NOTABLE QUOTES

Joe Allen contributor to The Federalist addresses Big Tech’s goal to replace God with machines: Transhumanists have hyped the new religion of high technology for decades now. The basic idea, fairly prevalent in Silicon Valley, is that rapid advances in scientific knowledge and tech innovation will culminate in our de facto omniscience and omnipotence. Even though humanity is lost in a godless cosmos, digital devices will allow us to transcend our ape-like forms.

David Horowitz former Marxist revolutionary and member of Bill Ayers’ domestic terrorist organization the Weather Underground: I wrote The Enemy Within because I knew that if America stood a chance, Americans had to understand exactly how sinister and dangerous this anti-American movement actually is. I wrote The Enemy Within because I was the enemy within — and I know in my bones what it will take to defeat them. I wrote The Enemy Within because we’ve reached the point in our history where we either win these political battles or lose everything that makes us prosperous and free.

Dennis Prager American conservative talk show host and author: Had you told me a year ago that nearly every American in nearly every metropolitan area would cover their faces for over a year because one man, one political party and the media told them to, I would have responded that you underestimate the strength of the American character.

Catherine Smith contributor to American Greatness: The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched a $500,000 “Mask Innovation Challenge” to improve the design of face masks.

Alison Nichols contributor to American Thinker: Why are those of us who have had our COVID Vaccines still wearing masks? We are protected from the virus and cannot carry the virus despite being admonished otherwise. Is it because Maoism is still shaping our world? While the West mistakenly believed that China would become more like us after embracing Capitalism, the West is becoming more like China; Maoism and Chinese Communism are spreading like a prairie fire.

Margaret Harris W.H.O. spokeswoman: We as W.H.O. are saying at this stage we would not like to see the vaccination passport as a requirement for entry or exit because we are not certain at this stage that the vaccine prevents transmission,” W.H.O. spokeswoman told a news conference in Geneva, Reuters reports.

Thomas Buckley contributor to American Thinker: By worshiping at the altar of the safe we denigrate, delay, and deny the myriad possibilities for human advancement that are inherent in the concept of risk.

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Senate Minority Leader when asked if he still has confidence in Dr. Fauci and his handling of the COVID pandemic: I think he’s the principal person we’ve relied on for the last couple of years. That’s become somewhat controversial, I gather, but we have to take advice from somebody, and for myself, looking at his history and background, he’s the most reliable witness I’ve seen.

J.B. Shurk contributor to American Thinker: As Coca-Cola’s training materials suggest, racism is just part of whites’ DNA. Perhaps the company could have saved future employees a lot of trouble by simply hanging a sign on its front door reading, “No Uppity Whites Allowed.”

Charles Barkley former NBA star: Man, I think most white people and black people are great people. I really believe that in my heart. But I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other, so they can keep their grasp of money and power.

Willie Shields contributor to American Thinker: After a career of being closely associated with the air traffic control system, I can confidently opine that female pilots should be near the bottom on anyone’s list of safety concerns. Closer to the top of that list? Affirmative action.

Wendell Husebo contributor to Breitbart points out the hypocrisy of companies opposing Georgia’s voter ID law: Like the State of Georgia’s voter ID requirement, PayPal, MLB, United Airlines, and Uber also require identification to use their services. PayPal, for example, requires an ID to confirm their customers’ identity, and United Airlines demands an ID to book a flight. Uber also conducts an ID check before individuals may participate in their ride-sharing platform, while the MLB asks for ID at will call ticket windows.

Nikki Schwab Daily Mail reporter: Sen. Marco Rubio wrote a letter Monday to MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred telling him he should give up his Augusta golf club membership since he also decided to pull the All-Star Game from Atlanta.

Daniel Greenfield contributor to Frontpage Magazine: It’s funny how a majority of Americans, and of Latinos, support a voter security bill that the media has been howling is not only racist, but so racist that corporations and leagues must immediately boycott Georgia.

