The Illegals Are Truly a Benefit

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Of course, they are not really “illegals” as they should properly be referred to as “undocumented immigrants,” “unauthorized immigrants,” “non-citizens,” “without status,” and/or “unlawfully present.” As the Left stumbles over the correct characterization of people who have entered this country with no compliance to our national laws and remain here despite their continuing non-compliance, the […]

The Ultimate Destruction of Private Property

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Many changes have occurred in American society over the past few decades, largely due to a surge of Socialism supporters. Most of them call themselves “Progressives.” The honest ones announce they are members of the Democrat Socialists of America. One of the primary tenets of Socialism is aimed to substitute private property for social ownership […]

Everybody is Innocent

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

You may have heard the Governor of California (you know the one who wants to be President of the United States) got into a little quarrel with a cashier at a Target store. Newsom spotted someone leaving the store without paying for an item. By his own account he asked the clerk why no one […]

Too Many Lawyers Leading to Too Much Mischief

Estimated Reading Time: 5 minutes

The world has been directing negative comments against lawyers for at least five hundred years. Law schools push out too many people with degrees that go on to lay waste to our economy. Ambulance chasers have given way to the mass marketers arranging financial mayhem. Our government hires throngs of attorneys to attack our businesses […]

Biden’s Foreign Policy

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

While conceiving this column I came upon an observation about the difference between the Biden and Trump presidencies. Trump’s administration was chaos, but our lives were normal. Biden’s administration is normal, but everything else is in chaos. When speaking about President Biden, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates stated, “I think he has been wrong on […]

How The Left Thinks

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

This column addresses the issue of Claudine Gay, the now-former president of Harvard, but is not really about her. This is about how we who are not on the Left are addressed by those on the Left. And why they are constantly attacking, and their lack of tolerance as opposed to discussing. Many of you […]

The New Fear Weather

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Life-threatening’ storm to slam Southern California beginning Sunday, last for days Monster storm bears down on California: The danger zones, the forecast, the warnings Sunday’s ‘Pineapple Express’ expected to wallop Southern California Forecasters say a second storm fueled by an atmospheric river will hit California next week, roughly doubling the amount of rain falling Thursday […]

How We Got A Lot Richer

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Editors’ Note: We agree with much of the foregoing analysis. We would add that transfer payments for COVID relief, or any other purpose,  financed with debt, is simply wealth borrowed from future generations for the benefit of the present generation. We made ourselves richer and our grandkids poorer. Is that a moral way to get […]

Joe Biden is a Terrible Father and a Lousy Liar

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

As we lurch into the 2024 election year, it is imperative we confront the naked truth about the potential contestants for the grand prize of President of the greatest country ever. Though it is often stated that family is off limits in political discussion, I believe that ship has sailed for President Biden – he […]

No Interest in Democracy

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

The Left is constantly warning us about the dangers of losing our democracy. They were convinced The Orange Man (Donald Trump) was going to steal our democracy for four years and if elected again will finally complete his goal of becoming a strongman autocrat. One major publication changed its tagline to say that “Democracy Dies in Darkness” while keeping people in the dark. As usual, this is just a head fake as they have little interest in the process of democracy in our country.

Hamas Should Surrender

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Even prior to when Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) began fighting Hamas after their October 7th deadly slaughter of Israeli citizens, some who declined to help Israel focus on just one aspect of the hostilities.  France’s President Emmanuel Macron, who falsely believes his shrinking country still has 21st-century relevance, along with arguably the world’s most anti-Semitic organization […]

Two Things That Worry Me to Start 2024

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

There are more like how well my baseball team will do this coming season, but we need to focus on a couple of big issues that affect us all and our entire country. The first issue is our insane national budget deficit. One would think that since the effects of the pandemic receded more than a […]

A Happy Column

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

A friend and regular reader of my column came to me at our Hanukkah party and suggested that I should write more about positive things. Unbeknownst to him, I had already planned my next two columns regarding the Christmas season with a decidedly positive bent. In response to his request, this column attempts just that. […]

Family Estrangement

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Editors Note:  The holidays have come and gone and now we face the New Year. Although these sentiments frequently surface during periods of holiday family interaction, the problem can last well after the holidays, even spanning years. Healing such alienation within families seems like a worthy goal to us for starting the new year. Families […]

Please No More Happy Holidays

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

I was at one of my local casual restaurants for lunch on a Saturday. I asked my waiter, who I know, for my check and said to him jokingly that if the restaurant wants to, they could cover me for the day. He said that would be tomorrow, Sunday. I suggested that was his Sabbath […]

