NOTABLE QUOTES
Shawn Fleetwood contributor to The Federalist:Roberts’ overtly political actions aren’t preserving the image of the court in the eyes of the American people; they’re destroying it.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali): America needs a strong Republican Party, not a cult.
Sundance for The Last Refuge: As Leader Mitch McConnell noted at the beginning of his remarks, “we all agree, the most important thing going on in the world right now is the war in Ukraine,” and with that statement McConnell announced he and Joe Biden have agreed to advance a massive package of $40 billion to pay the salaries and retirement benefits of the Ukrainian government. Comrades, you must put aside any stress about how to afford groceries and still fill your gas tank, there are people in the government of Ukraine who need your tax dollars more.
Max Morton retired USMC: Ask yourself how Trump ended up with an entire cabinet and their lower-level executive branch political appointees who were dedicated to destroying the America First movement. Because if you don’t know how it happened, you won’t be able to stop it from happening again.
Bill Gates: I’ve tested positive for COVID. I’m experiencing mild symptoms and am following the experts’ advice by isolating until I’m healthy again. I’m fortunate to be vaccinated and boosted and have access to testing and great medical care.

Sundance: A Frequent Question About Trump Hires Working Against the America First Agenda
When Donald Trump won the 2016 election, even before he took office, CTH warned about the permanent bureaucratic class in Washington DC and what it meant for an outside to enter this system. With a consistent question being raised, it is well worth the reminder – because the answer has nothing to do with Donald Trump. […] The short answer is, it’s not that complicated. There is one permanent bureaucratic class in/around DC (two wings, same bird). The pool of appointees comes from this UniParty system. Donald Trump as an outsider faced animosity from the system itself. There are no MAGA bureaucrats. That said, the more fulsome answer is . . . […] It doesn’t matter who the next presidential candidate is. If that President wants to advance a policy agenda in favor of the American people, they will face the same problem. So let me give one perspective on how to tackle the issue.

ONE SENATOR’S PLAN TO SAVE AMERICA
Sen. Rick Scott’s plan to ‘Rescue America’ includes saying the Pledge of Allegiance, finishing border wall
Scott says the 11-point plan is not for the “faint of heart” and will “strike fear” in the heart of some Republicans. Th e militant left now controls the entire federal government, the news media, academia, Hollywood, and most corporate boardrooms – but they want more. Th ey are redefi ning America and silencing their opponents. Among the things they plan to change or destroy are: American history, patriotism, border security, the nuclear family, gender, traditional morality, capitalism, fiscal responsibility, opportunity, rugged individualism, Judeo-Christian values, dissent, free speech, color blindness,
law enforcement, religious liberty, parental involvement in public schools, and private ownership of fi rearms. Is this the beginning of the end of America? Only if we allow it to be.

2022 ELECTION
Davidson: Alaska’s Special Election Is A Template For How The Left Wants To Rig The Vote
Next month, Alaskans will vote in a special primary election for the state’s single congressional seat, left vacant by the death of Republican Rep. Don Young in March. Young, the longest-serving Republican in the history of the U.S. House, was Alaska’s sole congressman for 49 years, so the election to replace him is in some ways an historic event for the state. But it’s also historic in another way: it will be Alaska’s first ever statewide mail-in primary election. That is, there will be no in-person voting at all. Every single voter on the state’s bloated and error-riddled voter rolls was automatically mailed a blank ballot. What’s more, there will be no verification requirements for these mail-in ballots. Voters will simply need to fill out their ballot and have a witness observe them sign the envelope. The state’s Division of Election has explicitly said it will not verify the authenticity of the signatures on the ballots.
Hubbard: West Virginia’s Rep. Alex Mooney wins GOP primary with Trump endorsement
Mooney had the backing of former President Donald Trump, while McKinley supported the $1 trillion infrastructure package and voted to create the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. […] Trump-endorsed West Virginia incumbent Rep. Carol Miller beat four GOP primary challengers and will go on to face Democrat Lacy Watson this fall to earn her third term in the House.
Kreig, Zeleny & Mercia: 4 takeaways from the Nebraska and West Virginia primaries
And though his hold on the Republican Party remains strong, the results in Nebraska show it is not complete — especially when he endorses a candidate like wealthy businessman Charles Herbster, who is facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct (all of which he has denied). The clear winner in Nebraska, though, was the state’s Republican establishment. University of Nebraska Board of Regents member Jim Pillen, CNN’s projected winner in the primary, was endorsed by term-limited Gov. Pete Ricketts, and incumbent GOP Rep. Don Bacon, who had taken some flak from Trump, also won renomination. Former Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, a Republican who resigned earlier this year after being convicted of a federal crime but remained on the ballot, was blown out by a Ricketts-backed candidate. Here are four takeaways from Tuesday night’s primaries — and a look ahead to more stress tests for Trump in the coming week.

Otterman & Montellard: Pennsylvania GOP panics over possible Mastriano nomination
Top Republicans are mounting a last-ditch, behind-the-scenes effort to stop state Sen. Doug Mastriano, a leading voice in the movement to overturn the 2020 election results, from winning the party nomination for governor in Pennsylvania. With only days to go before the May 17 primary, GOP gubernatorial campaigns and leading state and county officials have been in discussions about uniting behind a single candidate to avoid a scenario in which Mastriano wins the crowded race by taking advantage of a splintered vote. If that doesn’t work, another option is persuading the candidates in single-digits in the polls to drop out.