Sundance Keep Up The Delta Airlines Boycott – Delta Cancels Over 100 Flights on Sunday, But Cites “Staff Shortages”
Last week President Donald Trump asked for a full and unrelenting boycott of several corporations who are operating as political activists to advance an agenda on behalf of the far-left. The corporations spoke against election integrity and are opposed to secure election reforms. […] Delta is claiming “staff shortages” suddenly appeared in multiple states, simultaneously; that had never happened before, immediately after the boycott began. This story reeks of Delta cancelling the flights because of the boycott, but they don’t want to admit the reason for the cancellation so they make up an artificial justification. You decide what is likely. A coincidental cancellation across multiple states, affecting multipl flights, in multiple locations… or the boycott is working?

Bedford: It’s High Time We Make Woke Corporate America Feel Real Pain: Here’s How We Can Start
Companies must be held accountable. When they carelessly and callously wield their power to strike out at the American people, they must be made to feel pain. Not simply nagging second thoughts or embarrassment, but real pain: pain in their wallets, in their boardrooms, and in the offices of their general counsels. It’s a tactic the American left long ago mastered. Boycotts and sponsorship threats have been a hallmark of their activism, but with rare exceptions, conservatives have failed to catch on. If a company bucks them, the left won’t hesitate to use the power of government, from regulation to the Internal Revenue Service to the Environmental Protection Agency, to frighten them into subservience. “Government is a gun!” the modern American right’s libertarian streak tells us. “Don’t aim it at your opponents,” the warning goes, “or it will soon be used on you.” Makes sense in theory, but of course nearly every chance the left gets it turns the power of government on the rest of us and pulls the trigger.

Piper: Federal judge flays Wayne State for bias against Christian student club
Public university officials violated the constitutional rights of a Christian student group and will now face a trial to set the compensatory damages for that violation, a court ruled this week. InterVarsity Christian Fellowship had operated continuously at Michigan’s Wayne State University “since the 1930s” — until campus officials stripped its recognition in 2017 for “requiring that its faith leaders profess to be faithful,” U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland wrote in a scathing 83-page ruling. “The uncontested facts demonstrate” that the taxpayer-funded institution and two officials violated the Constitution’s Establishment Clause and the club’s rights to “internal management, free speech, freedom of association, freedom of assembly, and free exercise as a matter of law.”

Among them were schools named for presidents Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and longtime Sen. Dianne Feinstein. The board now said it was reversing the vote to avoid ‘frivolous litigation’ after being sued for violating the state’s open meeting law with its initial decision
It initially voted to rename the schools back in January. Critics slammed the decision as cancel culture gone too far and others pointed out significant flaws in the board’s research

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Schow: The FBI Is Now Mainly A Weapon Against Republicans
What is the FBI’s main purpose now? Because outside of some great investigative work that gets little national attention, the bureau increasingly seems to be used as a federal weapon aimed primarily at Republicans, generally protecting Democrats while leaking any detail of ongoing investigations that could damage the GOP. The latest example relates to an FBI investigation into a political ally of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), during which allegations were made against Gaetz accusing him of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl, whom he allegedly paid to travel with him. The New York Times reported on the investigation, quoting three, anonymous “people briefed” on the investigation. Gaetz has denied the allegations. Maybe there’s something there and maybe there isn’t, but no matter the outcome, the way the investigation was reported appeared, at least in part, politically motivated.

Birzer: What Remains of Conservatism?
What remains of traditional conservatism, one might legitimately ask? After all, we have just experienced twelve extraordinary months—extraordinary by any measure—and we’re still in shock. We’re also not out of danger yet, of course, as many of the things that threatened civilization so directly in 2020 remain, even if not as blatantly as they once did. In politics, we witnessed a nearly overwhelming wave of populism—always with its authoritarian and cult of personality leanings—on the left and on the right. In the wider culture, we saw reckless bravado, the tearing down of sacred (and, often, quite innocent) monuments, and the torching of tradition. Unrest would be too tepid a word to describe the massive protest movements throughout the nation, and violence seemed to permeate the urban centers of the country (and still does in parts). In our communities, we viewed the arrival of a soft despotism—democratic, to be sure, but despotism nonetheless—enforced at every level of American society. Thanks to a virus—whether created by God or by man remains to be seen—governments, corporations, businesses, and schools reached into the minutiae of our lives in ways that had once been acceptable only during war, weaving an intricate web of control over us all. As just noted, many of these horrors remain, . . .

