Kelly: Did the Justice Department Lie About Pence and Harris’ Location on January 6?
Of the more than 725 Americans arrested so far for various crimes related to the Capitol protest on January 6, 2021, nearly every defendant faces the same two misdemeanor charges: “entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds” and “disorderly conduct in a restricted building or grounds.”
The basis for the offenses is not, as the American people repeatedly have been told, that the building was closed to the public that day. After all, hundreds of people were allowed inside as Capitol police stood by; no signage or official announcements alerted the public that the building was off-limits.
Instead, the Justice Department has argued that the presence of both Vice President Michael Pence and incoming Vice President Kamala Harris rendered entry into the Capitol on January 6 a federal crime under 18 U.S. Code section 1752. In every charging document, the government relies on section 1752 to define a “restricted building” as the location of the “President or other person protected by the Secret Service,” which would have included Pence and Harris.

The high court on Monday announced it would not consider an appeal by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to reconsider his lawsuit against proxy voting. House Democrats voted to allow proxy voting in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The rule allows each member to vote on behalf of up to 10 other lawmakers, which McCarthy has argued is unconstitutional and strips constituents of proper representation in Congress. […] Proxy voting requires lawmakers to cite the pandemic when they use the procedure, but the policy has increasingly been employed by Republicans and Democrats who have other reasons for not being present in the Capitol for a vote, including family emergencies, vacations, convenience, and other health reasons.

Monoclonal antibody sites throughout Florida will be closed after the Food and Drug Administration adjusted its authorization for the COVID-19 treatment. The new FDA policy only allows those “likely to have been infected with or exposed to a variant that is susceptible to these treatments” to receive the new medication, despite Florida’s leadership advocating for its use among the populace. “This indefensible edict takes treatment out of the hands of medical professionals and will cost some Americans their lives,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a Monday statement. “There are real-world implications to Biden’s medical authoritarianism — Americans’ access to treatments is now subject to the whims of a failing president.”

(1/19/22) New Hampshire Pharmacies Could Soon Dispense Ivermectin Without Doctor Approval
New Hampshire residents may soon be able to receive ivermectin from pharmacies without first getting a prescription or approval from a doctor. Proposed legislation titled House Bill 1022 would allow pharmacists to dispense the drug, which some believe can treat COVID-19 even though it lacks approval for such use from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), by means of standing orders. Under the law, pharmacists would be able to “dispense ivermectin under the delegated prescriptive authority of the physician or APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurses), specify a mechanism to document screening performed and the prescription in the patient’s medical record, and include a plan for evaluating and treating adverse events,” according to the bill. “Any such prescription shall be regarded as being issued for a legitimate medical purpose in the usual course of professional practice.”

Luisa Petenuci took the Pfizer shot on Tuesday, January 18th in Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo. After 12 hours, she suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on her father’s lap. Police officer Claudimar Petenuci, father of 10-year-old Luisa Petenuci, shared the horrific incident in an audio that went viral on social media.
“She took the vaccine in the morning, and at 9 o’clock at night she came to my room saying that her heart was beating very hard, when I put my hand, it was something unbelievable. She fainted on my lap,” says the police officer [translated]. […] Following the incident, the municipality of Lençóis Paulista suspended for 7 days the vaccination of children aged between 5 and 11 years old. The Chinese government uses the company’s technology to surveil Chinese Uyghurs and other persecuted groups. The Commerce Department sanctioned iFlytek along with other Chinese artificial intelligence firms in 2019 for their role in “human rights violations and abuses in the implementation of China’s campaign of repression, mass arbitrary detention, and high-technology surveillance.” Sen. Jim Risch (R., Idaho), the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called iFlytek’s involvement in the Olympics “truly shameful.”

Fu: China’s Huawei Pays Tony Podesta $1 Million for White House Lobbying
Long-time Democratic power broker Tony Podesta has earned $1 million over the past half-year lobbying the Biden White House at the behest of a blacklisted Chinese tech giant, recent federal disclosures show.
Huawei, which was placed under trade sanctions during the Trump administration, paid Podesta $500,000 in the fourth quarter of 2021 in an attempt to shake off the trade impact of the restrictions, according to the disclosure form filed on the evening of Jan. 20. With the $500,000 Podesta made from the previous three months by lobbying the White House, he has been compensated $1 million over a six-month period for the lobbying effort. Podesta’s latest lobbying campaign targeted the Executive Office of the President and centered around “telecommunications services and impacted trade issues,” according to the disclosure. {Note: Tony Podesta is John Podesta’s brother. Doocy asked Biden: “Do you think inflation is a political liability ahead of the midterms?” President Biden was caught on a hot mic Monday evening calling Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy “a stupid son of a bitch,” after he asked the president about inflation. Doocy said later in the evening that Biden called his cellphone and said about the comment, “It’s nothing personal, pal,” and that they talked about their question-and-answer sessions going forward. Biden original comment came after he met with members of his administration to discuss efforts combating inflation. When Biden was asked about Ukraine, he complained that reporters “never report on why I called the meeting.”

