HAPPY NEW YEAR: New year, new start. Wishing you a healthy, happy and blessed  2022.

The American Story: RESOLUTION
“Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve.” Often our New Year’s resolutions are lighthearted, and usually, the flesh being weak, they are fleeting. Before Valentine’s Day or maybe even before Epiphany, we have slipped back into our old ways. But these lighthearted resolutions reflect a deeper, more serious impulse.

NOTABLE QUOTES

Judi McLeod award winning journalist and contributor to Canada Free Press:   A legitimate 2022 worry: As powerful governments, media and unelected health authorities desperately scramble to regain credibility and gravitas, are any horrors being planned to divert the attention of the masses away from what the Biden admin and other governments are doing to their own populations? Unfortunately we may not know until those horrors are upon us.

Alexander Zubatov contributor to The American Mind: . . . what Twitter actually unleashes is the rule of the mob, Nisbet’s “normless, unattached, insecure individuals” easily directed yet manipulated by demagogues onto a censorious, narrowing track. True democracy, rests on the assumption that there exists some common good that we not only strive to discern but create by working together in real life, at human scale, in the world outside our door.

Jeffrey I. Barke, M.D. contributor to American Thinker: It appears that the mistrust of the CDC, FDA, NIH — even hospitals and physician groups — for incessantly pushing a vaccine is growing.  To this end, I am hearing of doctors who refuse to see unvaccinated patients, hospitals that slow-walk treatment with unvaccinated patients, and even pediatricians who push COVID vaccinations on kids as young as five.  This violation of basic medical ethics is not only disgraceful, but dangerous in the long term.

Christopher Bedford senior editor at  The Federalist: COVID means fear, control, and lockdowns because we’ve allowed people to make it mean fear, control, and lockdowns.

Jim Thompson contributor to RedSate: A few weeks ago, a woman passed me with two children. She was masked. So was the 5-year-old. She was pushing a baby stroller. I couldn’t force myself to look into the carriage fearing the baby was masked. It’s a cult.

Megan Fox contributor to PJ Media: The mask has become a physical symbol of the servant class.

GOP

Ginsberg: These Are The Most Important Senate Races In 2022
With the Senate tied 50-50, just a few key races will decide which party controls Congress’ upper chamber for the last two years of President Joe Biden’s first term. In addition to key pieces of legislation, executive and judicial nominees will depend on whether Democrats can maintain control, or Republicans take over. Here are five of the most important Senate races to watch during the midterms: . . .

FAUCI’S VIRUS: IT’S POLITICAL

Billingsley: Fauci’s Wife Heads Department of Bioethics at NIH
Dr. Anthony Fauci is the highest paid bureaucrat in the entire federal government, and bags a bigger salary than the president of the United States. As head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Dr. Fauci commands a budget of more than $6 billion. Beside all that money, power and prestige, Dr. Fauci holds a strategic advantage. Christine Grady, Dr. Fauci’s wife, is director of the NIH’s Department of Bioethics and heads the section on human subjects research.  […]  Christine Grady earned a PhD in philosophy and bioethics from Georgetown but she is not a medical doctor and like her husband holds no advanced degrees in biochemistry or molecular biology. In 1995 Grady authored The Search for an AIDS VaccineEthical Issues in the development and testing of a preventative AIDS vaccine. As the back cover explains, “Grady explores the current wisdom governing research with human subjects” (emphasis added) and “clinical trials are already ongoing.” […]  Dr. Fauci has reversed himself many times but the NIAID boss now claims “I represent science.” No word from Grady about that open declaration of megalomania. By all indications, Christine Grady’s husband can say or do just about anything, and the NIH bioethics boss has no problem with it. What could possibly go wrong?

