This requirement is the law. The regulations were authorized by Congress under 5 U.S.C. 301, 509, 510, 515-519.
The attorney general is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. It is certainly expected that he would obey the law in its entirety.
If he feels that somehow there is an applicable exception to this requirement, he is obliged to explain why.
Special counsel is supposed to be independent of the current government, not an employee….
Democrats frequently say that no one is above the law. Yet they have been silent about Garland apparently placing himself above the law in choosing Weiss in violation of governing legal regulations.
[I]t is within the powers of Congress to summon Garland and ask him to explain why he believes he is justified in ignoring a federal regulation that seems to limit his authority to appoint special counsels.

One would expect a Chief of Staff to the President of the United States to do these sorts of things…. This is precisely the kind of state interference in a federal official’s duties that the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution prohibits, and that the removal statute shields against.” Mark Meadows has invoked a federal statute that allows removal of a case from state to federal court where the issue in the state case is the defendant’s conduct as a federal official. In the case of Meadows, all of his actions were in the context of him being Trump’s White House Chief of Staff, and none of his conduct in and of itself was criminal. He is looped into this because under conspiracy theories (including RICO) even lawful actions in furtherance of in illegal conspiracy could render the defendant liable. From Meadow’s Notice of Removal filed in federal court in the Northern District of Georgia: . . . […] Trump may have a more difficult time removing the case since he was a political candidate and his conduct was not as president. But as the Meadows Notice demonstrates, there is a fairly low bar to removal and any “plausible” claim that the conduct charged was in the context of an official federal capacity should suffice. Other defendants who were not serving in any federal capacity at the time would not be able to invoke the statute.

Only now the stakes for Israel and the region are much higher: Iran, an enemy sworn to “wiping Israel off the map,” is dangerously close to possessing nuclear weapons. In addition, they continue to transfers missiles and drones to Israel’s enemies like Hezbollah, hosted by hostile neighboring Lebanon.

President Joe Biden has slashed funding for a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating digital crimes against children, War Room can reveal. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program (ICAC) – the target of these cuts – is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces comprised of over 5,400 federal, state, and local law enforcement“ dedicated to investigating, prosecuting and developing effective responses to internet crimes against children.” One of the key areas of focus is human trafficking in addition to the sexual exploitation of children. Despite operating as the leading entity combatting the sexual exploitation of children online, since President Joe Biden took office, the ICAC program has seen a reduction in its operating budget of millions of dollars. In the last fiscal year under President Donald Trump, the program’s budget totaled $34.73 million before seeing a slight decrease in fiscal year 2021, coinciding with Biden’s takeover of the White House, to $34.68 million. In the first full fiscal year under President Biden, the ICAC program budget was cut nearly $3.5 million to the newfound total of $31.2 million. The downward spending trend is at odds with the ever-increasing trajectory of online content containing child exploitation. As outlined in an analysis published by comparitech:

Unfortunately, these tactics have oftentimes been successful in affecting the mindset of a sizable percentage of the American people. With this media behemoth unequivocally supporting them, it is little wonder that the Democrats are so shameless in persecuting Trump and protecting Biden. Abrams lost the race for governor in Georgia in 2018 to then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp by 1.4 percentage points. Due to the small margin of victory, Abrams refused to formally concede her loss because she believed the election was “tainted” which led to the “disinvestment and disenfranchisement of thousands of voters.” In her “non-concession speech,” the Democrat admitted that Kemp “will be certified as the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election” but stopped short of officially agreeing that she lost. “To be clear, this is not a speech of concession. Concession means to acknowledge an action is right, true, or proper. As a woman of conscience and faith, I cannot concede,” Abrams said. The activist threatened lawsuits but never provided evidence for her claims that black voters’ votes were being suppressed at the polls. Instead of facing punishment for her lies, Abrams was elevated by her party and the corporate media as the face of their attempt to permanently manipulate elections ahead of Trump’s second and third runs. She was so encouraged by this attention that she ran and lost against Kemp again in 2022.

With presidents Kirchner, Macri and now Fernandez, the leftist ‘peronists’ have transformed Argentina into an unmitigated train-wreck, a decadent country where annual inflation is over 100%. The situation is so bad that the Argentineans descended from their high horse, left behind their regional leadership pretensions, and go around hat in hand asking the Brazilian government for help. And yet, if we were to believe the MSM, we’d come to the (wrong) conclusion that the real danger to Argentina is the most voted candidate in the primary elections, Javier Milei.
