Husebo: Earth Day Poll: ‘Climate Change’ Last Priority for Americans
“Climate change” is the last priority for Americans and has dropped as an issue that must be dealt with immediately, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll on Friday. The poll found that “climate change” was last on the list of most important priorities for Americans. Respondents ranked the economy (76 percent), inflation (73 percent), crime (59 percent), Ukraine (58 percent), immigration (48 percent), and then “climate change” (39 percent) in respective order of importance.

CNSNews Staff: Biden: ‘My Administration Has Launched the Most Ambitious Environmental and Climate Agenda in History’
President Joe Biden issued a proclamation on Thursday that declared Friday as “Earth Day,” called on the human race to unite in an “effort to save our planet” and stated that his administration had “launched the most ambitious environmental and climate agenda in history.” “The responsibility to confront the climate crisis is not solely on the United States,” said Biden in his proclamation. “It requires leaders across the world committing to a clean energy future. “On my first day in office, I fulfilled my promise to rejoin our Nation to the Paris Agreement to tackle the climate crisis at home and abroad,” he said. “For the future of our planet, for our health, and for our children and grandchildren, we must act now,” said Biden. “Let us stand united in this effort to save our planet and, in the process, strengthen our economy and grow more connected to each other and the world we share.” Here is the full text of Biden’s Earth Day proclamation: . . .
Hayward: IT’S EARTH DAY. AGAIN. CONTAIN YOUR EXCITEMENT
Yup, it’s Earth Day today. (Also Lenin’s birthday, but I am sure it is just a coincidence.) I know you can’t contain your excitement. But try. As always, today is a good day to check in with Mark Perry’s list of 18 predictions made on the first Earth Day in 1970 that have all proven spectacularly wrong. My favorite:

Harris: Earth Day Still Focussed on Immoral Climate Crusade
Today is Earth Day, an event that has been almost entirely hijacked by the ridiculous and dangerous climate change movement. “Climate” appears a total of 10 times on the earthday.org home page and 15 time on the subpage for this year’s event. The first action item on the Greenpeace USA home page is a link to a new report, “How Social Media Companies are failing to Tackle Climate Information.” The United Nations International Mother Earth Day home page starts with the childish statements “Mother Earth is clearly urging a call to action. Nature is suffering.” as if our planet were a conscious entity, and cites “climate” no less than seven times. Pollution is referenced once. Land once. Water and air not at all. And this is the same in many places on the web. Even today’s Google search engine home page doodle take you to a page that proclaims, “Today’s annual Earth Day Doodle features real time-lapse imagery from Google Earth and other sources showing the impacts of climate change across our planet.” […] Most sensible people are environmentalists. We want clean air, land, and water and we hope that future generations will live in an even better world than we do. Yet climate change now dominates, not just Earth Day, but the entire environmental movement, sucking funding and energies away from tackling real issues such as pollution reduction and species at risk. Besides the strategic blunder of focussing on an issue the general public seems to not really care much about, there is a serious ethical problem that will come back to haunt the movement as the public becomes better informed. Documents such as the Climate Change Reconsidered series of reports from the Non-governmental International Panel on Climate Change illustrate that debate rages in the scientific community about the causes of climate change. Scientists cannot yet even agree on whether cooling or warming lies ahead, let alone how much we affect the climate. Yet global warming campaigners assert that “the science is settled.” We know for certain, they claim, that our carbon dioxide emissions will cause a planetary emergency unless we radically change our ways.

