President Joe Biden will keep his campaign promise to name a black woman to the Supreme Court, the White House confirmed on Wednesday amid reports Justice Stephen Breyer will retire at the end of the current term. The current court term will end in June or early July. Biden pledged during the 2020 presidential campaign to name a black woman as justice. ‘The president has stated and reiterated his commitment to nominating a black woman to the Supreme Court and certainly stands by that,’ White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at her daily press briefing. The pick would be historic, marking the first time a black woman was named to the highest court in the land. Several names are in the mix, including federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who issued the ‘presidents are not kings’ ruling; Leondra Kruger, a justice on California’s Supreme Court; federal Judge J. Michelle Childs of South Carolina who is a favorite of Rep. The Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, ruled Tuesday that St. Louis’ top prosecutor must hand over records concerning her bungled prosecution of former Gov. Eric Greitens to Just the News CEO and Editor in Chief John Solomon, who filed an open-records request for the documents. Judge Christopher McGraugh ordered the office of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, one of the nation’s first prosecutors bankrolled by liberal megadonor George Soros, to produce every document requested by Solomon. Gardner’s office must also pay Solomon’s attorney’s fees. In July 2019, Solomon filed an initial open, public records request under Missouri’s Sunshine Law for all records of contacts between Gardner’s office and Soros, the Safety and Justice PAC, the Missouri Workforce Housing Association, and several other groups and individuals.

I am publishing my response to those inquiries because, while the committee likes to secretly and privately harass honest, law-abiding Americans, I choose to publicly embarrass their membership and bring to light the truly vulgar, deceitful, and unconstitutional process that is taking place in the seat of our nation’s government. It should shock the conscience. I hope to keep the public informed about what is happening as I am being singled out for speaking my mind and for helping others speak theirs.[…] Specifically, the committee wants to see confidential conversations I had with members of Congress who I either work with or happen to know. I am a family man, home owner, business owner, a believer in & practitioner of traditional American values, and a lover of this great Republic as envisioned & constructed by the Founders and preserved by generations of American patriots. (As an aside, I am not a lover of government nor worshipper of any elected official or political party or leader. My claim last week that medicine is “not the distinct purview of specialists or experts” no doubt raised a number of eyebrows. Aren’t we told to “trust the experts”? This mantra is recited daily on MSM, echoes through the channels of social media, and has even become a Twitter hashtag. “Trust the experts,” America Magazine wrote in October 2021, is the new “obey the priest.” And now even the Pope is telling us to #trusttheexperts. Drs. Fauci, Walensky, and Murthy are the gods of the 21st century and anyone (including individuals with similar specialized training who meet the traditional criteria for “expert”) who dares to question them is labeled an “unscientific” “anti-vaxxer” or perhaps even a “quack,” “grifter,” or “imposter.” This has become a deeply ethical issue. If you are on the side of the experts, you are not only right, intellectually, but you are a virtuous person and a good democratic citizen. If you question the experts, then you are an ignorant, selfish, uncooperative threat to democracy. You are shut down, excluded, and cancelled. Your voice no longer matters.

Svab: EXCLUSIVE: Why Are Non-COVID-19 Deaths Spiking Among Prime-Age Americans?
Americans have been dying at a significantly higher rate over the past two years, but the COVID-19 pandemic tells only part of the story. Among seniors, the pandemic could explain the increase in mortality more easily than among younger people, where there’s a gap requiring further explanation. Overall, there appear to be three distinct patterns in the data based on age. Among those aged 17 and younger, mortality has remained virtually unchanged since 2019. Among those aged 65 or older, mortality increased in 2020; dropped in the first half of 2021, coinciding with the proliferation of the COVID-19 vaccines; and increased in the third quarter of 2021, coinciding with the emergence of the Delta coronavirus variant, which appears to be more resistant to the vaccines. Among those aged 18 to 49, mortality rose dramatically in the first half of 2020, then somewhat plateaued before increasing again in the third quarter of 2021. The 50 to 64 age group appears to display a mix of the latter two patterns. The differences between age groups become more apparent when deaths involving COVID-19 are highlighted. For those younger than 18, COVID-19-related deaths barely register when visualized.

“Marxism, Anarchism, and the Black Radical Tradition,” “Witchcraft and the Cultural Imagination,” “Trans-bodies in Horror Cinema,” “The Problem of Whiteness,” and “Transnational Queer Politics and Practices” are not course titles invented by “The Babylon Bee” to mock the state of America’s universities. Rather, they are real classes I came across this year while scrolling through the course listings for the University of Chicago’s winter quarter. As a senior, I had flexibility in my schedule to take a class simply for the joy of learning, irrespective of whether it fulfilled a graduation requirement. This should have been an enjoyable experience. Instead, the process left me fearful of the close-minded young people being inculcated by my school and so many other academic institutions.

Put yourself in the position of an honest college admissions adviser. How do you choose between applicants in a way that is genuinely fair? Rich students can always rig the game with highly paid advisers who ghostwrite their personal essays. High schools often manipulate the college admissions process through grade inflation. But the SAT, the SAT subject tests, and the Advanced Placement courses were, by definition, standardized. Whatever their faults, they provided a metric that measured all test takers fairly. Having attended a high school and college where educators and administrators were implicated in Operation Varsity Blues , I can verify that the most privileged, contemptible trust-fund babies are terrified of standardized tests. These tests allow self-made students to prove their worth. And unfortunately, that is all about to change.
To avoid legal challenges for their sotto voce racial discrimination against high-performing Asian American students, the University of California system and some other schools have ceased to require SAT scores at all. The response by the College Board, which administers the SAT, has been to hasten their brand’s suicide and render its own existence irrelevant. After news broke last spring that the University of Pittsburgh is using aborted babies for taxpayer-funded medical research, often in barbaric experiments, Pitt asked an independent firm to conduct an investigation into their researchers’ compliance with state and federal laws. The findings of that investigation were released last week, but the report arguably raises more questions than it answers. Hyman, Phelps and McNamara (HPM), the D.C.-based law firm hired to conduct the “regulatory assessment,” said they found Pitt’s academic research with human fetal tissue to be “fully compliant with applicable laws.” But a close reading of the 40-page report shows that HPM intentionally limited the scope of their investigation, allowing investigators to turn a blind eye to some of the most damning allegations related to fetal tissue research.
