NOTABLE QUOTES

Victor Davis Hanson contributor to American Greatness: . . .as Americans sober up, will they institutionalize or reject the frenzy remaining from the destructive stampede that took the country over the cliff during the most unhinged year in American history?

John Green contributor to American Thinker: In our modern-day version of The Matrix, the left has been attempting to “blue pill” us with their incessant propaganda. However, some are experimenting with the red pill. They’re opening their eyes and seeing the truth for the first time. It’s the blue pill for the leftist Kool-Aid and the red pill for truth and reality — rather appropriate color choice — no?

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Al) members of the Armed Service Committee push back against the Democrat plan to use the National Guard for protection: Use of the uniformed military in D.C. and the Capitol Complex is subject to complex statutory restrictions, and for good reason. We cannot and should not militarize the security of the Capitol Complex.

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Pollak: DOJ Releases Part of Memo on Decision Not to Charge Trump with Obstruction
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has released part of an internal memorandum recommending against prosecuting then-President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice as a result of findings by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in 2019. As Breitbart News reported earlier this month, Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia issued a scathing rebuke to former Attorney General William Barr over his handling of the case. […] Barr stated at the time that some of Trump’s actions, while controversial, stemmed from “non-corrupt” motives, owing to the unique circumstances in which he found himself under political and legal siege the moment he took office in 2017.

Bolton: Senate GOP doubts grand jury charges would weaken Trump
Senate Republicans see a special grand jury investigation into President Trump’s business practices by Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. as more evidence that Democrats want to keep Trump in the spotlight to drag them down in the midterm election. […] But they say it’s too early to assess whether a criminal indictment against Trump — or even a conviction — will inflict any serious damage on Trump’s popularity among Republican-leaning white working-class voters who are the core of his base.

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

Wong: Chinese Military Ignoring Biden Pentagon’s Requests for Talks
The Chinese military has been ignoring requests from the Biden Pentagon for its top leaders to speak for the first time since it took office in what appears to be a diplomatic stand-off, according to reports. A Financial Times report on Friday revealed Beijing has “rebuffed” three requests from the Pentagon for talks between China’s top military officer, General Xu Qiliang, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Xu is the vice-chair of the Central Military commission and a politburo member.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Americans For Limited Government: Biden attempts to deflect from his administration’s shut down of Trump-era investigation into Covid origins
In response to a CNN investigation that found the Biden administration terminated a Trump-era probe into the possibility of Wuhan lab leak as the origin of the deadly Covid-19 virus, President Biden today released a statement attempting to deflect from his administration’s attempted cover-up. Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in reaction to the breaking news: “Today’s statement by Joe Biden is a tacit admission that his administration canceled and then covered up a legitimate State Department investigation into the origins of the Wuhan virus.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING THE U.S. MILITARY

DiLorenzo: Democrats Cancel Duty, Honor, Country
The Democrat’s cancel culture has reached our revered institution, the military. After the 2016 election, the Democrats made a covenant with Hell to never lose another election. They ‘won’ the 2020 election by fraud and deceit, and when they assumed power, they began to transform Washington, our institutions, especially our military culture into their image, void of loyalty, morals, virtue, and honor. They are working as quickly as possible before the general public wakes up. […] Our military is quickly becoming a political tool of Marxist socialists, and not even competent Marxists. The Democrats now think of the military as their personal security force. A trip to our capitol will convince you. They openly seem determined to destroy the discipline, purpose, and cohesion of our armed forces. The top priority of the new Biden administration was to appoint a black defense secretary. Comes Lloyd Austin, a sub-standard four-star general that reeked of failure to counter ISIS when he was in charge of U.S. Central Command with responsibility for Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Peek: The Biden White House has made four big economic mistakes in just four months
Paul Krugman declared in a recent New York Times column that Republicans are threatening “America’s democratic experiment.” He followed up that declaration with a series of nonsensical scenarios not worth repeating. What is worth repeating is Krugman’s assertion that the “Biden team” includes nearly every “genuine expert on tax policy, labor markets, etc.,” a welcome contrast apparently to the Trump administration, which relied on the advice of “politically reliable cranks.” You know, the kind of cranks who helped President Trump deliver record-low unemployment for Black and Hispanic Americans and the fastest-growing wages in decades, with near-zero inflation. […] In just four months, the Biden economic wizards have made several major economic mistakes, some of which were contained in the American Rescue Plan (ARP). First, . . .

A CULTURE IN DECLINE

Arbery: But Is It Safe?
Not long ago, I heard a psychologist saying that the most important thing in his practice is the safety of his clients. Understandably, patients in such a setting must know that they are safe. As we all know, there must be a fundamental security in family situations for children to thrive, just as growing plants must be protected in order to grow. Homes characterized by brokenness and emotional violence have terrible effects—though even here, I would argue, not inevitably, not by some law of necessity. Some people overcome the worst kinds of abusive family situations and become strong out of some powerful resolve of character or strength of grace that will not succumb to psychological destitution. What is worrisome in contemporary culture is that the need for emotional safety in therapy seems to be extended to the culture at large. No matter what proclivity or tendency of character one might have, it is now assumed that the society is responsible for making its expression safe. No one must be endangered; no one should feel threatened in any way about anything—well, unless you stand for traditional understandings of the human good. For Aristotle, moral life begins with the virtue . .

Brown: Masks Didn’t Slow COVID Spread: New Study
New findings reported Tuesday in a University of Louisville study challenge what has been the prevailing belief that mask mandates are necessary to slow the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus. The study notes that “80% of US states mandated masks during the COVID-19 pandemic” and while “mandates induced greater mask compliance, [they] did not predict lower growth rates when community spread was low (minima) or high (maxima).” Among other things, the study—conducted using data from the CDC covering multiple seasons—reports that “mask mandates and use are not associated with lower SARS-CoV-2 spread among US states.” “Our findings do not support the hypothesis that SARS-CoV-2 transmission rates decrease with greater public mask use,” . . .