Slager: For Earth Day We Study the Environmental Promises – From Fewer Witches to Deaf Fish to Mom Turning to Prostitution
As we complete another solar lap, today is Earth Day, which means one thing: WE ARE DOOMED! Hello everyone, allow me to wish you a joyous Happy Earth Day! This means, of course — because this is an environmentalist national holiday, after all – that there is nothing at all happy or joyous about today because we need to focus solely on doom and the promise of our demise. Hey, don’t scream at me; this is the consensus of the scientific community. Welllllll — in actuality, it is really more the consensus of the media covering the scientific community — but this is serious stuff! So long as you don’t analyze their claims, that is. This is because in the mad rush to report on anything and everything that can be connected to planetary calamity, they do not exactly do the research. Beginning from the very first Earth Day in 1970, there were issues. Much of the propaganda sermonizing coming from that event concerned us freezing to death from the inevitable approaching ice age. Also, famine was due to wipe out billions by the end of the century, pollution would block the sun and citizens would need gas masks, acid rain would kill all plant life, and we’d run out of oil…uh, 30 years ago.
To be fair, we have seen some severe starvation, but that was due to Venezuelan political policy. There are some problems with the creation of this day, beyond being 180 degrees out of phase with what today’s degrees would be. Now, some may want to overstate the fact that the founder of the event, Ira Einhorn, murdered his girlfriend, but it is important to understand that he lived by example — he did compost her body.
AMERICAN HISTORY 101
Exclusive–O’Donnell: American Sovereignty: The Battles of Lexington and Concord
This week marks the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Two hundred and forty-seven years ago, farmers, tradesmen, laborers, and mariners–Americans of all stripes–came together to defend themselves against the most professional army in the world. April 19, 1775, marked the beginning of an epic journey for a band of brothers who risked EVERYTHING for a nation yet to be born. Over the course of nearly eight years, many of these Americans marched thousands of miles, often shoeless, unpaid, and starving, to fight for freedom and liberties most Americans today take for granted. Their resolute stand matters in light of multiple current events and threats to that American liberty. In the fall of 1774, King George III told Lord North, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, that “blows must decide whether they [colonists but hereafter referred to as the Americans] are to be subject to this country, or independent.” The Crown moved toward using force. For years, friction had been building in the provinces. Beginning in September 1774, . . .
NOTABLE QUOTES
Patrick O’Donnell author of American Revolutionary War books, Indispensables and Washington’s Immortals: The Years after the Revolution, Captain Levi Preston was asked why he fought in the Battle of Lexington. Was it about the Stamp Act? “I never saw one of those stamps.” Was it about the Tea Tax? “I never drank a drop of that stuff; the boys threw it all overboard.” The interviewer then asked him about several esoteric concepts which Preston dismissed. As he then responded, “Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves, and we always meant to. They didn’t mean we should.” American Sovereignty.
Stacy Lennox contributor to PJ Media: It is time for the GOP to use brutal language to describe the painful policies Democrats are inflicting on the country. Calling out the green agenda and the open borders are just two opportunities to use accurate and caustic slogans. The number of ways the Biden administration has made Americans less prosperous, less safe, and less secure in less than 18 months is astonishing. The GOP deserves to lose if they cannot beat the Democrats with the bat their own policies have created. Then, if the GOP doesn’t provide real solutions to the problems Joe Biden’s policies caused, they need to be replaced.
Meiling Lee health reporter for Epoch Times: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) did not rely on any documents for its claims that the COVID-19 vaccines do not alter or integrate into people’s genetic material, according to an advocacy group for vaccine and pharmaceutical safety and the right to informed consent.
Debra Heine contributor to American Greatness: . . . data in country after country show huge increases in COVID cases where most people are fully vaccinated, along with unacceptable levels of vaccine injuries and deaths. The shots have failed.
Rick Moran contributor to PJ Media: “Transgenderism” or “gender identity disorder” is based on an actual, rare, psychological condition known as gender dysphoria. No one is sure how many individuals are actually afflicted with the condition. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) — the Bible for psychiatry — estimates that about 0.005% to 0.014% of people assigned male at birth and 0.002% to 0.003% of people assigned female at birth are diagnosable with gender dysphoria.
Chris Queen contributor to PJ Media: At the beginning of the year, I wrote a lengthy column about how wokeism is an all-or-nothing proposition. To be woke, one has to commit to every tenet of the woke religion or else face the gracelessness of the woke clerisy. We’re starting to see the wokes cannibalize themselves, and an environmental advocacy group is the latest example. Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF), a nonprofit group that fights in court for the civil rights of natural elements like rivers and trees, is facing accusations of transphobia.
Kevin Downey Jr. contributor to PJ Media: Black men are the unwitting cannon fodder for the left, who pretend to defend them. The left pushes their “400 years of slavery” myth to keep black people angry at white people. They also propagate the delusion that cops are “hunting black men” to make sure that black men will continue to fight the cops and die. If, and when, black men stop resisting, and dying, BLM big-wigs will have to get jobs and Soros will have failed in his lifelong dream of bringing communism to the United States.