Curl: Bill Gates: COVID ‘Disease Of Elderly,’ ‘Low Fatality Rate’ – ‘Kind Of Like The Flu’
Bill Gates isn’t an immunologist and he doesn’t even play one on TV. But the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft has immersed himself in the study of the world’s problems and donated billions of dollars to tackle the scourge of malaria in Africa through his philanthropic foundation. So when he speaks, people listen, which makes what he said last week about COVID-19 interesting. “It wasn’t until early February, when I was in a meeting, that experts of the foundation, said ‘there’s no way’” that COVID-19 could have been contained, he said.
BIDEN’S DOD
Mittlestadt: Questions arise over DARPA allegedly investigating origin of 2016 DNC hack
Georgia Tech “may have been involved in determining who hacked the DNC server” at the direction of DARPA, Sen. Ron Johnson said. “Why would DARPA be involved in that?” Following media reports on Special Counsel John Durham investigating whether the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) looked into the origin of the alleged 2016 hack of the Democratic National Committee, questions have been raised by senators about the Pentagon agency’s denial. In March, The Federalist reported that Georgia Tech researcher Manos Antonakakis, who works with DOD’s DARPA, was part of Durham’s investigation into the investigation of the DNC hack. Antonakakis wrote in a July 2021 email obtained through a Right-To-Know request, “During one of my interviews with the Special Counsel prosecutor, I was asked point blank by Mr. DeFilippis, ‘Do you believe that DARPA should be instructing you to investigate the origins of a hacker (Guccifer_2.0) that hacked a political entity (DNC)?’ “Let that sync for a moment, folks. Someone hacked a political party (DNC, in this case), in the middle of an election year (2016), and the lead investigator of DOJ’s special council [sic] would question whether U.S. researchers working for DARPA should conduct investigations in this matter is ‘acceptable’! While I was tempted to say back to him, ‘What if this hacker hacked GOP? Would you want me to investigate him then?’, I kept my cool and told him this is a question for DARPA’s director, and not for me to answer.”

Sundance: Joe Biden Rails Against Inflation He Created
Even with dementia I doubt seriously Joe Biden believes the nonsense he read from his prepared script today. Every economy policy the Biden administration has triggered, specifically including the Green New Deal energy policy, has caused massive inflation. […] During a ridiculously obtuse speech today [Full Speech Here], part of which is in the excerpt below, Biden claims there are only two sources of inflation: (1) the pandemic (covid-19); and (2) Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I often accuse democrats of pretending not to know things, however these false attributions are far beyond pretense, they are purposeful lies.

Malloch: Future Misery and Joe Biden
No, I am not talking about listening to heavy metal—this is the other misery index. Economist Arthur Okun years ago famously created what he called the economic misery index to calculate how bad things are for everyday Americans. It is calculated by adding together the inflation rate and the unemployment rate as measured by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number when combined generally characterizes the current economic condition—the state of the economy. On it fortunes rise and fall, people thrive or fail, and yes, politicians are elected or rejected. Empirically, a high unemployment rate and a high inflation rate have a negative impact on economic growth. […] Well, you may ask, how bad can things really get as we look into the crystal ball of our coming future? What could things look like in 2024, in the last years of the Biden Administration? Would there be more or less misery orso much misery people would do anything just to be free of the senile nincompoop?

Tucker: Karine Jean-Pierre is furious at America, despite her ample privilege
Tucker analyzes the new incoming White House press secretary’s past statements. […] And in many ways, Karine Jean-Pierre is perfect for the job. Not only is she a member of the out LGBTQ+ community, she’s also critically the product of a private school and an Ivy League college and yet still oppressed somehow. She is furious at America, despite her ample privilege, and enraged by its racist systems of oppression, and she’s happy to tell you about it. Here she is.

Dunn: House votes to allow congressional staffers to unionize
The House of Representatives voted Tuesday to recognize House staff members’ right to unionize after announcing an increase to their minimum pay. The vote was straight down party lines, with 217 Democrats voting for the measure and 202 Republicans voting against it. “Congressional staffers deserve the same fundamental rights and protections as workers all across the country, including the right to bargain collectively,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement on Friday.

THE DEMOCRAT LED WAR ON CHILDREN
Fox: Beleaguered Parents Get Some Help From U.S. Senator on How to Keep Kids Safe Online
If you’re worried about what your kids are doing online, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has put together some helpful tips for anxious parents traversing the dangerous years with kids old enough to surf the web. We’ve seen countless stories of young people pulled into dark rabbit holes that lead to very serious consequences ranging from sex trafficking to medical procedures that alter them forever. Blackburn has been sounding the alarm about Big Tech for a long time. “Companies use advanced data collecting techniques to gather and analyze the habits movements and interests to build out a virtual you that only exists to cater to advertisers,” she said in 2021. “The impact this has on children can be even more detrimental by taking advantage of the always on mentality children are constantly being tracked and analyzed.” […] Blackburn’s office has released a helpful guide for those of you who need to set better boundaries with your kids. Blackburn says she’s worked closely with industry professionals to alert parents to solid steps they can take to make their kids safer this summer. The first tip is to . . .

Salzmann: Pro-Choice Activists Target Home of Pro-Choice Republican
Activists scrawled a pro-abortion message in front of Republican senator Susan Collins’s home in Bangor, Maine, even though Collins supports Roe v. Wade and abortion rights. While Bangor police said the message, which read “Susie, please, Mainers want WHPA —> vote yes, clean up your mess,” was “not overtly threatening,” it indicates that activists will target even pro-choice Republicans after a leaked ruling revealed the Supreme Court may overturn Roe v. Wade.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and LADWP on Tuesday announced new water restrictions amid a worsening drought. Democrat Garcetti is imposing new water restrictions on 4 million residents since Californians didn’t voluntarily cut water use. […] Violators will be heavily fined.
