Julie Kelly contributor to American Greatness interviewed Ashli Babbit’s mother who said: “She didn’t have to be killed, there were other options,” Witthoeft said of her 110-pound, 5-foot-2 daughter. (Babbitt was unarmed.) “Then they dragged her out like an animal, cleaned up the mess, and went about their business.”

Jonathan Emord one of our country’s leading constitutional and administrative law attorneys: “ No one should think Biden’s lack of spatial and temporal awareness evidence of his harmlessness. He invites destruction of our nation from within and without, stoking Marxist rioting and revolution at home and communist adventurism abroad. He sends the unmistakable and redundant message that those who are destroying the cities, destroying education, destroying the military, and threatening our vital interests will not face resistance but, rather, appeasement or encouragement. He neither condemns the Marxist rebellion nor quells it—worse, he supports it by advancing a socialist policy agenda.”

Pavlos Papadopoulos contributor to The Imaginative Conservative: Free citizens are necessarily invited to follow the Delphic injunction, “know thyself,” that is addressed to all mankind; and their success or failure in responding to this invitation is crucial for the preservation or loss of their liberty.

Issues & Insights Editorial Board: Henry Louis Mencken, who understood politicians better than most, wrote in his 1956 Minority Report that “the urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.” A hardly restrained lust for power, “not the chance to serve,” is what we’re seeing among so many elected officials and public health administrators.

Andrea Windburg contributor to Life Site News: Perhaps it’s because I grew up surrounded by extraordinarily tough people, but I found myself singularly unmoved by the spectacle in the House on Tuesday, which reminded me of a bad mash-up of Dr. Phil, Oprah, and BLM-produced soap opera, rather than a legitimate inquiry into an event that Democrats have seized upon to consolidate their power by destroying their opposition. As sobbing congressmen and Capitol Police officers took turns talking about their psychic injuries, I was alternately embarrassed for them if they were really that weak, and frightened of them if they were that sociopathic as a pathway to power.

Mill: FBI Relies on Monster to Prosecute Michigan Kidnapping Plot
She must have wondered whether she would ever see the sun again as FBI Special Agent Richard Trask pinned her to their marital bed so he could repeatedly bash her head against the nightstand. According to the Detroit News, Trask’s wife tried to appease him. Earlier that night, she had reluctantly joined him at a swingers’ party. But the evening did not go well as she did not enjoy offering herself to strangers at her husband’s urging. FBI Special Agent Trask stopped smashing her head when she managed to get a handful of his beard. Trask then wrapped his weightlifter’s hands around her neck. With perhaps seconds to make a final bid for her survival, Mrs. Trask (her first name hasn’t been made public) managed to get a grip on . . . The wounds Trask left on his wife’s head were still bleeding when police arrived. She had blood all over her chest, clothing, arms, and hand. His savagery left “severe” bruising to her neck and throat.
Yet Trask is the man the FBI made the public face of the Michigan kidnapping plot that played a role in the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Last fall, Trask helped gin up the anti-Trump publicity surrounding the Michigan kidnapping plot.

(H/T KK) Hoft: Maricopa County Board of Supervisors’ Chairman, Jack Sellers, Has Close Ties with China – Is This Why He’s Fighting So Hard Against the Senate’s 2020 Election Audit in Maricopa County?
Jack Sellers is the Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. He has refused or delayed compliance with judge-ordered subpoenas related to the Senate’s audit. He’s supposedly a Republican…so what gives? A look into Sellers’ other roles and those organizations may shed some light. We know he participated in trade missions to China. Trump was tough on China and curbed much of the illegal immigration. Is it possible Jack Seller’s loyalties lie elsewhere? The picture below is Sellers is in Dujiangyan, China meeting with the CCP. He’s pictured with Yan Daixions, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Municipal Committee. Global security experts list this group as a well-known CCP front. The image was taken at 10:22 AM on March 14th, 2019 just west of Chengdu (coordinates 30.99189, 103.65596).