Are you surprised by the level of anti-Semitism that occurred after October 7th?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Because of my background as a weekly journalist, a committed Jew, and a former member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, I have been asked many times recently “Are you surprised by the level of anti-Semitism that occurred after October 7th”? My answer is NO. My question is why anyone is surprised by the large […]

White Liberals

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

I have recently concluded that white liberals are the most dangerous people in our society. I decided to expand on the concept and explain why these sanctimonious people are so harmful. Across America, people are regularly elected who make clear they want to radically change the landscape of American politics, particularly the justice system. Some […]

Our Dysfunctional Press

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

There was a blatant episode recently that exemplifies how deteriorated our press has become. The immediate disclosure to the world that the Hamas propaganda machine blamed Israelis for a hospital bombing in Gaza – in reality, the hospital parking lot — and the killing of 500 people – which was actually 50. These irresponsible reports […]

Too Many Laws

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

There are many joys of being a Californian. The price of housing, the price of gas, and the price of electricity are just a few. One that is not discussed is how our elected leaders are constantly changing the laws under which we are governed.  This is one of the worst aspects of our “independent […]

Yes, Cease Fire. Just Wrong War

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

It did not take long for Israel’s enemies to call for a cease-fire in their current fight against Hamas and the terrorists in Gaza. To state it accurately, there were parties calling for a cease-fire prior to Israel taking any military action. A cease-fire does need to occur, but the parties are focused on the […]

Campus Anti-Semitism Can’t be Stopped Without Dismantling the DEI Complex

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

The October 7th murderous terrorist attacks in Israel led to protests erupting on many college campuses. These protests were both verbal and somewhat physical on Israel and the Jewish people while Israel had yet to engage militarily. These protests were justifiably branded by many as anti-Semitic. There have been many calls for changes at numerous […]

Whose Children Are They?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

When I was growing up there was no question who was in charge of me. It was my parents. I was blessed with going to one of the finest public school systems at the time — Shaker Heights, Ohio. It was clear the schools were responsible for educating me to read, write, learn mathematics and science, and teach me about history, particularly American history. The responsibility ended there. Have things ever changed?

I saw a transition when my own children attended school. The Beautiful Wife and I chose to send them to a Jewish school system. We knew of the degradation of the public school systems (in the ‘90s) and wanted our children to have our Jewish values reinforced during the long school days they experienced. When they were in elementary school the only indoctrination they were subject to was spelling correctly and multiplication tables.

Has Hamas’ Attack Finally Aroused Parents About Universities?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Many of us have tried somewhat in vain to alert parents about the fecklessness of supporting certain colleges and/or sending their children to them. Currently, there are 3,982 colleges and universities in the United States. Some are not only dangerous for the mind of your child or grandchild, but their body as well. The reaction […]

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Frequently it appears the hallmark statement of our legal system has been turned on its head. It is not just that charges are made against people from which the public draws a conclusion. The person’s career is cut short before the accused has a chance to offer a proper defense, and their income is terminated. […]

A Conspiracy Theory

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

When you hear someone deep diving into a conspiracy theory, do you roll your eyes and then politely thank the person for sharing their paranoid thoughts with you? I do. The theory usually involves some form of complicated conjecture which is one speculation after another. Anyone who reads my columns or talks to me knows […]

It Is Time for Hysteria

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

There is a battle brewing in Washington over our annual national budget which is supposed to be in place for the new fiscal year, beginning October 1st. The entire discussion is about whether the House Republicans will have the budget’s twelve elements ready by the deadline. The alternative is to once again invoke those favorite […]

Is America A Bad Place To Work?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Recently I encountered a study by an organization called Oxfam Research. That study: Where Hard Work Doesn’t Pay Off. As defined in Wikipedia, Oxfam was founded in 1942 as a confederation of 21 independent charitable organizations, centered in Oxford England focusing on alleviating global poverty and led by Oxfam International. There is an American affiliate. I […]

Google is Where Democracy is Dying?

