Trump is facing four indictments, including in Georgia and Washington, D.C., pertaining to alleged 2020 election crimes, where judges have placed restrictions on his speech regarding the cases. However, it will be difficult to enforce the ordered limitations due to Trump’s presidential candidacy, as well as his relationships with the individuals involved in the cases, legal experts told the DCNF.
“The fact that he’s a presidential candidate absolutely gives him enhanced First Amendment protections,” Article III Project founder Mike Davis told the DCNF. “This is core political speech.”

A new bill from Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas would keep Biden administration bureaucrats at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from meddling with veterans’ Second Amendment right to buy and own guns. The legislation, introduced on Friday by Reps. Roy, Eli Crane of Arizona, Lance Gooden of Texas, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Andy Harris of Maryland, and Mary Miller of Illinois, specifically bars the VA from sending veterans’ names to the Department of Justice to be added to the federal government’s no-gun list. Currently, the VA forces any veterans who want to appoint a fiduciary to manage their benefits to risk losing their Second Amendment rights. The expressed purpose of the fiduciary program, according to the VA, is “to protect Veterans and beneficiaries who are unable to manage their VA benefits through the appointment and oversight of a fiduciary.”

It also suggests Weiss and the DOJ may have conspired to mislead Congress. Edward Lang, who was arrested and charged for his role in the riot after he posted photos and videos on social media placing him at the Capitol that day, filed a petition with the Court on Friday. What do you think of when you hear “placebo-controlled clinical trial?” Most people familiar with the term will understand it to be the standard way many drugs are tested in order to determine efficacy and safety before they are licensed and marketed to the general public. It’s usually understood to involve a pharmacologically inactive or inert pill with no active ingredient producing no medical effect as part of a control group used to draw a comparison between it and the experimental drug under inspection. But if you thought that this is what is used to test the safety of vaccines, you’d be wrong. Paul Offit, pediatrician and renowned vaccinologist, and ICAN (Informed Consent Action Network) lawyer Aaron Siri had a Twitter bout on the issue of placebos and vaccine safety in late June. The exchange began when Siri responded to a statement in Offit’s article, “Should Scientists Debate the Undebatable.” Offit, whose article is a response to Robert Kennedy Jr.’s comments on the Joe Rogan Show, wrote “All vaccines are tested in placebo-controlled trials before licensure.” Siri then responds to Offit with… “Virtually all childhood vaccines on the CDC government schedule, including Rotateq (Offit’s invention, along with Fred Clark and Stanley Plotkin), were not licensed by US FDA based on a placebo-controlled trial. Pearce: GOP Rep Investigating J6 Demands Unredacted Records From White House
Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia is demanding that the White House turn over a number of transcripts of interviews with the House Select Committee on January 6. Loudermilk heads the House Administration Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and is leading an audit of the disbanded January 6 committee’s investigation into the Capitol riot. Loudermilk revealed earlier this month that the January 6 committee did not keep all of its records, and that some are being held by the White House and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “[T]he White House is in possession of records that are the property of the U.S. House of Representatives, including testimony provided to the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol,” Loudermilk wrote in a Friday letter to the White House obtained by NBC News. “These records must be returned immediately in their original form without alteration or redaction.”

Pearce: U.S. To Begin Training Ukrainian F-16 Pilots In Arizona
Air Force Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder announced the plans on Thursday, but was unable to give a definite number of Ukrainian pilots or maintainers who are expected to receive training beginning in October. Ryder said that “several pilots with upwards of dozens of maintainers” are expected to participate.

They don’t file asylum or other immigration-related claims – they intentionally illegally enter to avoid being caught. Many have criminal records. They often run when they are pursued by Border Patrol agents or others in law enforcement, authorities tell The Center Square. They do not want to be caught. The majority of gotaways are single, military age men. However, they also include women and children, many who are smuggled, law enforcement officers say.

The events and secrecy led to Sage running away from her rural Virginia home, only to be captured by a sex trafficker and taken to Baltimore, Maryland, where she was held in a locked room and raped by multiple men, the lawsuit said. But the girl’s saga didn’t end there. When the FBI recovered her, a Baltimore public defender named Aneesa Khan — a target of the lawsuit — worked to keep the girl in Maryland until her parents accepted her gender transition. The mother had not refused to accept her child’s transition because she did not even know about it, but Khan threw away the letters that Michelle Blair was sending her and led the girl to believe that she had been abandoned by her parents, the lawsuit said.

A little more than half of the men housed in Wisconsin Department of Corrections facilities who identify as transgender women have been convicted of at least one count of sexual assault or sexual abuse. The revelation comes from Wisconsin Department of Corrections records obtained by The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project through an April 2022 public records request. The Oversight Project sought information on biologically male inmates seeking transfers to female prisons by saying they identified as transgender females. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation) “Men belong with men and men only in prison,” said Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project. “Putting sex offender men claiming to be women in cells with women is another reason the world laughs at America’s moral decline. Doctors at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the NYU Langone Transplant Institute in New York City reported successfully implanting genetically modified pig kidneys into two “brain dead” men this month.” Medical ethicists are less impressed. Joel Zivot, M.D., M.A., J.M. wrote in an opinion piece for MedPage Today: Broadly, the rightness or wrongness of this type of procedure [is] the consequence of a series of moral choices, thus far unreported and unexamined, and include the problems of brain death, human experimentation, consent, rationing, and animal rights. He points out that the concept of “brain death” has turned people into resources, commodities to be used for the valuable vital organs they possess. Most people do not receive any type of informed consent when they selflessly sign a donor card at the Department of Motor Vehicles and have no idea that they can be considered “dead” while they are still respiring and have a beating heart. Or that doctors currently are not following the legal definition of death by neurologic criteria under the Uniform Determination of Death Act (or UDDA, some form of which has been passed into law by all 50 states). While the UDDA requires “cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brainstem” for a diagnosis of “brain death,” doctors now generally follow the 2010 American Academy of Neurology Guidelines, which require only documentation of coma, a bedside test of brainstem reflexes, and an apnea test. No other special studies of “the entire brain” are required.
According to Dr. Zivot, . . . […] more and more people, such as Zack Dunlap, Jahi McMath, Taylor Hale, Trenton McKinley, and others, are proving doctors wrong about their “brain death” diagnosis. These “brain death” survivors prove that this diagnosis can be made in error, and that using these people for medical experimentation is ethically unjustified.

Wastell: The EU’s Orwellian Internet Censorship Regime
The Internet is about to become a whole lot less free.
This Friday, August 25th, the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA), which it passed last year, comes into force. Among many other things, the DSA obliges large online platforms to swiftly take down illegal content, hate speech, and so-called disinformation—aiming, in the words of European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, to “ensure that the online environment remains a safe space.” Very large online platforms (VLOPs) with more than 45 million monthly active users must abide by the rules from Friday; smaller platforms have until February to comply. Designated by the Commission back in April, the 19 VLOPs include all the big names—Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube and Amazon—as well as smaller fries like Wikipedia, LinkedIn, and Snapchat. The EU stands ready with an aggressive enforcement regime. VLOPs will fund a permanent European Commission taskforce on disinformation of some 230 staff, paying an annual ‘supervisory fee’ of up to 0.05% of their revenue. The taskforce will ensure that VLOPs abide by the EU’s hitherto voluntary disinformation Code of Practice. VLOPs must also publish an annual risk assessment, due on Friday, and act “diligently” to remove unapproved content. And if VLOPs fail to comply with these dictates, they can be fined up to 6% of their annual global revenue. Or they can be subjected to an investigation by the Commission and potentially even be prevented from operating in the EU altogether.
