In an October 7, 2021, online issue of the Wheatley School Alumni Association newsletter, two nude torso pictures are included under the headline “Before and After” according to an archived version of the newsletter. The first photo is labeled “October 2020” and shows a nude torso flexing. The second photo, labeled “August 2021” shows another nude torso flexing, but with a more muscular physique. The photos appear to be taken in a locker room. […] Fox News host Jesse Watters in a segment Tuesday evening on his show “Jesse Watters Primetime” called Engoron “Judge Nudie” — a play on “Judge Judy.” […] He added, “Judge Nudie has the right to express himself in any way he wants. We don’t judge. But he does. The nude bathroom selfie sharing former drawbar gets to decide whether Donald Trump’s real estate empire lives or dies. You can’t take this man seriously. Alexander Haberbush is founder and president of the California-based Lex Rex Institute, a “legal and public outreach organization that works to empower private individuals to hold government officials at every level accountable to their sworn oaths to uphold the Constitution of the United States,” according to the institute’s website. The translation of its Latin name is “The Law is King,” and Haberbush chose the name because, he believes, all public officials should be accountable to the law. Haberbush is working on cases for nationally-renowned Dr. John Eastman, one of Trump’s attorneys indicted in the Fulton County, Georgia, case. He calls these a witch hunt and describes them as political persecutions of political opponents. Haberbush points out the dangerous precedent set by cases like those against Eastman.

House Speaker Mike Johnson called on the Big Apple Thursday to scrap its “sanctuary” city status if it wants federal money to help house thousands of migrants pouring into the city. In an exclusive and wide-ranging interview with The Post, the Louisiana Republican’s first with a major publication since seizing the gavel, Johnson said he was “certain” his fellow GOP lawmakers will stipulate a rollback of policies that restrict local police cooperation with federal immigration officials to deport migrants accused of serious crimes. “I’m certain that will be one of our proposals, and it should,” the 51-year-old said. President Biden has asked Congress to approve $1.4 billion for states and cities to fund shelter and services for migrants released at the US-Mexico border. Mayor Eric Adams joined four other big-city mayors recently in asking for $5 billion. “The idea that you would maintain a sanctuary city status and then cry out to the federal government for assistance in what you’ve done is, to me, unconscionable,” Johnson said.

Joe Manchin (D) on Thursday made official what his colleagues had privately suspected for months, that he won’t be returning to Washington as a senator in 2025, putting Democrats on an uphill path to keeping their Senate majority in next year’s election. The news that Manchin will walk away from the Senate at the end of next year landed on Senate Democrats with a thud, killing the giddy buzz they were feeling after winning key state races in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia on Tuesday. […] Manchin’s announcement means, Democrats will have to win seven competitive races in Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin — all Republican-leaning or swing states — to keep control of the Senate.

Soon after the Hamas pogrom on October 7, the United States sent two aircraft carriers, additional land-based warplanes and eventually a guided-missile submarine to the region. This was said to be a “clear message of deterrence” to Hezbollah and its patron Iran, warning them not to escalate the ensuing war between Israel and Hamas by attacking Israel from southern Lebanon. With 150,000 precision-guided missiles embedded in Lebanon’s civilian population and able to target the whole of Israel, Hezbollah poses a vastly greater threat to Israel than Hamas. But Hezbollah is already at war with Israel. Since the Hamas atrocities, Hezbollah has regularly been firing volleys of missiles into northern Israel, causing the evacuation of Israeli communities closest to the border and sending thousands of Israelis into their shelters. Iran is also waging war against America itself. During the past month, Iranian proxies in the region have mounted drone and rocket attacks against US air bases in Iraq and Syria at least 40 times. Dozens of American personnel have been injured and one American contractor died of cardiac arrest. Yet the US response has been feeble. […] . . . there’s been an ominous change in the rhetoric. With Israel having trapped Hamas in the nerve centre of its terrorist operations in Gaza City and poised to deliver a decisive blow, Biden had called for a three-day “pause” in Israel’s ground operation. Any such ceasefire would stop the IDF’s momentum, throw a lifeline to Hamas and make the terror group more likely to survive. Israel has now agreed to daily “pauses” of four hours to allow for aid and evacuation.