THE CORRUPT & DANGEROUS DEMOCRAT PARTY MEDIA INDUSTRIL COMPLEX

Jashinsky: Legacy Media Corruption Is At The Heart Of Our National Conflict
The media’s false reporting about new election legislation in Georgia whipped up a controversy that left millions of people grossly misinformed, frightened voters, mired major corporations in high-stakes public relations frenzies, distracted the political discourse, and furthered the country’s divisions. In short, it’s a perfect example of how the media is fueling our national conflict. In this case, the media uncritically regurgitated Georgia Democrats’ partisan hyperbole, treating a narrative the party strategically crafted to defeat the legislation as fact and turning it into a long and false national news cycle. That news cycle left the public with an impression that the legislation was objectively racist. That impression scared and motivated the public, leading employees to pressure executives into action. Worse, the false coverage led millions of people to believe that a major political party representing half the country was seeking to reinstate Jim Crow.

U.S. SUPREME COURT

AP: Justice Breyer says big Supreme Court changes could diminish trust
Justice Stephen Breyer on Tuesday said liberal advocates of big changes at the Supreme Court, including expanding the number of justices, should think “long and hard” about what they’re proposing. Politically driven change could diminish the trust Americans place in the court, Breyer said in the prepared text of a long speech he gave remotely Tuesday to Harvard Law School students, faculty and alumni. […] Breyer, a Harvard law alumnus who also taught at the school, is the court’s oldest justice at 82. President Joe Biden’s election and Democrats’ paper-thin Senate majority have prompted talk that Breyer, appointed by Democratic President Bill Clinton in 1994, could soon retire, perhaps as early as the summer.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME: TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Kredo: Iran Claims Victory Over United States as New Nuke Talks Begin
Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said Tuesday that his country’s leaders will not sit down for talks with the Americans, including U.S.-Iran envoy Robert Malley. American diplomats, however, expect indirect communications through intermediaries. Rabiei said the negotiations, which will occur in Vienna, represent a victory over the United States and the former Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran, which included some of the most wide-ranging economic sanctions in history. The Iran spokesman predicted the Biden administration will have no choice but to lift these sanctions in the near future. Iran’s posturing is accompanied by increased nuclear work, moves likely meant to further pressure the Biden administration into granting concessions during the talks in Vienna. Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said Tuesday that it is ready to unveil “133 new nuclear achievements,” including “quantum, enrichment, heavy water, radiopharmaceuticals, [and] lasers,” according to state-controlled press. The country is also pressing forward with the installation of IR-9 centrifuges, an advanced type of nuclear enrichment device that more quickly and efficiently turns uranium into fuel for a nuclear weapon.

NR Editors: Iran Has a Reason to Be Happy with Biden
With indirect talks under way in Vienna, it’s clear that concessions to the terrorist regime are coming. […] It’s no surprise that the regime is so giddy. The mere existence of these discussions has demonstrated the Biden administration’s interest in diplomatic theater to obscure its movement toward Tehran’s negotiating position.

Chang: Biden Is Determined to Create Jobs… in China
For three principal reasons, his [Biden’s] jobs plan will create full employment in China. First, Biden will create substantially more demand for Chinese materials to go into America’s planned physical infrastructure improvements. Second, the large corporate tax increases he proposes will drive even more businesses out of the U.S. — and across the Pacific. Third, Biden’s “green energy” ideas will eliminate one of the crucial advantages American manufacturers now have: cheap energy. “Unless we invest in the capacity to make the steel, cement, and the other materials that go into our roads, bridges, and other infrastructure, we will always be at the mercy of China’s Communist Party” — Jonathan Bass, CEO of Whom Home and onshoring advocate, in an interview with Gatestone Institute, April 2021.