Mayor Suarez of Miami easily fits the requirement for making such a choice. Indeed, I might even vote for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez if Suarez were her Republican opponent.
Dan Gelernter contributor to American Greatness: Contrary to what feminists seem to believe, traditional women have made ample contributions to society. It turns out that managing a household is difficult and even all-consuming. It’s hard work. And I don’t see why one must demean those women who thought it was a noble undertaking to raise a happy family and make sure that the husband had a warm and welcoming home waiting for him at day’s end. Now that women increasingly have stopped doing that job, now that no one is doing it, it’s obvious just how important the work actually was.

ADI Staff: Trump Rejects Brnovich As Senate Pick, Endorsement Expected Soon
On Monday, former President Trump blasted Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, leaving Arizona Republicans wondering just which GOP Senate candidate would finally win his coveted endorsement. Trump alleged that Brnovich had received “massive information on the fraud and so-called ‘irregularities’” surrounding the 2020 election but “seems to be doing nothing about it.” […] Referring to a recent report from the Attorney General, Trump said that Brnovich “recites some of the many horrible things that happened in that very dark period of American history but, rather than go after the people that committed these election crimes, it looks like he is just going to ‘kick the can down the road’ and stay in that middle path of non-controversy.”

Swan & Lippman: Capitol Police’s new vetting practices raise ‘First Amendment concerns,’ whistleblowers’ lawyer says
An employment lawyer, who represents five people who worked in the department’s intelligence division in January of 2021, says his clients believe Capitol Police conduct veered beyond protecting members to raising First Amendment concerns. Dan Gebhardt, of Solomon Law Firm, PLLC, says his clients have long harbored grave concerns about the Capitol Police intelligence division’s practices. In a lengthy statement to POLITICO, Gebhardt laid out some of those concerns, underscoring tensions that have quietly plagued the department. Among the allegations from Gebhardt’s clients: Capitol Police intelligence analysts were directed to scrutinize a religious leader who officiated a funeral that a member of Congress attended. Analysts were also directed to “conduct research” on the relatives of members of Congress as part of their security work, according to his statement. And they didn’t like it.
CDC DOUBLING DOWN
Chi-Sing: CDC launches new service to forecast infectious diseases
The Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics (CFA) was created last summer with the goal to “advance the use of forecasting and outbreak analytics in public health decision making,” per the initial press release. The CFA’s work aims to ultimately improve the response to future outbreaks. “The new center will meet a long-standing need for a national focal point to analyze data and forecast the trajectory of pandemics with the express goal of informing and improving decisions with the best available evidence,” Marc Lipsitch, the team’s director for science, said in the press release. […] “This is an amazing opportunity for CDC and public health as we stand up the country’s first government-wide public health forecasting center,” CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky said in the statement.

Addison: COVID-19 scared patients out of hospitals, bringing on health neglect and extreme backlogs
According to the American Heart Association, during the first year of the pandemic, the overall risk for dying from heart disease rose to just over 4%, and the risk of dying from a stroke also rose over 6%. Dr. T. Douglas Lawson, the president of the board for the American Heart Association’s Houston Division, said research showed this was a direct result of neglecting health care checkups during the pandemic. “People are coming in later for screening cancers, and those cancers are more advanced. People are coming in later for control of their blood pressure. And, that’s creating more advanced heart disease that we’re now working to correct.”

2022 ELECTION
Solomon: Stacey Abrams is challenging voter citizenship checks, but her expert witness just got exposed
With another gubernatorial campaign ahead of her, liberal activist Stacey Abrams saw her latest legal effort to strike down Georgia’s “exact match” ID and citizenship checks for voters hit a major pothole when one of her group’s expert witnesses got blistered in cross-examination in federal court. Adrienne Jones, a 22-year political science professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta, was called last Friday by Abrams’ Fair Fight Action Inc. group as an expert witness in the ongoing civil trial against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and other state officials defending their voter integrity rules. Jones was immediately put on the defensive by the lawyer representing Raffensperger and the other state officials, forced to admit to penning several incendiary writings. One was a column where she called for . . . DESANTIS VS DISNEY & TWITTER
Margolis: DeSantis Announces Special Session Targeting Disney’s Special Self-Governing Status
“I am announcing today that we are expanding the call of what they are going to be considering,” DeSantis said during a press conference. “Yes, they will be considering the congressional map but they also will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968 and that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has said the state legislature has several options for dealing with the increasingly woke Disney. “Things that scare Disney,” he tweeted, followed by a list: “Municipal dissolution. Copyright expiration. Combined reporting. I’m the former Finance & Tax Chairman of the Florida House and I know of what I speak.”

