An additional $100,000 was given by an undisclosed donor to support the portraits, she said. The funds, which total $750,000, will go to the artists, events and other fees associated with the two Trump portraits. The federal judge considering the push to unseal the affidavit that bolstered the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago issued an order Monday rejecting the government’s push to keep the entire document under wraps and revealed his inclination to make public at least some of the information. Federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart in his new order rejects the government’s argument that ‘the present record justifies keeping the entire Affidavit under seal.’ The judge instead calls for ‘narrowly tailoring’ what is made public and searching for the ‘least onerous alternatives’ – a posture that could make new information on the government’s investigation public within days.

But he is also married to House Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms (SAA) Kim E. Campbell, the second most senior official in the SAA, which like the U.S. Capitol Police is being probed by the committee for security failures in connection to the Capitol riot. The relationship could pose “a huge conflict of interest” if Young’s work involves reviewing the performance of the SAA or Capitol Police, according to Tom Jones, executive director of the watchdog American Accountability Foundation. “Young needs to come clean about what he is doing for the J6 Committee,” Jones told the DCNF. “There is no way a husband can give an independent and objective assessment of his wife’s performance.”

We also know TikTok’s data has been accessed in China, despite the company’s claims. Finally, we know TikTok is currently the most popular social network in America. Last week, TikTok boasted in a press release about the creation of its new Elections Center. The center will influence American elections on two fronts: . . . According to the poll, 54 percent of Americans, including 40 percent of Democrats, say it is “completely true” or “somewhat true” that the border crisis is an “invasion.” Nearly three-quarters, 73 percent, of respondents said they believe the “large number of migrants apprehended at the southern border is a problem.”

Will Congress hold him accountable? Probably not. But for a few exceptions, they’re too complicit in the economic and societal destruction of the last few years to do anything serious. The vast majority have a track record of lockdown authoritarianism and mRNA fanaticism.

Fauci will probably get away with all of it. However, his legacy can serve as an important lesson to the general public: never, ever give so much power to one megalomaniacal mad man, especially one who works in the federal government. Like most problems with government, liberty is the solution.

At the website of America’s largest gay-activist organization you can read the following statement of purpose: “The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where every member of the LGBTQ+ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear, and with equality under the law.” Yes, “the LGBTQ+ family.” Years ago, gay magazines and organizations routinely conveyed the message that, as a gay man, I was part of something called “the gay community.” Then, at some point when I wasn’t looking, apparently I was adopted into something called “the LGBTQ+ family.” Meaning that in the view of the formerly gay and now LGBTQ+ establishment—the leaders of groups like the HRC and GLAAD, editors of magazines like Advocate and Out, and assorted authors and activists and academics, all of them on the far Left—gay men like me aren’t just chained at the hip to lesbians and bisexuals; we’re also intimately lassoed to “queers” (which can mean anything), to individuals who identify themselves with some newfangled label like “nonbinary” or “genderqueer,” and, yes, to transgender people. This, even though homosexuality and transgenderism are two utterly different phenomena. Humankind has been familiar with homosexuality since the dawn of history. Transgenderism, in the rare cases in which it’s genuine and not imagined, is also founded in something real—namely, gender dysphoria, a psychiatric affliction that makes men think they’re women and makes women think they’re men. Key word: think.

Charles Dickens Imene Oliha, 46, is a career diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On Sunday, he was arrested after a neighbor in his apartment building in Washington Heights called police claiming he had raped her inside their apartment building. According to a police report, Oliha and the woman were in the elevator together in the building when he announced he was coming upstairs. She replied ‘no you’re not’, but claims he followed her into her apartment where he allegedly raped her twice – once with a condom, and once without. Oliha was arrested and questioned by police but once detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit learned of his immunity, he was released without charge.

Officials have been unable to identify the cause of a canine parvovirus-like outbreak killing Michigan dogs within days — but it bears resemblance to cases seen in Mexico. Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine associate professor Elisa Mazzaferro told The Detroit News on Monday that the virus reminded her of cases treated by a Mexico City emergency clinician. Otsego County animal shelter director Melissa FitzGerald advised pet owners to head to a veterinarian immediately if their dog experiences parvovirus-like symptoms: loss of appetite, lethargy, bloody stool, vomiting, and diarrhea.

In January, researchers at Radboud University in the Netherlands published startling results in the journal Nature Scientific Reports from an experiment where they showed pictures of faces to two volunteers inside a powerful brain-reading fMRI scanner. As the volunteers looked at the images, the fMRI scanned the activity of neurons in the areas of their brain responsible for vision. The researchers then fed this information into a computer’s artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm. As you can see from the extreme likeness between the original faces and the portraits, the results are so astonishingly similar as to appear uncanny.

AP: China Plans Cloud Seeding to Protect Grain Crop from Drought

The coming 10 days are a “key period of damage resistance” for southern China’s rice crop, said Agriculture Minister Tang Renjian, according to the newspaper Global Times. Authorities will take emergency steps to “ensure the autumn grain harvest,” which is 75% of China’s annual total, Tang said Friday, according to the report. Authorities will “try to increase rain” by seeding clouds with chemicals and spraying crops with a “water retaining agent” to limit evaporation, Tang’s ministry said on its website. It gave no details of where that would be done.
