NOTABLE QUOTES

John Dietrich contributor to American Thinker: The U.S. government appears to have a closer relationship with the Taliban than with its Afghan and NATO allies. The military withdrew from Bagram Airfield in the dead of night “without notifying the base’s new Afghan commander who discovered the Americans’ departure more than two hours after they left.

Emily Miller DC Insider and journalist tweeted: There are several groups of retired special operations guys and other veterans who have gathered significant private funding and moved lots of assets to begin rescuing people from Afghanistan since our Government refuses to do their job.

Kathy McCollum, the mother of slain U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum called in to the Wilkow Report: “My son is gone, and I just want all you Democrats who cheated in the election, or who voted for him legitimately, you just killed my son. With a dementia ridden piece of crap who doesn’t even know he’s in the White House who still thinks he’s a senator.“

Antoinette Aubert contributor to American Greatness: To blame Biden’s apparent mental incapacity is to let the Left off the hook for a half-century of disasters.

Brian T. Kennedy contributor to The Amrican Mind: The exit from Afghanistan, then, appears designed to accomplish two things: first, to demoralize the American military and the American people. Over 22,000 American service personnel have been killed or injured in Afghanistan. Every American knows someone who served there. Knowing full well that the Afghan military would not defend the country, there could be little doubt that the United States was turning the country over to the Taliban. Moreover, the US did so with the appearance of being run out of the country in shame and defeat. One can only assume this was meant to demonstrate to American servicemen that their sacrifice had been in vain, and to the American people that our cause of defending America from the scourge of radical Islam was not just.

Dennis Prager contributor to Daily Wire: Why are cities dens of iniquity and incubators of destructive ideas? One answer to the first question is anonymity: the bigger the city, the more anonymous the individual. People behave much better when they are known to their neighbors.

PRESIDENT TRUMP

Lendrum: Seven Capitol Police Officers Sue President Trump, Claiming He is Responsible for January 6th Protests
The lawsuit was filed with the U.S. District Court in Washington D.C., by the group Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; the suit claims that President Trump’s rhetoric leading up to January 6th, in which he called out widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election that may have ultimately swung the election results away from him and in favor of Joe Biden, violated the Ku Klux Klan Act. “Because of Defendants’ actions,” the lawsuit baselessly claims, “Plaintiffs were violently assaulted, spat on, tear-gassed, bear-sprayed, subject to racial slurs and epithets, and put in fear for their lives. Plaintiffs’ injuries, which Defendants caused, persist to this day.”

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: THE AFGHANISTAN DISGRACE

Richard Grenell Acting Director of National Intelligence in President Donald Trump’s Cabinet tweeted: The Taliban have offered Joe Biden a deal: unfreeze the Afghan funds and they will extend the deadline.

Heine: Biden Officials Gave the Names of Americans and Afghan Allies Trying to Evacuate to the Taliban
U.S. officials in Kabul have given the Taliban “a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies” who should be granted entry through Taliban checkpoints outside the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA), Politico reported Thursday. This decision to trust the Taliban with this information has reportedly “prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials.” The U.S. military has been sharing “information with the Taliban” since Aug. 14 ostensibly to prevent attacks, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr. confirmed during a Pentagon briefing Thursday.
[…] “Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official, who like others spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive topic. “It’s just appalling and shocking and makes you feel unclean.”

Fox News: Taliban rule will be ‘a long slow death’ for women, Lara Logan says
In numerous interviews Fox News has conducted since the Taliban seized Kabul, a central theme emerged: women will almost certainly face unforgiving brutality despite the Taliban’s promises.

Emily Miller DC Insider and journalist tweeted: “We’re dealing with Kabul. There’s 7 buses of female American citizens. The CG refused to open the gate. We have a congressman with us and he had the state department reach out. MG Donahue refused. 10 minutes ago the females were taken by the Taliban. They are likely dead now.”