Saavedra: DeSantis Signals Florida Moving To Take Action Against Twitter For Breaching ‘Fiduciary Duty’ On Musk
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signaled Tuesday that Florida will take action against Twitter’s board of directors for “breaching their fiduciary duty” by trying to stop Elon Musk’s $43 billion hostile takeover bid. DeSantis, speaking at a news conference, noted that the state’s pension system holds shares of Twitter. Musk’s offer of $54.20 per share was roughly $10 above the social media giant’s stock price at the time, which DeSantis said represented a “massive return” for shareholders. “I mean, most people and their investment vehicles are not making 20% in a year,” DeSantis said. “They rejected it because they know they can’t control Elon Musk.”
BIDEN’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL VACCINE MANDATES
Heine: The Shots Have Failed, So Let’s Amp Up Global Vaccination Rates!
African countries have done well during the pandemic without high rates of vaccination. The Biden regime won’t stand for that. The White House on Monday announced a second global COVID-19 summit to discuss how to bolster vaccination rates internationally, despite data from around the world showing the mRNA and adenovirus-vector vaccines do not stop the spread of the virus, and appear to be associated with a higher rate of non-COVID deaths. In a joint statement with Belize, Germany, Indonesia, and Senegal, the White House said the purpose of the summit, which is scheduled to be held virtually on May 12, will be to “redouble our collective efforts to end the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and prepare for future health threats.” […] This push to vaccinate low-income African countries makes little sense in the face of data that show unvaccinated African countries doing much better with COVID than heavily vaccinated countries. […] “Despite repeated warnings from WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus that the coronavirus would devastate Africa, the continent has been among the least affected by the pandemic,” the Associated Press couldn’t help but notice.

CLIMATE EMERGENCY: IT’S POLITICAL
Hellner: Journalists won’t do research or ask questions about global warming claims, so I will do their job for them
Everywhere you go, you hear about global warming. It’s a fake idea not supported by science. And the press is the biggest perpetrator of the false claims, never bothering to ask questions when presented with looney claims. They are going to wreck the country if they can’t stop repeating this phony narrative. So I will do their job for them. The following is historical scientific data that is not shown to the public by the media and government officials. The reason the public is not shown actual scientific data, instead of computer models made up predictions, is because it would demolish the fabricated theory that humans and fossil fuel consumption are causing temperatures and sea levels to rise rapidly, are destroying the planet, and are an existential threat to our survival. It is pure fraud! There have been several warming and cooling periods throughout history. The Medieval warming period, from 950 AD to 1250 AD occurred cyclically and naturally and the temperature was similar or a little warmer than today, 1000 years later. There was a little ice age that occurred between 1303 and 1860 AD where the Earth cooled cyclically and naturally. After the little ice age, the Earth . . .

Stein: Are the Environmental Impacts and Human Atrocities Worth an EV Battery?
The worldwide movement toward the electrification of everything, from more electric vehicles (EVs) to more intermittent electricity by wind turbines and solar panels, the political actions are supportive of jumping onto the green train, most likely not knowing there is a darker side to green technology, associated with environmental degradation, humanity atrocities, and other embedded costs for materials. It should concern everyone that those toxic components come from mining for the exotic minerals and metals that are required to manufacture EV batteries, wind turbines, and solar panels. This mining is occurring mostly in less-developed countries with yellow, brown, and black-skinned people with a lack of transparency about the human rights abuses and environmental degradation in those locations.

Burnett: Blackouts Occur When Green Energy Fails
Previews of what will happen when green energy fails are popping up all over the world. It’s not a pretty picture of the future. Lessons from California, Texas, Europe, and Australia show that if the “Keep it in the ground” movement succeeds in stopping the use of fossil fuels, the world is worse off. In 2021, I experienced firsthand the dangers of over reliance on wind and solar energy. Although there was plenty of blame to go around when the Texas power supply failed across much of the state during a bout of extreme cold weather that winter, the replacement of reliable coal-fueled power plants with industrial wind facilities bore the lion’s share of the blame. Driven almost entirely by politics, not market demand, wind and solar power now account for approximately 28 percent of Texas’ electric power supply. Data from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas showed that five days before the first snowflake fell, . . .[…] Likewise, Europe has suffered from massive power outages in recent years. Last year’s power failures were especially acute. As Reuters and other media outlets reported, . . .[…] I don’t like forced austerity for foolish ends. There is no more foolish end than believing we can control the climate through our energy use. It is also idiotic to believe that a modern industrial economy can be run on wind, solar, and battery power.