As the Israel-Hamas war continues to rage on, the Iran-backed terrorist group in southern Yemen has continued to support the Islamic terrorist group in Gaza, hoping to stretch Jerusalem thin. Amid the conflict, many have asked about the Houthis’ origins and their connection with Tehran. The roots of the Houthi movement can be traced to the 1990s when Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi, a Zaidi Shia religious leader, began rallying followers in Yemen’s Saada province. In the beginning, the Houthi movement was a localized, religious endeavor. However, over time, it evolved into an armed insurgency, responding to the local and regional dynamics in the Middle East. The association with Tehran can be traced back to the mid-2000s when the Islamic Republic saw an opportunity to exploit the Houthi’s grievances and challenge their regional adversary, Saudi Arabia. Iran’s support for the Houthi rebels has included financial aid, weaponry, and military training. As a result, the Houthi movement had the military and financial equipment to stand against the Saudis and American forces. […] In 2021, the Biden administration formally delisted Yemen’s Houthi movement as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). As a result, the Houthis have been treated as an equal partner in the ongoing peace talks with the United Nations. Today, the Houthis continue to receive support from Tehran, supplying the group with financial and military support against Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

In New Jersey, ICE’s Enforcement Removal Operations (ICE-ERO)-Newark agents recently arrested a Mexican national in Bridgeton, New Jersey, who was convicted of endangering-sexual conduct with a child. A state judge gave the Mexican national a three-year suspended prison sentence and supervised parole for life. Prior to his conviction and illegal entry, he was previously removed from the U.S. in March 2005 and March 2009. He is currently in ICE-ERO custody, pending his third removal from the U.S. “This individual is a clear danger to our community with multiple illegal reentries into the U.S.,” ICE-ERO-Newark Field Office Director John Tsoukaris said. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office is demanding answers from The Associated Press, Reuters, CNN and The New York Times after their photographers reportedly documented Hamas’ invasion of Israel on Oct. 7, bringing serious ethical questions. “These journalists were accomplices in crimes against humanity; their actions were contrary to professional ethics,” the prime minister’s office said Thursday. […] CNN told Israeli outlet YNet that it has already cut ties with Eslaiah, who photographed himself standing in front of an Israeli tank on Oct. 7 without a press vest or helmet. Honest Reporting also published a photograph of Eslaiah being kissed by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Coughlin: Ceasefires Will Only Hinder Getting the Hostages Released

[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] argued that the more that 240 Israelis held hostage by Hamas should be released first. Letting up the military pressure on Hamas, rather than forcing Hamas to concede, will only delay the hostages’ release by enabling the terrorists to keep moving them around and re-hiding them.
The other important consideration the Biden administration has failed to grasp is that, by ensuring Israel achieves its goal of destroying Hamas, Washington would be sending a strong signal to hostile states such as Iran, Russia and China that any attack against the US and its allies would receive a similarly robust response.
At the very least the Biden administration should be urgently reviewing its Iran policy and, instead of obsessing about the prospects of reviving the “nuclear deal” with Tehran… concentrating its efforts on targeting top IRGC commanders, as well as imposing tough banking sanctions against Tehran to limit its ability to fund terrorist groups such as Hamas.

It is difficult to admit that I might have been as wrong about 10/7 as I was about 9/11. The pogrom that Hamas perpetrated in Israel this October was almost immediately compared to al-Qaida’s 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. And the comparison was well worth making. Each attack was a horrific breach of a nation’s borders and security, resulting in soul-quaking death and suffering. If anything, the Hamas attack was even more devastating, given the small size of Israel, the still-accumulating evidence of unimagined barbarity, and the fact that it was intended to be an existential act of violence, part of an attempt to destroy a state and its people. And after both 10/7 and 9/11, I reacted very similarly and, it turns out, very wrongly. I mused in The New York Times a few weeks after the al-Qaida attacks that they might lead to a serious reassessment of orthodoxies cherished by many intellectuals as well as guardians of the disciplines known as post-colonialism and postmodernism. […] But doctrines were not shaken. They were not even stirred.