Anton: Afghanistan: Doomed from the Start
The mission that the United States—or, to be more precise, the George W. Bush Administration—set for itself in Afghanistan was doomed from the beginning. It declared unrealizable goals, which experience quickly showed were unrealizable, and then instead of learning from that experience, doubled and tripled down over and over. And not just the Bush Administration but the entire bipartisan foreign policy establishment. If the hoary cliché is true that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, then American policy in Afghanistan over the last 20 years is a textbook example.
[…] In the context of the day, then, a response to 9/11 was required. But what response? The Bush Administration’s initial answer was sound, even brilliant: punish al-Qaeda and its Taliban sponsors with a lightning-quick campaign, led by the smallest possible American force, acting to multiply the effectiveness of several indigenous Afghan armies. It failed, ultimately, because of a failure of nerve, or of execution, or from naïveté—it’s hard to say what, exactly. All we know is that Osama bin Laden and his senior lieutenants fled into the caves of Tora Bora and, somehow, managed to get out. The most common explanation is that Washington refused to order, or authorize, the force necessary to finish the job. Hence the American commanders on the ground entrusted the pursuit to our local “partners,” who in turn aided al-Qaeda’s escape. It’s hardly a secret that men often seek an easy out, a half-measure or middle way, that avoids a hard choice while promising the desired outcome. If this account is correct, top American officials successfully avoided the hard choice and, predictably, didn’t achieve the desired end.

Codevilla: Graveyard of Narratives
Perhaps the only useful result of the Afghan enterprise’s clamorous collapse is the widespread recognition that we are not seeing the results of discrete choices about foreign policy. Disaster in Kabul having elicited a mass of nearly indistinguishable pile-on commentary by uninformed persons, it may be useful for me, who am all too deeply familiar with U.S. intelligence in general, and who have been involved with the U.S. government’s activities in Afghanistan and regarding terrorism since 1979, to write this memorandum as a record to distinguish between the several “narratives” on the subject, and what we know to be factually true. Between 1979 and 1985, when I took the lead on Afghan matters for the Senate Intelligence Committee, the CIA had no sources in Afghanistan, and had assigned all of one-and-a-half full-time persons at its station in Islamabad to Afghan matters. None had direct contact with Afghans. When I took two CIA officers to meet with the Mujahedeen, along with a staff delegation, they were the first to have any contact. But the Agency’s ignorance of the place did not prevent it from being a major player in U.S. policy. That did not change until, after 2001, the CIA flooded the place with its usual “official cover” parroters of “narratives.” […] The U.S. occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq never stopped local factions from pushing their agendas by war. The U.S. government merely put Americans in the line of fire between them. What did the United States think that it was doing? Because the official narratives did not actually shape what the government was doing, they are not to be taken seriously. What did the U.S. government actually do in Afghanistan and Iraq? Only the things it really cares to or knows how to do—namely, richly to hire its favorite people to try reshaping mankind in their own image.

PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY HAVE YOUR VOICES HEARD

Rantz: Mass Resistance Arises As Washington Makes It Nearly Impossible To Get Vaccine Exemptions
Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee does not want to grant any religious exemptions for his vaccine mandate, and his office isn’t afraid to hide it. The rules appear so extreme that affected staff are unlikely to receive a religious exemption if a doctor or nurse has ever given them ibuprofen. Inslee ordered all state employees, health-care workers including firefighters, and both public and private school staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID by October 18 regardless of age, risk factors, or previous COVID diagnosis. If they are not injected by the deadline, Inslee vows to fire them. What’s worse, Washingtonians would not likely be eligible for unemployment benefits if fired for not getting vaccinated. The only ways out of the mandate are via medical or religious exemptions. Inslee’s staff knew there would be resistance, and his staff grew concerned that employees would feign religious objections to be exempt. While a medical exemption would require a doctor’s sign-off, religious exemptions were more challenging to control. So they concocted a plan.