Talcott: CDC Director Walensky Says Shortening Isolation Guidance Was Partly Due To What Americans Could ‘Tolerate’
“It really had a lot to do with what we thought people would be able to tolerate,” Walensky told CNN. “We have seen relatively low rates of isolation for all this pandemic. Some science is demonstrating less than a third of people are isolating when they need to. And so, we want to make sure we have guidance in this moment where we were going to have a lot of disease that could be adhered to, that people were willing to adhere to, and that spoke specifically to when people were maximally infectious. So It spoke to both behaviors as well as what people were able to do.”

AN AMERICA IN DECLINE

VDH: The Ungracious—and Their Demonization of the Past
The last two years have seen an unprecedented escalation in a decades-long war on the American past. But there are lots of logical flaws in attacking prior generations in U.S. history. Critics assume their own judgmental generation is morally superior to those of the past. So, they use their own standards to condemn the mute dead who supposedly do not measure up to them. Yet 21st century critics rarely acknowledge their own present affluence and leisure owe much to history’s prior generations whose toil helped create their current comfort. And what may future scolds say of the modern generation that saw over 60 million abortions since Roe v. Wade, even as fetal viability outside the womb continued to progress to ever earlier ages? What will our grandchildren say of us who dumped on them over $30 trillion in national debt—much of it as borrowing for entitlements for ourselves? What sort of society snoozes as record numbers of murders continue in 12 of its major cities? What is so civilized about . . .

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEM

Chang: American Traitors: Academics Working for China
China’s regime has bought America’s academic community and turned it against America. “This case is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what needs to be done by the U.S. government to penetrate and prosecute China’s co-option of America’s academia.” — Kerry Gershaneck, the author of Political Warfare: Strategies for Combating China’s Plan to “Win Without Fighting” and a professor in Taiwan, to Gatestone, December 2021. “Scientists around the world, identified as leaders in areas of advanced research that are strategic priorities, are targeted by a well-funded sophisticated engagement that plays on their vanity, naiveté, and greed.” — Charles Burton, former professor at Brock University and now a leading expert on China’s infiltration of Canada, to Gatestone. I am told there are “thousands” of professors on Beijing’s payroll in California universities.

Revolver.news: Will China Beat Us Back to the Moon?
China just released its latest space exploration plans, according to Chinese state media, and it turns out the Middle Kingdom plans to put taikonauts (Chinese astronauts) on the moon ahead of schedule. Bloomberg had the story: . . .[…]  China is untrustworthy enough when it comes to pronouncements of what it has already accomplished, let alone bold predictions about future accomplishments, so we take the rising superpower’s claims with a grain of salt (or rice, if you prefer). All the same, China boasts impressive achievements in space technology as of late. In 2019, for example, China made history by becoming the first country to land a probe on the dark side of the moon, and then proceeded to become the first country to grow plants on the moon. This summer, China even matched the US’s feat of landing a rover on Mars. However seriously we choose to take China’s ambitious moonshot prediction, we would be foolish not to take the occasion to revisit America’s own plans to repeat a manned mission to the moon. […]  To land on the moon in 2024, Artemis required: . . . And hey, America already did all of this fifty years ago, so how hard could it be? You know the answer. Two years have passed since . . .

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING AMERICA

Schlichter: The Establishment Wants to Crush You Uppity Peasants
Some guy named Jared Schmeck recently mocked the senile old pervert who is masquerading as our president by getting His Crustiness to affirm “Let’s go, Brandon!” This humiliation of the regime figurehead, piled upon the myriad other humiliations he has brought upon himself – failing to pass infrastructure, Afghanistan, putting the “can” in “Vatican” – is intolerable to the establishment. This uppitiness must be stopped. And it’s even less tolerable because “Let’s Go, Brandon” is a manifestation of the class warfare that increasingly characterizes American society. It’s the cry of the working class, bold and joyous, utterly uncontrollable. It has energy and cheer, while the pathetic moaning of the ruling caste’s spokescreatures is rote, boring, and bereft of any power. The regime-approved memes our elite’s minions repeat on cable and in social media are the chant of serfs. So, the garbage regime and it’s ridiculous legacy media minions must try to stifle this rebellion.

