Think tanks contend that the radicalization of attorney education threatens American freedom in a never-before-seen way. In almost every state, law students who pass their state bar examination, which allows them to practice law, take an oath to support the U.S. Constitution. But the country’s top law schools teach future lawyers and judges the opposite. Many now teach that the U.S. Constitution, the supreme law of the nation since its ratification in 1788, is broken and should be scrapped. At least that’s what two members of conservative think tanks believe after reviewing courses at the country’s Top 10 law schools, as ranked by U.S. News and World Report in 2022. They examined the teaching at Yale, Stanford, Harvard, and Columbia universities and others. Law professors at elite schools are open about their disdain for the U.S. Constitution, the researchers found. “They’re saying they want to get rid of the Constitution—they’re making no secret about it,” said J. Christian Adams, president and general counsel of the Public Interest Legal Foundation. He’s also worked for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center and former DOJ counsel, agreed. The radicalization of law schools is a threat to freedom not previously encountered in the nation’s history, Mr. von Spakovsky said. “In fact, some of them are very direct in teaching kids that they need to be revolutionaries, according to these courses that these law school students are taking,” he told The Epoch Times.

No mugshots for criminals. Only for political opponents. One of the many pro-crime initiatives embarked on by the Democrats, under the influence of the Left, was an end to publishing mugshots. Gov. Cuomo and New York’s Democrat legislature shut down the publication of mugshots. Gov. Newsom in California passed a law banning the release of mugshots for non-violent offenders. Utah barred publishing mugshots until a conviction has been achieved. So have a number of other states. Pro-crime laws like these made it hard to warn the public or identify a suspect. […] But the same pro-crime Left that is against mugshots gleefully splashed those of former President Trump and his associates across social media and its news sites.

While Mr. Smith empaneled a grand jury in Miami to indict President Trump in Florida, the special counsel was also using an out-of-state grand jury in Washington, possibly in hopes of adding charges in the case, which accuses the former president of inappropriately keeping national defense secrets at his Mar-a-Lago home. Earlier in August, Florida-based federal Judge Aileen Cannon reprimanded Mr. Smith for his use of the Washington grand jury and demanded that he justify its use. […] She imposed a deadline of Aug. 22 for the government to respond. The matter of the out-of-state grand jury was addressed by Mr. Smith’s team in a new filing (pdf) on Aug. 22, which indicates that its use has ended. The DC grand jury “completed its term on August 17, 2023,” wrote David Harbach, one of Mr. Smith’s deputies, in the filing.

Two distinguished climate scientists have filed with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a 45-page comment on the proposed regulation the EPA announced on May 11, 2023, setting emission standards that would require nearly all of coal- and gas-powered plants in the U.S.to capture almost all—90 percent—of their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2038 or shut down. In their comment, William Happer, professor of physics, emeritus, Princeton University, and Richard Lindzen, professor of Earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences, emeritus, make both a legal and a scientific case that the EPA’s proposed new rule is based on ideologically driven polices with no basis in legitimate climate science. In a document that appears to be the prelude to filing a lawsuit to block the EPA from implementing the proposed regulation, Happer and Lindzen lay out a science-based case arguing that the new EPA rules designed to limit the use of hydrocarbon fuels in the nation’s power plants could end up reducing the world’s food supply so dramatically that billions of people worldwide would be at risk of death by starvation. […] By emphasizing the benefit of increased CO2 to the production of food, Happer and Lindzen also expose the depopulation ambitions of the IPCC elite pushing an energy transition to wind, solar, and batteries.

The legal claims stipulated in Jack Smith’s latest indictment are spurious, constitutionally unfounded, and patently unlawful. The overriding theory of Smith’s case is that Donald Trump conspired to defraud the United States and obstruct an official election proceeding as president. The Smith indictment further stipulates a “conspiracy against rights,” which again goes to the President’s alleged scheme to knowingly conspire to deprive Americans of their right to vote and have their votes counted fairly. As will be discussed below, each one of these claims are easily discreditable, and have no basis whatsoever in law or fact.

Under count one, 18 U.S. Code § 371, the United States improperly brought a criminal charge for fraud using a statute that the Supreme Court has circumscribed repeatedly over many years to apply specifically to financial crimes only. Thus, no matter how many times Jack Smith insists and repeats that President Trump “knowingly” deceived the American people of election fraud does not make it true. Furthermore, Jack Smith does exactly what he accused President Trump and his cadre of “co-conspirators” of doing in his indictment: by “reverse engineering” statutes and shoehorning them into criminal statutes for which they were never intended, Smith manifests wholly novel and ahistorical legal theories, out of thin air, without even a gesture to the countervailing historical and legal record for which they were originally designed and to which they have only ever been applied by courts.

