President Trump gave a phone interview with Fox News on Sunday night, where he says he personally requested the 10,000 troops. Trump said that his team alerted the Secretary of Defense and warned that the crowd could be much larger than expected, and that the 10,000 troops should be deployed. He alleges that the request was rejected due to bad optics.

Chip Roy and Mike Gallagher are calling out their Republican colleagues for using proxy voting rules in order to get out of voting while being in Orlando, Florida, for the Conservative Political Action Conference, standing in contrast to the predominant GOP stance against proxy voting. “Democrats in particular are destroying the institution by doing this — we don’t meet, we don’t debate, we don’t amend. But even a number of my GOP colleagues are now complicit and have given in to the Democrats recklessness,” Roy, a Texas Republican, said in a statement on Monday, adding that it is an “unconstitutional attack on a functional Congress” and allows “members to avoid their responsibility to meet in D.C. to do their jobs.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrats implemented vote-by-proxy rules last year in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which prompted heavy criticism from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other powerful Republicans. Mistreanu: Study Links Nike, Adidas And Apple To Forced Uighur Labor
Nike, Adidas, Apple, Microsoft and Samsung are among 83 multinationals that have been linked to forced labor by Uighurs in factories across China, according to a new study by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI). According to the researchers, Uighurs, a persecuted ethnic minority from China’s western Xinjiang region, have been funneled to work in factories in other provinces under conditions “that strongly suggest forced labour.” The report estimates that more than 80,000 Uighurs were transferred to work in factories across China between 2017 and 2019. The period coincides with China’s campaign of mass internment of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, which the government says is needed to root out terrorism and separatism.

Bleau: Democrat-Led House Passes H.R.1, Aimed to Federalize U.S. Elections
The Democrat-led House passed the legislation on party lines, 220 to 210. A summary of the bill notes that it “expands voter registration (e.g., automatic and same-day registration) and voting access (e.g., vote-by-mail and early voting)” and imposes limits on removing voters from voter rolls. Republicans have warned that the Democrat legislation would vastly reduce the power of the states to control and operate elections at the local level. “If this bill passes, it puts in all these terrible provisions,” Hans von Spakovsky, manager of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative and a senior legal fellow of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, said during a January appearance on Breitbart News Daily. “It’s a federal micromanagement of the election process, and everything that folks on the left want to reduce the integrity [and] the security of the election process is in there,” he continued.

The other day I was sent an Instagram video of a little boy having story time on his mother’s lap. The little boy was precious, the time spent on his mother’s lap special, but the choice of reading material was… “woke.” The selected story was The GayBCs by M. L. Web. “A is for Ally,” repeated the little boy, “B is for Bi, C is for Coming Out, D is for Drag.” His mother praises him after he finishes the book, asking, “Are you a ‘woke’ toddler?” Parroting her words, the little tot proudly proclaims, “I’m ‘woke.’” Such “woke” reading selections are par for the course as educators, politicians, and society at large seek to lead children through our world’s challenges. The recent release of Renaissance Learning’s “What Kids are Reading” report underscores that educators and authors are now seeking to teach young children about “social equity issues, climate change,” and other political trends. As such, the report promotes “woke” titles like Black Brother, Black Brother, which deals with inequitable treatment people with different skin colors, and other books dealing with charged political issues such as immigration and gender identity, including Come On In: 15 Stories About Immigration and Finding Home and Trans Mission: My Quest to a Beard.
Judging by these examples, it seems the “woke” steamroller is actively coming for the next generation. […] Aldous Huxley offers some insight in his 1958 title Brave New World Revisited: . . . Chalk: Will They Come for the Homeschoolers?
Perhaps I was wrong. Just a few weeks ago, right after the presidential inauguration, one of my wife’s close friends, another parent in our homeschooling co-op, expressed her fear that homeschooling is likely to come under greater scrutiny with the new administration. I shook my head in dissent. Sure, I acknowledged, there are some, particularly on the Left, who are suspicious and critical of homeschooling. But ours is a strong movement with political clout, I assured her, with millions of American kids currently being taught at home. It would be foolish, and unnecessarily provocative, to target homeschoolers right now. Then, earlier this month lawyer and prominent author Jill Filipovic—whose articles have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Guardian, among others—launched a polemical frontal assault on what she terms “pro-life, pro-family homeschooling advocates.”

