though even the use of “woke” by progressives apparently is cultural appropriation. Debate about wokeism is racist because, unknown to almost all of us, before being “co-opted” by whites, “woke” purportedly had its origin in a long-forgotten 1938 protest song “The Scottsboro Boys.” Parker and Goodwin incorrectly write that in that song blues singer Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter “urges Black America to ‘stay woke’ to social and political injustice as well as physical violence.” In fact, Ledbetter’s reference came in an unmemorable spoken afterword, here at 04:31, as a warning against physical danger, not social justice. Both before and after 1938, urging people to “stay awake” to danger was common. […] Accusing those who oppose wokeism of racism is calumny, without a scintilla of substance.

Groff involves United States Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier Gerald Groff, a Christian, who holds uncontested sincere religious beliefs about resting, worshiping, and not working on his Sunday Sabbath. After he joined USPS in 2012, USPS contracted with Amazon in 2013 to provide mail deliveries on Sundays. Initially, USPS accommodated Groff’s Sunday Sabbath observance but later required him to work Sundays.

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is pushing the state legislature to adopt legislation that would set up a commission on “domestic terrorism.” According to a report, this could lead to conservative individuals being criminally charged for expressing their views. KTTH’s Jason Rantz described this legislation, known as HB 1333, as the “most dangerous” in Washington state’s history in his report Wednesday. He says Washington state is setting up a 1984-style Ministry of Truth. As Gateway Pundit readers know, the Biden regime attempted to create one at the federal level last year, before backing off three weeks later after vociferous public criticism. According to the Center Square, HB 1333 would create a so-called Domestic Violent Extremism Commission (DVE) in the Attorney General’s office. The 13 members on the commission are asked to recommend legislative “solutions to combat disinformation and misinformation, address early signs of radicalization, and develop a public health-style response.”

[…] Data shows approximately 1.45% of the NICS background checks processed in 2020 received a final transaction status of deny, with 1.26% receiving a final status of deny in 2021.

[…] I don’t expect there will ever be a full accounting for governments’ disastrous responses to the covid virus, but the release of the Lockdown Files is a good start.