The US Department of Justice is suing Elon Musk’s SpaceX over allegations that it discriminated against asylees and refugees in hiring. In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday, the DOJ claims that, from at least September 2018 to May 2022, SpaceX discouraged refugees and asylees from applying to the company “by wrongly stating that SpaceX can only hire U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.” […] The lawsuit indicates that SpaceX has been on the DOJ’s radar for some time.

Piper: Stanford accused of rebooting CIA mind-control project with ‘news source trustworthiness ratings’

A proposal in a Stanford University journal for “news source trustworthiness ratings” would, if it advances, be like a digital reboot of the CIA’s psychedelic mind-control experiments from the Cold War era, says a former State Department cyber official who now leads a online free speech watchdog group.

The psychological manipulation used in the experiments – known as Project MK-ULTRA and the subject of congressional hearings in 1977 – is reflected in the Journal of Online Trust and Safety study, conducted by researchers at U.S. and Italian universities, says Mike Benz, the former State Department official who now leads the watchdog group Foundation for Freedom Online. “The whole point” of the study “is you don’t even need fact-checkers to fact-check the story,” a labor-intensive endeavor across the internet, if social media platforms simply apply a “scarlet letter” to disfavored news sources, Benz told Just the News. The V-safe website simply states: “Thank you for your participation. Data collection for COVID-19 vaccines concluded on June 30, 2023.” If you go there today, V-safe directs users to the FDA’s VAERS website for adverse event reporting, even though officials continually derided VAERS as “passive” and “unverified.” […] Does this mean that the CDC believes that the mRNA Covid-19 injections are so safe, there is no need to monitor adverse event reports any longer? What is the argument against continued monitoring, especially since the V-safe website was already up and paid for? While CDC’s V-safe was stealthily and abruptly turned off, refusing to accept new safety reports, to this very day the CDC continues to urge everyone ages 6 months and older to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis opposed more funding unless European states stepped up to “pull their weight.” Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy said he would immediately cut off U.S. military aid. Former President Trump has taken a slightly different approach, calling on Congress to withhold military support for Ukraine until the Biden administration cooperates with congressional investigations into his son Hunter’s business dealings. The former President also has said that if elected, he would negotiate a quick end to the war. Several debaters strongly disagreed . . . But the source text for social and political upheaval is Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven’s far more detailed and authoritative 1997 manual, “The Breaking of the American Social Compact.” The Cloward-Piven strategy seeks to hasten the fall of the free market and the republican structure of government by overloading the administrative apparatus with an avalanche of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis mode and eventual economic collapse. Choking the welfare rolls, for example, would serve to generate a political and financial meltdown, break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears, and bring the system crashing down. The fear, turmoil, and violence accompanying such a debacle would provide the perfect conditions for fostering radical change. We see the strategy in action today, . . . […] US officials have inexplicably welded open 114 massive gates along the Arizona border to allow water to flow freely during the annual monsoon season and for the migration of an endangered species of antelope, officials said. But the move is also letting an average of 1,400 migrants from as far away as China casually walk into the country daily — with overwhelmed and outnumbered border agents practically helpless to stop them. “We thought the agents were going to tell us something,” one Ecuadorean migrant said. “But we just walked in.” A woman from Cuba described it as “so easy” compared to the hard “journey through Mexico.” […] The 12-foot wide gates have supposedly been open for two months. Wilson: FEMA Holds Employee Trainings on ‘White Supremacy’ As More Than 1,000 Hawaiians Remain Missing

The federal government agency tasked with leading the response to natural disasters has its hands full as more than 1,000 Americans remain missing following wildfires that devastated the Hawaiian island of Maui. FEMA nonetheless is mandating a three-hour diversity training for employees that argues, among other things, that white supremacy is “ingrained in nearly every system and institution in the U.S.” While it’s unclear how many of FEMA’s 20,000-plus employees were required to complete the training, internal emails reviewed by the Free Beacon indicate that the agency’s “resilience” division was advised of a requirement to complete one of three three-hour diversity training modules between Aug. 1 and Sept. 28. “FEMA Resilience” works to “help communities across the United States equitably adapt, survive, recover and thrive in the face of natural disasters” and boasts roughly 2,600 employees, according to someone familiar. The division is led by Biden administration appointee Victoria Salinas, the agency’s website says.