Kelly: Ashli Babbitt’s Mom Speaks
Her family’s grief has been compounded by the media’s grotesque portrayal of their loved one as a “QAnon conspiracy theorist” or worse, a traitor who got what she deserved. The only video Ashli Babbitt’s mom has seen of her daughter on January 6 is a clip of her walking from Donald Trump’s speech to Capitol Hill. “That brings me peace,” Micki Witthoeft, Ashli’s mom, told me by phone on Wednesday. “She was in her zone, so happy, having a great day.” “Until that son-of-a-bitch shot her.” Nearly seven months after a United States Capitol Police officer shot Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol building on January 6, the government and subservient corporate news media still refuse to confirm the name of the federal officer who killed her. (Investigative journalist Paul Sperry recently reported the shooter likely is USCP Lt. Michael Byrd.) The Justice Department closed its investigation into her shooting in April and announced the unnamed officer would not face criminal charges. […] A few weeks after Ashli was killed, Witthoeft said she finally took her head off her pillow and started making calls. A staffer for Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D-Calif.) office at first hung up on her, . . . […] This week, Senator Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) told a caller on a Fargo radio station that Babbitt was a “criminal” and the public is not entitled to know the identity of the federal officer who killed her. “[W]hat would be the purpose of releasing that officer’s name?” Cramer fumed at the caller’s demand to release his name. “What do you need to know the officer’s name for?”The first-term Republican senator said he is “grateful” for the officer who shot Babbitt.

Price: Republicans Reps Denied Entry To DC Jail Holding Jan. 6 Defendants
Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Louie Gohmert and Paul Gosar were all denied entry Thursday to the DC prison holding defendants arrested in connection with the Capitol riot Jan. 6. The four members of Congress attempted to visit the defendants being held inside amid allegations of mistreatment and poor conditions inside the facilities. After asking to speak with the supervisor of the prison, the members were accused of “trespassing” and ultimately locked out of the building, according to Taylor-Greene. […] Taylor-Greene later called it an “abomination” in a press conference the representatives held after being denied entry, adding, “We went to this prison today as members of Congress to give oversight to a federal prison because we suspect there is a two-tiered justice system in the United States.” […] Lawyers for Jan. 6 defendants have claimed that their clients have been beaten by jail guards, held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day and are being held for months at a time without court dates.

Goodenough: GOP Senators to Biden: Don’t Let Iran’s Mass Killer President onto US Soil
For decades, the U.S. government has allowed a parade of despots to descend on New York each fall for the annual opening of the U.N. General Assembly session, but a group of Republican senators is urging President Biden to draw the line in the case of Iran’s newly-elected president. A week before Ebrahim Raisi is due to take office, the group led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) wrote to Biden, drawing attention to the Iranian president-elect’s record of gross human rights abuses – most notoriously, his central role in the clandestine extrajudicial executions of thousands of dissidents in the late 1980s. […] “Allowing Raisi to travel to the United States – to the same city where the Iranian regime just tried to kidnap a U.S. citizen – would legitimize his repression, undermine America’s moral leadership, and potentially endanger our national security, given the likely presence of intelligence agents in the Iranian traveling party.”

Housman: Hospital Allegedly Demotes Biracial Doctor Who Opposed Racially Segregated Patient Care
A biracial doctor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, says she was demoted from her position as the chair of the OB-GYN department at the Hennepin Healthcare System (HHS) because she opposed racially segregated care. Dr. Tara Gustilo filed a discrimination charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against her employer with the help of the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR). Gustilo alleges she was demoted for opposing a number of “anti-racism” measures implemented in her workplace, including a practice of only having black doctors care for black patients.

Basham: ‘Why Do You Want Their Approval?’ Creator Of ‘The Chosen’ Shares How To Make Hits Without Hollywood
When 46-year-old Christian filmmaker Dallas Jenkins embarked on his viral sensation, “The Chosen,” he had no idea that he would end up creating the largest crowd-funded project in the history of the entertainment industry. Most of his previous movies had found mainstream studio distribution, but Hollywood wasn’t interested in a multi-season series about the life of Jesus. So Jenkins and his team set out to realize their vision via other means, including creating their own app. They succeeded in spades. “The Chosen’s” view counter currently sits at approximately 238 million. […] The Daily Wire spoke with Jenkins this week about “The Chosen” and how Christian, conservative artists can circumvent Tinsel Town gatekeepers. This is an edited and tightened version of our interview. […] DW: One of the things you often hear people say about “The Chosen” is that the story feels real, Jesus feels real, in a way you don’t typically find in faith-themed films and shows. Why have you been able to create a sense of authenticity where other religious productions haven’t? JENKINS: . . .

Sundance: Report, CDC Expected To Announce Tomorrow That COVID Vaccines Don’t Work on Delta Variant – Hence, White House Credits Trump With Vaccine Today
The White House would never credit Donald Trump with the vaccine rollout unless there was something negative about the vaccine that is going to hit the newswires; that is a no-brainer. That baseline is why CTH said two months ago to watch for the moment when the White House credits Trump with the vaccine because that’s the moment when: (1) the vaccine was going to be identified as dangerous; and/or (2) reports would show the vaccine did not work. Today the White House credited President Trump with the vaccine: . . . {…] ….And right on cue the late-evening reporting indicates that tomorrow the CDC will announce the vaccine doesn’t work (against the Delta variant). Hence, the need for masks, social distancing and/or possibly lockdowns 2.0. Reminder, when the Intelligence Branch needs to get the public relations engaged they use the New York Times.

