For the first time, the world has a system in place for climate reparations. The fund has been a goal of developing nations for years; its aim is to get financial support for the countries that suffer the brunt of climate-change disasters despite having had little part in causing them. Nearly every country on Earth has now adopted the fund, though the text is not technically final until the end of the conference, officially slated for December 12. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., includes significant changes to Hutchinson’s account of key events in the Capitol riot drama, including what Secret Service vehicle transported Donald Trump to the Jan. 6, 2021 rally, whether guns were at the Washington D.C. rally that preceded the riot, and what she knew about a meeting where “Hang Mike Pence” chants were allegedly made. The errata sheet contained a digital signature from Hutchinson approving the changes. Legal experts said errata sheets for congressional witnesses are common but usually are limited to technical or typographical errors. The experts who reviewed Hutchinson’s errata sheet dated Sept. 12, 2022 said it appears to make material changes to her stories.

Despite attempts from the Department of Justice (DOJ), a federal court recently ruled that U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine’s records are subject to discovery in Alabama’s court battle defending a state ban on transgender surgeries and hormones for minors. In April 2022, Gov. Kay Ivey signed the Vulnerable Child Protection Act (VCAP) into law, which prohibits doctors in Alabama from performing transgender operations or prescribing cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers to individuals under 19. VCAP went into effect on May 8, 2022, but was blocked by U.S. District Judge Liles Burke a few days later. The injunction by Burke came after multiple parties added themselves as plaintiffs in the case, including five transgender minors by way of their parents, the United States of America and Kaitlin Toyama, an attorney-advisor with the civil rights division of the DOJ.

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the injunction in August, but the state is still preparing to defend the law in federal court in 2024.

From its headquarters burrowed below hospitals, mosques, and schools, Hamas bartered hostages for a reprieve from the IDF and the release of its own convicted terrorists in Israeli jails. Hamas shot any of its own supporters who refused to shield Hamas gunmen. It continued launching rockets at Israeli civilian centers. It serially lied about its casualties, expropriating intended relief food and fuel for its underground tunnel city of killers. Abroad, Hamas supporters also emulated the methods of the pro-Nazi demonstrators in Western cities of the 1930s. Unlike their pro-Israel critics, the pro-Hamas demonstrators in the U.S. and Europe turned violent.

In 2017, for example, she co-wrote a commentary for the Philadelphia Inquirer, in which she argued that some cultures are better than others, and called for a return to a “bourgeois culture” that expects citizens at least to graduate from high school, get a job, stay out of jail, and get married before having children. Penn Law itself compiled a list of furious responses, and felt compelled to issue a statement saying that her views were “not a statement of Penn Law’s values.” The law school barred her from teaching a mandatory first-year course. Prof. Wax continued speak her mind, and last summer, the school resorted to the most drastic action it could take: a formal investigation to determine whether her “intentional and incessant racist, sexist, xenophobic, and homophobic actions and statements” were serious enough to require a “major sanction” that could include stripping her of tenure and firing her.

(Perlmutter sold Marvel to Disney and was paid off with a lot of stock.) Peltz demanded a couple of seats on the board of directors. Disney, of course, refused, as the board of directors is carefully stocked with Bob Iger’s yes-men, automatic-stamp cronies. Now Peltz is going to Disney’s shareholders to ask them to vote with him as well and force non-cronies on to the board who will actually safeguard investor value instead of just Bob Iger’s woke propaganda mission. Peltz’s Trian Fund Management investment firm, which owns about $3 billion in Disney stock, issued a statement Thursday that after the Mouse House’s board rejected Trian’s request for board seats, the hedge fund will “take our case for change directly to shareholders.” Trian is seeking two seats on Disney’s board, CNBC reported. The firm oversees more than $2 billion worth of Disney shares held by former Marvel Entertainment chairman Ike Perlmutter, who has been vocal critic of Disney CEO Bob Iger and was dismissed from the company in March. […] Disney continues lying to the public, insisting that there is no reason that any investor would be concerned about Disney stock losing half its value, and this is all a political/personal “vendetta” orchestrated by Ike Perlmultter.

The decision was made by a leader of the Havering Council in East London in light of the increased hate crimes and anti-Israel protests the world has seen amid the war between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas. […] “By not allowing the Jewish community to celebrate and practice their faith properly, we are capitulating to terrorism,” he told the Independent. “The Jewish community are amongst the most patriotic people in Britain and so, it is our obligation to stand with them during their time of need. We cannot allow antisemitism to win in Britain.”

Whether or not Scholz is foolish enough to go full Merkel is still anybody’s guess. The German government should certainly be under no illusions about what a “larger influx” of refugees from Gaza would mean. For starters, these are not the skilled immigrants Germany needs, in Scholz’s vision, to replace its own dwindling population and keep the nation’s pension scheme afloat. The fate of the majority of Syrian migrants to Germany is instructive in this regard. Figures released in 2021 showed that two-thirds of Syrian refugees who came to Germany after 2015 were unable to support themselves financially and were either partially or totally reliant on state welfare. This was a slight improvement on the previous year’s figure of 70 percent, but still a dire testament to the failure of integration. Most of those who were working were in low-paid jobs.