Gonzales: Zombie Marxism
We must understand this as a global threat. Since its birth in the 1848 Communist Manifesto by Marx and Friedrich Engels, communism has been a call to arms that knows no borders. But we must also understand—as the Kremlin in its time certainly did—that the big fight is over the United States. Once Marxists seize that most elusive jewel in the crown, they have the world. That’s why this essay will focus mostly on the U.S. Before we catalog the dangerous state of play with communism, we should remember the good news. Marxism may be resurgent, but it is being vigorously confronted by the same force that defeated the Soviet Union: the American people. They have joined what some may dismiss as “culture wars,” but is really a consequential battle of ideas. Surveys show Americans, writ large, reject these ideas, and are starting to discern the stakes. We need discernment because Marxism’s breakthroughs today are the result of different strategies and tactics. […] A grand strategy to confront the new Marxist threat would need to understand the mutation. It would need to grasp the fact that the new threat relies on organizing people in different environments and then indoctrinating them. It takes place on buses, domestic work, schools, or neighborhoods about to be gentrified. A grand strategy must grasp what is at stake. It’s nothing less than the replacement of the key American idea that “All Men Are Created Equal” with the lie of white supremacy. Such a strategy would have to reckon with what is happening in our schools. It would need to understand that violence will remain central to Marxist success. Dismantling police forces, the prisons, and the court system itself (which Patrisse Cullors calls for in this video) is part of an effort to leave society defenseless. Once enough people are converted, then the revolutionaries need only wait for a moment of crisis.

McCaughey: Dems Reject Work Ethic, Embrace Freeloaders
The Democratic Party used to call itself the party of working people and hail the “dignity of work.” No more. Now Democrats want to guarantee people who choose not to work an income funded by the suckers who do the right thing by showing up for work, caring for their family and paying taxes. Fortunately, these self-supporting Americans just dodged a bullet. The failure to pass Build Back Better in Congress, thanks to holdout Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) means that the monthly checks or automatic bank deposits to parents with kids, sometimes dubbed Biden Bucks, come to an end this month. For working people, the monthly payments were merely an advance on their tax refunds—but parents who choose not to work have been getting no-strings money to support their nonworking lifestyle. […]  Sorry, but most Americans don’t want to support the moochers.

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON CHILDREN

Johnson: Joy Reid Asks For Proof Porn Is In High School Libraries. Here It Is.
When a Twitter reader asked if Reid had seen some of the pornographic material in public school libraries, Reid challenged her: “Can you name some of the titles you’re talking about and the offending passages? I highly doubt libraries are stocked with pornography, but happy to hear your intel.” The user then named a number of books including Jack of Hearts (and Other Parts), Gender Queer (illustrated), All Boys Aren’t Blue, and Tricks. As of this writing, Reid has not responded. […]  Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe is a graphic novel that contains multiple, explicit depictions of homosexual oral sex. When Asra Nomani of Parents Defending Education posted a video of Langton’s speech, which contains pictures of the pornographic cartoons, Twitter covered up the video with the warning, “The following media includes potentially sensitive content” — precisely the same way Twitter treats hardcore pornography. […]  As Twitter’s policy on “adult content” states: . . . […]  Joy Reid’s hyperfocus on race may have caused her to miss the details of the issues she has covered repeatedly on her show. Or Reid may have been trolling someone on Twitter. Either way, she ignored the facts, feigned ignorance of the facts, or possessed bona fide ignorance of the facts of a story she covered incessantly. Whatever the case, it speaks poorly of her (and her network’s) journalistic quality, authority, and integrity.

Tietz: 30,000 Unvaccinated Students Throw Los Angeles District’s Mandate Into Limbo
LAUSD said it decided to delay the vaccine requirement due to concerns about how to consolidate classes, reallocate teachers and move 30,000 students to remote learning by the January deadline, Politico reported. On Dec. 7, LAUSD fired almost 500 employees who did not get their first dose of the vaccine by Nov. 15.