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Has it been more than five minutes since you heard someone on the left spouting about how our democracy is in danger? The Washington Post adopted the slogan “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” while simultaneously keeping their readers in the dark about a multitude of critical issues. Despite all the hysteria, the Left ignores the single […]

Debilitating Hatred

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

There are certain emotions that will either eat you alive or cause a boomerang effect on you from the actions you take. There has been a hatred manifested throughout this country that is eating at our core and will cause repercussions that may severely affect all of us for a long, long time. A local […]

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

While packing for our recent trip to London, I went to our unread bookshelf – the place where we track acquired but not yet read books. I spotted The Intimidation Game written by Kimberly Strassel. Since we will be seeing Ms. Strassel in September as she releases a new book, I thought it a suitable […]

I Believe President Biden

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

I have been taken aback by the chorus of my fellow Republicans who have questioned the word of President Joe Biden regarding his involvement in his son’s business dealings. Mr. Biden was obviously busy with other matters, as you can only expect from a man of his stature. So why would we question his involvement? […]

Walter Williams Said It First

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Walter Williams sadly left us in December 2020.  Like his very close friend, Thomas Sowell, he was an economist who would have had a Nobel Prize were it not for the prejudice against black conservatives.  Both were/are brilliant teachers who educated us through their writing.  Walter Williams authored twelve books, all worthy of your time.  […]

The Scam of Book Sales

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

The Left has gone after members of the U.S. Supreme Court on drummed-up ethics charges. Whether the Justices have violated any ethics rules (which they have all denied in specificity as to their filings and their actions) is in the eye of the beholder. What we want to explore is how people in public office […]

Los Angeles Dodger Foundation Lets DEI Rule the Day

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

We have been searching for a place to focus our charitable efforts. For more than 30 years, most of our giving went to our synagogue. Sadly, we were compelled to leave after two left-wing Rabbis were more interested in being community organizers than teaching the Torah. We have been giving to Prager U, StandWithUs, The […]

Simple Solution in Government Intrusion Case

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Ronald Reagan once said, “they say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong.” We have exactly that — a simple solution to the government’s intrusion into communication with social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Google, Instagram etc. As I am sure you are aware there was an earthquake on July […]

Is Mexico Our Friend?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

The United States has enjoyed unique stature among the nations of the world. For over a century, we have been separated from the rest of the world by two oceans with two major friendly countries on our northern and southern borders. We have enjoyed particularly cooperative relations with both during this time. Times are changing […]

Reparations

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Anyone who has previously read my columns will quickly conclude that I believe reparations (as being currently discussed) are a tragically stupid idea. You have probably read a multitude of opinions telling you why that is so. You are about to get a significantly different take on the issue. The first aspect comes from my […]

To Work or Not to Work, That is The Question

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

A large portion of the national debt limit bill negotiations involved reestablishing work requirements to receive payments from the various government handout programs. President Biden objected to what was in the House bill and a compromise was struck. Why are we discussing this now? There is definitely a difference of opinion even though a bipartisan […]

Dodgers: What Are You Thinking?

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

An organization that has stood for everything right in sports has brought controversy upon itself. It is not the first time it has occurred. This is the team that broke the color barrier in professional sports and that was not a good thing – it was a great thing. This is a team that left […]

Receiving Found Money

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

During my morning routine prior to work, I was taking a break when the phone rang. At the other end was a gentleman telling me he had found money for me. From there my day changed. I sat up and listened. Who wouldn’t? I am getting free legal money not handed out by a loathsome […]

Rampell Strikes Again

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

As a rule, columnists generally do not like to riff on other people’s products but rather create one’s own. Sometimes one is just forced to do so because of the message put out by others that have a significant position in the journalistic world. Those people do a disservice by providing misleading information on a […]

Real Life Effects of Equity

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

The current attempt to turn our society on its head by establishing equity as the standard for advancement instead of excellence has become quite apparent. The failures are right in front of us. Two shining examples that glare at us daily are visible members of our federal government. The first is our transportation secretary. We […]

Tennessee

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

Whenever one blinks these days, there is a new story about which people get hysterical.  Tennessee has always been best known for Nashville country music and Memphis barbeque.  But it has become focused currently on two cultural events that are related, but in their own way completely separate. You certainly are familiar with the fact […]

Stealing Your Wealth

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

We pretty much all agree that the government needs some funding to operate essential functions. We have agreed on fees for services, property taxes, and income taxes. We may not agree on the amount of tax, but we generally accept that taxes can be levied. That does not seem good enough for those interested in […]

Beware of Governments Bearing Gifts

Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes

The title is a “turn of phrase” from when the Greeks provided the Trojans with the gift of a giant wooden horse. Similarly, whenever a government — in this case Biden’s government – appears to give private industry money for a directed purpose, there is a laundry list of caveats. In this case, we are […]

Transgenders

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

This topic somehow has become one of the most important subjects in America. It is characterized by some as “the civil rights fight of our time.” A recent column by one of the “sterling” columnists at the New York Times finally made me address this issue. Jamelle Bouie belongs to the chorus of writers at […]