As millions of relief dollars designated to assist school reopenings are still sitting untouched nearly a year after Congress passed stimulus legislation, congressional Democrats are seeking to provide $7.6 billion over the next 10 years toward a program that prioritizes the interests of teachers unions and the districts that bow to them over getting students back into classrooms now. Beginning on page 210 of the massive COVID spending bill, Democrats included a provision to grant more funding for a scandal-filled, already bureaucratically resourced program called E-Rate. In its current state, E-Rate gives schools a discount on telecommunication services to better serve their classrooms. The latest legislation, however, expands E-Rate to provide funding and resources to schools incentivizing virtual learning as a majority of students around the nation approach nearly a year of no or limited in-person learning.

The critical race theorists are feeling the heat. Over the past decade, they have had remarkable success in perpetuating the concepts of systemic racism, unconscious bias, white privilege, and white fragility in American institutions, beginning with universities and moving on to schools, government agencies, and multinational corporations. Their campaign began mostly without opposition, as most conservatives were either ignorant of what was happening or dismissed it as a campus fad. That changed last year. The intellectual movements around the so-called Intellectual Dark Web, Quillette magazine, and the 1776 Unites coalition of dissident black scholars had laid down a theoretical case against critical race theory (CRT). President Trump elevated the debate into the mainstream, denouncing CRT by name at the National Archives, signing an executive order banning CRT-based training programs from the federal government, and sparring on the topic during a televised presidential debate. Since then, investigative journalists, including me, have reported on the negative impact of CRT in government, schools, and corporations; states such as New Hampshire, Arkansas, Iowa, West Virginia, and Oklahoma have introduced legislation seeking to ban CRT programs that promote the concepts of race essentialism, collective guilt, and race-based harassment in public institutions. This shift in momentum against the new racial orthodoxy, which has now grown beyond America’s borders to England, France, Italy, Hungary, and Brazil, has rattled the American Left. Alter: 108 illegal immigrants test positive for coronavirus after being released by border patrol
Many of the migrants have said that they intend to travel to states such as Maryland and New Jersey, however. An employee working at the bus terminal has said that they cannot force migrants to show the results of their coronavirus tests before boarding the busses. Migrants who tested positive for the virus indicated that they were not given any documentation of their positive tests, and were simply told by officials to wait in separate lines at the bus terminal.

Thirty-four cases of pregnant women experiencing spontaneous miscarriages or stillbirths after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine have been submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). […] Reports made to VAERS do not necessarily mean that a vaccine may have caused the event or reaction. Miscarriages are labeled as spontaneous abortions or abortions in the reporting system. […] “As an obstetrician-gynecologist, it is a concern,” Cole told The Epoch Times. “We’re [now] throwing science and the scientific medicine method out the window and jeopardizing pregnancies and future pregnancies.”

[…] You know what does help and has not been proven any weaker against any variant – yet the government will not promote it? Cheap drugs and natural supplements – from hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin to doxycycline, vitamin D, zinc, quercetin and even aspirin and melatonin. Many of these treatments naturally boost the immune system and/or prevent viral RNA from replicating itself. They work for all sorts of RNA viruses, not just COVID, so the variants will not change this equation.

While a senator may insist a bill be read on the chamber floor, the formality is usually skipped through unanimous consent, according to The Hill. The time it takes for the bill to be read will be in addition to the 20 hours of debate time scheduled for the proposal. “I’m told it’s going to be more like 10 [hours]. It’s going to occur at the beginning so it would be before the clocks starts so it doesn’t go against the 20 hours, it’s on top of the 20,” Senate Republican Whip John Thune of South Dakota, said, according to the outlet.