THE CORRUPT & DANGEROUS DEMOCRAT PARTY’S MEDIA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Zubatov: Bird of Prey
Twitter’s beak drips with the lifeblood of American democracy. Over the course of the twentieth century, a variety of thinkers of all political stripes have made the same point concerning the decline of communal life within advanced Western polities. Individuals whose identities and moral commitments arose from the various communities of which they were a part have become atomized into a mass of free-floating particles alienated from the larger whole. From this broth has bubbled up social media, furnishing a pseudo-intimacy to replace the real intimate ties that our social life can no longer provide. But, in contrast to traditional communal life, the way in which social media ties us together is destructive, serving to amplify our worst and most sociopathic tendencies—and Twitter is by far the worst of the lot. If we have any hope of regaining the kind of trust that is indispensable in a diverse and pluralistic democracy like our own, we must do all we can to destroy it.

Sundance: Dr Robert Malone Permanently Suspended from Twitter Platform
The larger issue is not related to Twitter’s individual and arbitrary rules, but rather all Americans should consider that communication about COVID-19 is being restricted by various compliance officers operating on behalf of the state. We are living in a communication era of Orwellian proportions. We are also entering into a very dangerous phase in our national history.  People are eyes-wide-open to the vaccine propaganda, messaging and inherent conflicts from officials in the institutions of government and health. While it may sound like a good outcome to have massive numbers of Americans awaken to their new reality, and that outcome results in a complete collapse in confidence with government officials, the downstream consequence of such severe destabilization comes at a much higher cost than the virus itself. Dr. Malone can be found on the Substack platform where he shares the following message: . . . […]  My Substack sign-up is: AVAILABLE HERE

Appleford: L.A.’s Arms Race of the Affluent
In Beverly Hills, even the purchase of a firearm comes with certain…expectations. The city’s only gun store, Beverly Hills Guns, is a “concierge service” by appointment only, for a largely affluent clientele. And business is booming. Since opening in July 2020, the store has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following several high-profile smash-and-grab and violent home invasion robberies. The apparent siege has brought in a daily stream of anxious business owners and prominent actors, real estate moguls and film execs, says owner Russell Stuart. Most are arming themselves for the first time. “This morning I sold six shotguns in about an hour to people that say, ‘I want a home defense shotgun,’” says Stuart, whose store is discreetly located in a Beverly Hills office building, with no sign on the doors, down the hall from a diamond dealer. “Everyone has a general sense of constant fear,  which is very sad. We’re used to this being like Mayberry.” [NOTE: The Conservative Treehouse’s Sundance wrote: Keep in mind, this is the epicenter of the West Coast donor base for the DNC.]

Washington Free Beacon Staff: 2021 Man of the Year: Travis Curry
The world is full of haters and losers. We all know the type. Miserable people who want to drag the rest of us down to their level and won’t rest until they do. They nag, scold, and harangue those who dare to live boldly, people who make full use of their unalienable right to pursue happiness. People like Travis Curry. The 34-year-old freelance photographer was roundly mocked after he appeared in the pages of the New York Times to bemoan the lapse of federal unemployment benefits. “To just cut people off, it’s ridiculous and it’s unethical and it’s evil,” said Curry, bravely refusing to cower before the social media mob that told him to end his photography dreams and take one of the 300,000 jobs available in New York City.

Marsh: Eric Adams launches new City Hall office to crack down on waste, fraud
Mayor-elect Eric Adams announced a new office in City Hall that will crack down on waste, fraud and abuse in city government — and his first targets will be the bloated budgets of the Department of Education, Department of Correction and New York City Housing Authority. “We are not giving taxpayers their money’s worth every day and that’s what we are going to change. making sure our government is going to work for our taxpayers,” Adams said Tuesday in launching the newly created Mayor’s Office of Risk Management and Compliance. “We’re going to be rooting out waste, fraud and abuse in our agencies,” Adams said from Brooklyn Borough Hall where he’s serving his final days as borough president. The new office will focus on inefficiencies in those three key agencies as its first order of business.