Fairbanks: Denver Elementary School Teaching Kids to ‘Disrupt the Nuclear Family’ and Support BLM
The teachings were outlined in an instruction guide for kindergarten and first graders on the “Black Lives Matter Guiding Principles” for their Black Lives Matter Week. The shocking document was obtained by the organization Parents Defending Education. The Denver Gazette reports, “among the listed principles was ‘globalism,’ which the school described as ‘our ability to see how we are impacted or privileged within the global black family.’ Also listed were ‘transgender affirming,’ ‘Black families,’ which was defined as ‘a space that is family friendly and free from patriarchal practices,’ and ‘Black Villages,’ which is ‘the disruption of western nuclear family dynamics and a return to the ‘collective village’ that takes care of each other.’”

Hernandez: California mother claims teachers manipulated her daughter to change her gender identity
A California mother said her daughter’s teachers are “predatory” and “disgusting” after she filed a lawsuit against them and school district officials that alleged two teachers brainwashed her preteen to secretly change her gender. Jessica Konen filed the suit last week against teachers Lori Caldiera, Kelly Baraki and the Spreckels Union School District for allegedly manipulating her seventh-grade daughter to change her gender identity under the guise of the district’s “Parental Secret Policy” where teachers could counsel students about their gender confusion and assert a new gender identity without notifying parents.
In one of her shocking claims, Konen said the two teachers actively sought out students who they thought were struggling with their identities and invited them to the school’s Equality Club. […] Harmeet K. Dhillon, who is representing Konan and is the founder of the Center for American Liberty, said Konan’s daughter is back to identifying as a girl after being away from teachers who allegedly “brainwashed” the student.

Kaminsky: Oregon School Launches LGBT Club For 4th And 5th Graders; No Parent Consent Needed
Fourth graders at Raleigh Hills Elementary School, located in Beaverton, were presented with a slideshow in early January unveiling the formation of a QSA club — unbeknownst to parents. The presentation, which says the club will “have conversations about identity, gender, equal rights, and social issues,” “explore LGBTQ+ history and activism,” as well as “advocate for change in our school and community,” was presented by a social worker and a few fifth graders. […] After the presentation, Amanda Cook, a social worker, allegedly sent around a sign-up sheet to collect signatures. In one class, every student wrote their names down. But one boy, whose name The Daily Wire is withholding due to his age, declined to do so. The boy told Cook he could not join the QSA club without his parents’ knowledge, . . . […] “I lost it,” Arlene told The Daily Wire, noting that she is a liberal and thinks the club is not student-initiated like Beaverton School District (BSD) claims. “I’m not homophobic. But this just isn’t right. This stuff needs to be taught at home. There is a bigger picture here. This isn’t just a bunch of kids wanting to get together and start a club. Why would the school target fourth and fifth graders?”

Martinez: Furious parents call for teacher to be fired after she was photographed TAPING a mask to ‘mortified’ student’s face
Furious parents are calling for a Pennsylvania middle school teacher to be fired after she was photographed taping a mask to a student’s face. On Monday, a Facebook group called ‘North Penn Stronger Together’ shared a picture of a teacher at Pennfield Middle School in Hatfield taping a mask onto male student’s face. The student’s age or grade are not known. ‘Pro-mask or anti-mask, I hope we can all agree that taping masks to children’s faces crosses the LINE. This was not a joke for the child or the parents,’ the post said. Pennfield, which covers grades seven through nine for kids aged 12 to 15, requires students, teachers and visitors to wear masks.

Sundance: New York Governor Kathy Hochul Equates Masks in School to Children Wearing Shoes, They’ll Get Used to It
During her press conference today, Governor Hochul was questioned repeatedly about the state mask mandate for kids in school. After several justifications, she encapsulated her refusal to remove the mask mandate by saying her own kids didn’t like wearing sneakers at first, but they got used to it. Ergo, New York students will get used to wearing masks.