That opinion discovered, 227 years after the Constitution’s ratification, that the Equal Protection clause demands acceptance of same-sex marriage, though one wonders if real acceptance can ever be demanded. Many thought the decision would lay to rest sexual politics, since marriage had long been the end goal for activists. But the opposite has happened: Far from settling sexual politics, Obergefell has escalated its demands. Now the country is told to accept the overt sexualization of kids with “Drag Queen Story Hour” and parade chants like, “We’re here! We’re queer! We’re coming for your children!” Worse, current gender ideology promotes Frankenstein procedures, monstrously called . . . […] So promoting vice is actually a means of controlling people, though the vice is always packaged as freedom, or pleasure, or some other ostensible good. In reality, however, vice is a weapon and self-indulgence is a weakness and both displace self-control with external control. Thus, as sexual indulgence grows, so does government control (think adultery, then divorce court), since citizens without internal, self-governance require outside, state governance. Inevitably, they get tyranny. The way out? The only way out of our current dystopic age of gender mania and sexual degeneracy is, . . .

Emergency room workers at a St. Louis children’s hospital that houses a popular gender clinic said they worry that the young trans-identifying patients showing up at the ER in crisis are never “told no” when it comes to hormone treatments. In February, Jamie Reed, a former case manager at the Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital went public with explosive whistleblower allegations that the gender clinic had hastily put children with significant psychiatric issues on gender hormone treatments. Reed also alleged that the clinic did not make sure children and their families were fully aware of the side effects, some of which are serious. At the same time, emergency room staff at the hospital started seeing a spike in trans-identifying children showing up every day in psychiatric crisis, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

The article begins by discussing who might benefit (along with actual women) from such a procedure. Among those likely to be interested in UTx are transwomen who want to gestate their own children, transwomen who want uterus transplants to consolidate their identities but not to gestate children, some transmen who want to gestate their own children, and cismen wanting to gestate children of their own. […] Of course, such surgeries are not cheap. Many other savage criminals are released from America’s prisons every year. Many more never even make it to prison in the first place, because of the tremendous influence of activists and their political allies who allege we “overpunish.” Radical criticism of our criminal justice system has become ever bolder over the past few decades. Arguments for the abolition of prison are commonplace on college campuses and in the pages of the nation’s newspapers. Barry Latzer, an emeritus professor of criminal justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, has written a muscular response to these radicals in The Myth of Overpunishment. The first half of the book deals with the history of punishment in America. Early on, it was often straightforwardly vicious. From the colonial era through the 19th century, punishment typically entailed intensely cruel public spectacle. As “colonial maim-and-shame” gave way to the prison system, brutality remained the norm. Latzer describes the “shower bath”—an early form of waterboarding—as a frequent punishment in the early prison system. […] The 20th century saw the birth of the progressive approach to punishment, which purported to apply scientific principles to the field. Efforts to discover—and sometimes to invent—ways in which mental pathology produced crime increased. Sterilization of the “criminogenic” became a tool in the punitive apparatus. Beyond this pseudo-scientific social Darwinism, the rise of progressivism also meant the gradual turning away from brutal punishments and toward more supposedly humane methods of dealing with crime.

[…] So, American homes should be safe from the Zhivago treatment, right? […] What are radical, globalist mayors and lieutenant governors to do when they find themselves with egg on their faces? They expect regular Janes and Joes to clean up their mess. In June of this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams asked everyday New Yorkers to consider housing migrants in spare rooms in their private residences. More recently, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll jumped on the bandwagon and appealed to Bay State residents to “host” migrants in “an extra room or suite.” […] So far, these measures seem to have been taken with the cooperation (and compensation) of property owners. […] If they’re comfortable disregarding immigration laws, simply because they dislike them, what’s to stop them from disregarding private property laws that interfere with their political agenda?

What we see forming now is further evidence of the great energy cleaving. As most western nations chase the World Economic Forum’s priority around ‘climate change’, the BRICS alliance hedges for more traditional energy sources (oil, natural gas, coal). China will benefit the most as the Western industrial economies will not be able to compete in a global market using windmills and solar panels. The western alliance (yellow) will be chasing climate change energy policy to power their economies. The rest of the world (grey) will be using traditional and more efficient energy development. The global cleaving around energy use would be complete.

Imanuelsen: Norway LOCKED Man in Psychiatric Ward for Questioning mRNA Shots

This is about a Norwegian man named Trond Harald Haaland. He has long been outspoken about things like the World Economic Forum, climate change and vaccine passports. He has posted a lot about the excess death rates we have been seeing after the roll out of the mRNA vaccines. In other words, this is a man who does not believe the mainstream media narrative. He thinks for himself. And he has been actively criticizing the Norwegian health system for what happened during the pandemic. Among other things, earlier this year he sent a letter to a very senior doctor in his region to demand a stop to covid vaccination of children 5 to 11 years old. Now someone had anonymously reported him to the police for being “mentally unstable”. We have no idea who it was. Could be anyone. It could be some antifa extremist that had reported him for all we know. Then the police contacted the health system based on this anonymous tip.

That is all that was needed for two “health care workers” together with two uniformed police officers to arrive at his door and forcibly haul the man away and lock him up in a psychiatric ward.