OAN Newsroom: Tea Party Patriots Unveil Over 60 Rallies Against Vaccine Mandates, Groups Says Forced Vaccinations Violate Human Rights
The rallies come as part of the “Just Say No” campaign. Tea Party Patriots added forced vaccination with experimental jabs violated the Nuremberg Code, which mandates voluntary consent. “The time is now today to step up and be a leader and to help us hold on to freedom in this country and to prevent the tyranny that is taking hold and make sure we prevent that from happening in our country,” explained Jenny Beth Martin, honorary chairman of Tea Party Patriots. “That is our big, big call to action. On our website at stopmedicalmandates.com, you’ll see we have posters.”

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

McCann: Did the FDA Pull a Bait-and-Switch on the American People?
On August 23rd all the mainstream or agitprop media outlets were trumpeting the news that the FDA had granted permanent approval for the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. The press breathlessly reported that vaccine mandates were now legal for healthcare workers, employees in private industry, college students, and government employees at all levels including teachers and school staff. Almost immediately Joe Biden shuffled his way to the podium and read off his teleprompter that all businesses should immediately institute vaccine mandates. The Pentagon announced that vaccinations would be mandatory for all active service members. Bill de Blasio immediately instituted a vaccine mandate for all New York City teachers and staff. But what the agitprop media and the Biden White House failed to report is that there are two critical issues as to whether the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine (which is what has been and continues to be administered) can be mandated and whether Pfizer can be held liable for injuries, a provision that accompanies permanent approval of a vaccine or drug. What the FDA approved and licensed is Pfizer’s Comirnaty Covid vaccine not the current Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine in use under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Binder: Photos: Joe Biden Flies 14,000 Afghans into Dulles, Virginia, in 12 Days
According to Gov. Ralph Northam (D-VA), the Biden administration has flown about 14,000 Afghans to Dulles after having evacuated them from Afghanistan in the quest to resettle tens of thousands, and potentially hundreds of thousands, across the U.S. Some mass migration advocates want 1.2 million Afghans resettled in the U.S. […] After arriving in Dulles, Afghans are being resettled in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Arizona, among other states like New Jersey and New York. Virginia, also, is resettling Afghans.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY MARXISTS PLAYBOOK: CRITICAL RACE THEORY (WOKE IDENTITY POLITICS)

Revolver.news: If You Thought The Classrooms Were Bad, There’s a More Toxic Strain of Critical Race Theory Flowing From US Courtrooms
But Critical Race Theory, or CRT, didn’t originate in America’s primary schools. CRT began as a legal doctrine within America’s law schools — and it is in this capacity that it can still do the most damage. Case in point: A federal judge in Nevada just recently demonstrated the potential of CRT as a legal doctrine in what might be called America’s first entirely CRT-driven constitutional ruling. If allowed to stand, this ruling would enshrine open borders as a permanent feature of American law. The case in question hinges on the fate of Carrillo-Lopez, a Mexican national and career criminal with a dizzying array of aliases.
[…] The earliest critical race theorists were all current or future law professors: Kimberlé Crenshaw (UCLA and Columbia), Mari Matsuda (UCLA and Hawaii), Derrick Bell (Harvard and Oregon), and so forth. Critical race theory is evil and toxic when put in the hands of a public school principal. It is far deadlier when given over to a willing federal judge, because CRT offers an ideological framework that justifies even the most extreme, anti-constitutional rulings in the name of our corrupt ruling class’ radical agenda. Consider this introductory essay on CRT featured by the American Bar Association: . . .

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN

Davidson: The ACLU Is Suing To Give The Government More Power To Mask Your Kids
The American Civil Liberties Union is suing South Carolina over a ban on mask mandates in schools. Earlier this summer, the South Carolina state legislature passed a budget bill with conditions prohibiting school districts from using government funds to “require that its students and/or employees wear a face mask at any of its education facilities.” Scientific studies are clear that COVID-19 transmission among children is much lower than among adults but that hasn’t stopped the Biden administration, the CDC, teachers’ unions, and now the ACLU from pushing for students and vaccinated teachers to mask up this fall.