Caldwell: Biden Admin Claims More Red Tape Will Boost Efficiency
Regulations ‘will help projects get built faster,’ says head of environmental agency that can’t finish its own projects on time […] The White House on Tuesday restored environmental regulations on infrastructure construction that the Trump administration struck down in the name of cutting bureaucratic red tape. The Biden administration said reimposing the stringent review process will speed up the construction of infrastructure projects. The rule change will require federal agencies to assess the “direct,” “indirect,” and “cumulative” climate and environmental effects of infrastructure projects before approving the projects. Former president Donald Trump in 2020 made certain projects, such as pipelines and highways, exempt from those regulations in an effort to clear up “mountains and mountains of bureaucratic red tape in Washington, D.C.” Chairwoman Brenda Mallory of the White House’s Council on Environmental Quality, which issued the rule change, said in a statement that the restoration of red tape will actually expedite the construction of infrastructure.

Simonson: DOE Touts Work With Groups That Want To Eliminate Fossil Fuels as Gas Prices Reach All-Time Highs
In October, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm held an event called “Our Time is Now: Latinx Leaders on Climate Action,” focused on the Biden administration’s “efforts to usher in an equitable clean energy future.” Activists who attended include members from organizations called Queer Brown Vegan and Earth Uprising. Earth Uprising in April 2021 demanded “no new fossil fuel infrastructure, and existing fossil fuel extraction must be ceased, including all pipelines.” Queer Brown Vegan also calls for the elimination of all fossil fuels and endorses “zero waste” as “an ancestral BIPOC practice.”
The event was highlighted as an “outreach” effort by the agency in its new Equity Action Plan published earlier this month. The purpose of meeting with the activists, the agency wrote, was to promote the “environmental, social, and energy justice actions encapsulated in” President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” bill.

The Biden administration is preparing to scrap a Trump-era rule that allows medical workers to refuse to provide services that conflict with their religious or moral beliefs, three people familiar with the deliberations told POLITICO. A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed that the policy change is underway, saying: “HHS has made clear through the unified regulatory agenda that we are in the rulemaking process.” The move, which HHS could propose as soon as the end of this month, comes as many GOP-led states are moving to limit access to abortions and transgender care, and as progressive advocacy groups are calling on the federal government to do more to protect the rights of patients.

Jewell: Candy Or Cannabis? New Study Warns Of Edibles In ‘Copycat Packaging’
Cannabis manufacturers are using “copycat packaging” that makes marijuana edibles look like candy or other snacks and can be harmful to children. A new study published on Tuesday in the Drug and Alcohol Dependence journal warned that some marijuana edibles packaging looks nearly identical to name-brand candies such as Nerds Rope and snacks like Doritos Nacho Cheese chips, CNN reported. The biggest difference on the packaging is the letters “THC” on the bottom, which stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical in marijuana that gives people a high. Consuming THC can be harmful to children, which makes the “copycat packaging” so problematic. “Eating even a small fraction of that bag would ‘overwhelm a child,’ said Danielle Ompad, associate professor of epidemiology at NYU School of Global Public Health and senior author of a new study investigating copycat packaging in cannabis sales,” CNN wrote.

Ibrahim: Kafir: Islam’s True Views on Non-Muslims
The popular Egyptian daily newspaper and website al-Masry al-Youm (“the Egyptian Today”) recently published a fatwa titled “What Is the Ruling on Selling Food to Infidels during the Daylight [Hours] of Ramadan?” The fatwa concluded that, no, it is not permissible for Muslims to sell food, even if the purchaser and consumer is a non-Muslim. As discussed here, because the daily newspaper that published this fatwa, al-Masry al-Youm, has long been seen as a progressive, reformist newspaper — one that thrives on exposing and combatting Islamist intolerance — its readership, which includes not a few Coptic Christians, responded with an uproar. Hours later, the online version of the paper deleted the fatwa, suspended its editor, and issued an apology. Most instructive regarding this entire episode — especially for non-Muslims unfamiliar with the minutia of Islam — was the focus of the apology.
