But I want to talk about how you can save the nation. The ideology of critical race theory puts, at its core, in its center, that race is the most important thing in a student’s life. That skin color is the most important thing in how their life is going to develop. It’s an extremely pernicious ideology. If you wanted to think of a way to tear this country apart, it’s hard to think of a way better than what they are doing. You are pitting students against each other based on skin color. You are pitting students against their parents. There was that horrible incident that just happened where a little girl testified how at school they told her, don’t tell your parents about what you’re being taught. And she had testified before the school committee that that made her uncomfortable but her mom told her that you can tell me anything, but at school they were telling her not to tell about critical race theory. And if people have something to hide, there’s usually a reason for that. It pits students against our economic system of capitalism.

Roberts: Why the Dollar-based International System Is Breaking Up

The Federal Reserve’s higher interest rates after 12 years of zero interest rates are devaluing the asset side of banks’ balance sheets. This frightens depositors and they withdraw their deposits. Depositors also are withdrawing their money because they can get much higher interest rates on safe US Treasuries. According to some reports, $1 trillion has already been withdrawn from US banks. Bloomberg is reporting rumors that Schwab’s $7 Trillion empire based on low rates is cracking from bond losses. In the face of this vulnerability of the financial system, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates further.

There is also the problem of the currency and interest rate derivatives. No one knows the risk in these instruments. The US dollar itself is declining in use as world reserve currency. Alarmed by Washington’s weaponization of the dollar with sanctions and confiscations, much of the world is arranging to abandon the dollar’s use to settle international trade accounts, but the supply of dollars is not declining. This implies a fall in the dollar’s exchange value. The offshoring of manufacturing and food production has made the US heavily dependent on imports. A loss in the dollar’s exchange value resulting from countries settling their trade balances in other currencies means a sharp rise in US inflation. The Federal Reserve hasn’t the intelligence to think through the consequences of its higher interest rate policy.

The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft is the lead plaintiff in the case against the Biden administration’s extensive censorship industrial complex.This morning Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, and Attorney John Sauer testified before Jim Jordan’s Hearing on the Weaponization of the Federal Government committee, along with pro-censorship law professor Matthew Seligman from Stanford. During the “hearing on censorship,” the Democrats attempted to strike testimony from two of the GOP witnesses.

Sundance: Rand Paul Shreds Josh Hawley Over “Restrict Act” While Blocking Unanimous Consent and Reminding About Constitution and “Bills of Attainder”

Senator Josh Hawley took to the Senate floor yesterday to present a modified version of the “Restrict Act” as an alternative to the complete government takeover of all internet content – a worthy endeavor. Hawley tried to strip out the DHS takeover component of the Restrict Act, and just present a bill that bans TikTok. Senator Rand Paul refused to permit Unanimous Consent for the bill to proceed immediately to a vote. Senator Paul slows down the Senate deliberations while asking some bigger questions. The entire Hawley -vs- Paul debate is worth watching (there are two videos, one long – one short). I sense that Hawley’s intent is good, but Rand Paul is on the right side of the argument. The American people have never, not once, benefited from any legislative endeavor such as what is being proposed in the effort to ban TikTok. It’s not about TikTok, it’s about freedom.

Recent rumblings in the Senate regarding drug pricing “transparency” have many Americans puzzled. On one hand, who could possibly oppose transparency? Surely we all support efforts to promote candor and accountability in our health-care system. And yet, knowing as we do the tendency of bureaucrats and politicians to use euphemisms to mask more sinister motives, we owe it to ourselves to dig deeper. At issue is a proposed law, S.127, the “PBM Transparency Act.” On the face of it, this bill purports to impose greater oversight and stricter reporting requirements on obscure entities in our medical system known as “pharmacy benefit managers,” or PBMs for short. PBMs offer their services to Medicare, health insurance companies, unions, and businesses big and small, negotiating with the wholesalers of prescription drugs in order to lower prices. By one estimate, PBMs save the average American around $1,000 per year.

[…] . . . provisions in the bill seem to authorize the Federal Trade Commission, the Government Accountability Office, and potentially state attorneys general to access medical records and information in unprecedented ways. […] . . . Act percolates in the Senate, it behooves us to ask whether something much more important than padding the profits of drugmakers is taking place. Americans should keep a close eye on this bill, and they should demand of their senators: 1) that they explain why a crackdown on PBMs is necessary in the first place, 2) that they undertake to protect patient privacy and never to impose a Covid vaccine mandate on anyone, and 3) . . .

Wile: Weeks before DeSantis takeover, Disney gave itself new powers over special Orlando district, document shows

Just weeks before Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new, hand-picked board to take over Disney’s long-held special governing district in Orlando, the entertainment giant created a declaration that said any changes to the district must be made to benefit Walt Disney World. The development threatens to reignite the spat between DeSantis and Disney. The disagreement reached a tipping point last year amid Disney’s opposition to a state law banning the teaching of gender and sexual orientation to students from kindergarten to third grade. The Feb. 8 document, first reported by the Orlando Sentinel, grants Disney “prior review and comment” over any changes made to properties in the district, formerly known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District and now known as the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

The New York lawmaker asked Yoel Roth, the former head of trust and safety at Twitter, about the account in a February Oversight hearing: ‘Are you aware… that from August 11th to August 16th that account posted false information about Boston Children’s Hospital claiming that they were providing hysterectomies to children?’