Reynolds: If You Let COVID-19 Fearmongers Bridle You Again, You Learned Nothing From The Last Year
Here we go again. The Biden administration on Thursday suggested they’re considering demanding new lockdowns, business shutdowns, and school closures. Using the COVID-19 Delta variant as justification, the Biden administration’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reversed itself on Tuesday and told Americans that vaccination won’t save them from having to wear a mask again. […] You didn’t think your ruling betters were finally beginning to recognize their hypocritical mandates and ineffective lockdowns weren’t helping, did you? Or that the COVID-19 vaccine, touted as a magical elixir to save us from our selfish, autonomy-loving selves, was going to make the power-grab go away? […] . . . a real return to normal would mean giving up the power trip that came with telling an entire country how to live, or not live, their lives, down to what they must wear and how they must breathe. So Biden, Pelosi, Democrat governors, and the unelected goons at the CDC want to send you into round two of senseless COVID-19 mandates.

O’Neil: BREAKING: House Democrats Make History by Striking the Hyde Amendment
For the first time in 45 years, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a spending bill funding Medicaid without the Hyde Amendment, a measure that protects taxpayers from being forced to pay for abortion. The spending bill will face a tough hurdle in the Senate, but the bill still sets a terrifying precedent for pro-life taxpayers. […] Republicans opposed the bill because Democrats had removed two essential abortion-related provisions: the Hyde Amendment and the Weldon Amendment, which prohibits agencies receiving federal funding from discriminating against entities because they refuse to provide or pay for abortions.

Sacca: US surgeon general recommends fully vaccinated people wear masks outdoors to protect the unvaccinated
U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is recommending that fully vaccinated individuals wear face masks outdoors to protect the unvaccinated. Murthy made the suggestion during an appearance on MSNBC, where he said fully vaccinated individuals wearing masks indoors and outdoors was an “extra step” of protection to unvaccinated people.

I & I Editorial Board: Another Scheme To Enlarge An Already Bloated Federal Government
If Democrats have their way, America will eventually form a Civilian Climate Corps that will hire and train people to save Earth from overheating. It’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from the party that is obsessed with being an unchallengeable ruling class rather than a participant in our republican style of government. Last week, House and Senate Democrats celebrated “the newfound momentum behind establishing a formal successor to the Civilian Conservation Corps, a New Deal-era initiative that put people to work building parks, paving roads and planting trees,” E&E News reported. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, promised to use the “power” of his position “to ensure that the Civilian Climate Corps will be included in the reconciliation package, and I will fight to get the biggest boldest CCC possible.” […] Simply put, the Democrats are looking to equip 1.5 million shock troops to enforce the Green New Deal.

Wolfe: At least one California inmate pregnant as ‘transgender’ convicts move into women’s prisons
At least one female California prisoner has become pregnant, and multiple others may have been assaulted, as California continues moving biological men claiming to be women into actual women’s prisons, a feminist legal group has said. “We have now heard from seven different people inside CCWF [Central California Women’s Facility] that at least one woman, possibly more, is now pregnant after being housed with a male felon who was transferred to the women’s prison under SB132,” Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF), a pro-abortion, “radical feminist” group that opposes transgenderism, tweeted Monday.
The non-profit had reported last week that CCWF, the largest women’s prison in the state, had begun offering contraception amid alleged assaults by gender-confused men, in what inmates were calling “a nightmare’s worst nightmare.” “The new resources are a tacit admission by officials that women should expect to be raped when housed in prison with men, where all sex is considered non-consensual by default within the system,” WoLF said. The group added that “posters recently appeared in medical rooms outlining the options available to ‘pregnant people’ in prison,” including abortion.

The Authoritarians: Their Assault on Individual Liberty, the Constitution, and Free Enterprise from the 19th Century to the Present
by Jonathan W. Emord (Author) at Barnes & Nobles.

Mulligan: Monetary Policy Since the Great Recession
After the 2007-2009 financial crisis, the Great Recession it precipitated, the exceptionally sluggish recovery, and now the pandemic recession, the U.S. has essentially entered a new macroeconomic environment. For most of the 2010s, there was a general consensus that inflation was not too much of a problem. This very complacency has now set the stage for higher inflation by limiting our viable policy options. At this point, it will be helpful to review the 2010s’ macroeconomic rollercoaster to fully appreciate how we got where we are, and what it bodes for the future.