In its own telling, Yale Law School’s Schell Center for International Human Rights seeks to “equip lawyers and other professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to advance the cause of international human rights.” It has educated students and human rights professionals on atrocities large and small, issuing a detailed report last year on ethnic cleansing in Myanmar and proposing a framework in mid-September to moderate “indirect hate speech online“—whatever that means. But six days after Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre and kidnapping of over 1,600 Israelis, the center was silent. On Oct. 13, an Israeli law student with family called up for military duty in Israel implored the center to speak out.

What’s become clear, over the past month, is that the loud, social-media-savvy, and very active “pro-Palestinian” efforts across the United States and the world are the opposite of spontaneous events. They are, rather, individual moments that make up a sophisticated but extraordinarily loose and even somewhat anarchic plan carried out by network of activists, political types, small-dollar fundraisers, computer warriors, hysterics, hotheaded teenagers obsessed with TikTok and Snapchat, and not-especially employed people (students and others who are no longer students but act like students). They were activated almost immediately, and brilliantly. They have done an astonishing job amplifying an argument rejected by most rational people—that somehow Israel should be judged the aggressor in a conflict that began when 5,000 Israelis were killed and injured in just eight hours. When I say “activated,” I don’t mean that someone pushed a button and they all rose like automata to fulfill their mechanistic roles. I mean that what has happened is the culmination of 20 years of online organizing, listserving, meet-upping, and social-network-building on the left.

Jerry Cirino, S.B. 83’s primary sponsor, said he and his fellow Republicans have been “working the bill with our heart and soul,” and it’s expected to pass through the final committees in the next few weeks on its way to a full House vote in early December. It was approved by the Senate over the summer. […] The bill would also require faculty and staff to “encourage students to reach their own conclusions about all controversial beliefs or policies and shall not seek to indoctrinate any social, political, or religious point of view.”

But a critical look at the Nashville Police Department reveals that suppressing the anti-white manifesto would have fit right into the mission at a local level. […] When he got the job in late 2020, he told local media that his top priority was increasing diversity. He soon created a “chief diversity officer” and kicked white males out of leadership roles. […] Drake imposed drastic changes on the department to reach his diversity goals. This included lowering standards and other policies that would decrease police effectiveness. […] It’s no surprise that Chief Drake didn’t want the public to see the manifesto. It tarnishes his worldview, showing that the diversity obsession can lead to mass murder.

Fenway Community Health Center in Boston, the largest provider of transgender medicine in New England and one of the leading institutions of its kind in the United States, was named a defendant in a lawsuit filed last month. The plaintiff, a gay man who goes by the alias Shape Shifter, argues that by approving him for hormones and surgeries, Fenway Health subjected him to “gay conversion” practices, in violation of his civil rights. Carlan v. Fenway Community Health Center is the first lawsuit in the United States to argue that “gender-affirming care” can be a form of anti-gay discrimination. The case underscores an important clinical reality: gender dysphoria has multiple developmental pathways, and many who experience it will turn out to be gay. Even the Endocrine Society concedes that many of the youth who outgrow their dysphoria by adolescence later identify as gay or bisexual. Decades of research confirm as much. […] Rather than state a straightforward claim of medical malpractice or fraud, they allege that Fenway Health has violated Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which bans discrimination “on the basis of sex” in health care. In 2020, the Supreme Court ruled in Bostock v. Clayton County that “discrimination because of . . . sex” includes discrimination based on homosexuality. Citing this and other precedents, Shape’s lawyers argue that federal law affords distinct protections to gay men and lesbians—upon which clinics that operate with a transgender bias are trampling.
