On August 1, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Donald Trump’s legal bills are consuming his campaign coffers. The article contained a graph showing the rising legal expenses relative to non-legal expenses for Trump’s “Save America” Political Action Committee. These numbers are troubling. By the end of 2022, Trump’s legal expenses had consumed half of the PAC’s campaign spending. By the first quarter 2023, they had consumed nearly 90% of the spending and, by the second quarter 2023, they had exceeded 90% of total spending. This raises serious questions about election interference. We tend to think of election interference as a fraudulent or nefarious activity directly connected to the election itself, whether by manipulating voting machines, ballot harvesting, paying for votes, registering votes from incompetent or non-existent people, voter intimidation, vote-count manipulation, etc. But in the United States, we overlook the most obvious form of election interference that’s common throughout the world and throughout history: political prosecution.

Against the free passes the Obama-Biden DOJ gave the Biden family, Hilary Clinton, Lois Lerner, thousands of rioters after George Floyd’s death, and protestors at the homes of Supreme Court justices, the rupture is complete. This is not the America for which millions of our citizens fought a war of independence, the Civil War, and two world wars. On 10/21/20 First Lieutenant Mike Anderson was contacted by Tom Fabus, Chief of Investigations for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s Office. According to the MI State Police report, Fabus asked for Michigan State Police assistance with a joint investigation of alleged voter fraud being conducted by the Muskegon Police Department and the AG. An investigative task force was formed, and an investigation was initiated. […] When the police inspected the GBI Strategies office near Muskegon they found semiautomatic guns, silencers/suppressors, burner phones, a bag of pre-paid cash cards, and incomplete registrations, in an office space that was styled as an eyeglasses store that had gone defunct. There were never any arrests. And the investigation was turned over to the FBI where it went to die, just like all of the other Democrat voter fraud investigations. Critics are sounding the alarm on the ecological consequences of the Biden administration’s green energy agenda, specifically the increase marine wildlife deaths in conjunction with offshore wind farms.

The 56,000 transactions add up to more than $325 million, according to OpenTheBooks, though the individual amounts for each payment and corresponding license are not listed in the records.

While he had undeniable gifts in that department, as someone who attended a number of his speeches in person, I never quite understood all the praise. Setting aside his career-making “red states, blue states” speech at the 2004 Democratic convention — a plea for political moderation he spent his time in office repudiating — the only memorable things Obama said were either campaign pablum such as “hope and change,” or remarks that were unintentionally revealing. In the latter category, my personal favorite remark was this comment about congressional Republicans from 2013: “We’re going to try to do everything we can to create a permission structure for them to be able to do what’s going to be best for the country,” he said. “Permission structure” is a phrase that’s been used by marketing executives for many years, and was apparently in common usage at the Obama White House. The idea is “based on an understanding that radically changing a deeply held belief and/or entrenched behavior will often challenge a person’s self-identity and perhaps even leave them feeling humiliated about being wrong. … Permission Structures serve as scaffolding for someone to embrace change that they might otherwise reject.”

Many good people whom I respect tell me that the Marxist left have already won and that there is no longer any point in fighting. I disagree for many reasons, but I will list three: (1) History is simply saturated with pivotal moments that radically altered what otherwise appeared to be the course of destiny. In fact, I would say that history is really written only when good men and women find their backs against the wall and realize that the only way to preserve their free will is to fight like hell and buck everything that stands against them. Suffering has a tendency to focus the mind and strengthen resolve. Character truly reveals itself only when it is tested. I’ll take a spirited and courageous insurgency that knows why it is fighting over an army of automatons enfeebled by groupthink. (2) When fighting evil, there are no half-measures. There is no point when you kick back, light a cigarette, and say to yourself, “Dang, evil sure did get the best of me this time.” Huh-uh. You fight evil even if you find yourself hanging with fingertips from a cliff’s edge while the devil is smirking above and crushing your hand. It doesn’t matter how compromised you feel; all you have to do is tell the devil to stick it where the sun don’t shine. Your refusal to submit is your greatest weapon. Others will find inspiration in your indefatigability and push ahead, too. (3) Even if you think things are irreversibly bad, apathy guarantees that they will get only worse. There will be a time in the future when you are being forcefully herded onto a train car headed for who knows where, and you will think to yourself, “If only I had resisted earlier…” Now ask yourself, “What would I be willing to do today to avoid that train car tomorrow?” If fighting back is never going to get any easier, then that makes today the best day to begin kicking and screaming against what’s already barreling down the track. U.S. District Court Judge Brantley Starr ruled that Southwest Airlines lawyers Kerrie Forbes, Kevin Minchey, and Chris Maberry undergo religious freedom classes after failing “to mention Title VII” to their employees, despite a previous court ruling ordering them to “specifically” inform employees of their religious rights under Title VII, according to a court filing signed on Monday. The court’s ruling comes after Charlene Carter was awarded more than $5 million in July 2022, after being fired for her religious and political beliefs on abortion.

Merriam: Why Affirmative Action Won’t Die
A feeling of triumph has flushed through the conservative ranks this summer with the Supreme Court’s blockbuster decision in Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) v. Harvard College and SFFA v. University of North Carolina to invalidate Harvard’s and UNC’s affirmative action programs. And it’s true that there is much in the SFFA opinion to celebrate. But the decision will not end, or even do much to threaten, affirmative action programs. As I have explained elsewhere, unless we get a legal and cultural paradigm shift in how we think about diversity and the civil rights regime, affirmative action is here to stay. There is a kind of affirmative action amnesia that sets in at such moments, causing us to forget how long the practice has been in place and how many times we have erroneously predicted the program’s demise.

In 2020, the State Department had cited Pro Familia in its human rights report despite its ugly history of pedophilia or the fact that it had been founded by a racial eugenicist who had served the Nazis.
