Remember, this is a Lawfare operation, which is constructed for one primary purpose, influencing the public. […] Despite the grand pontifications and breathless pearl-clutching by the CNN narrative engineers, the audio will NEVER be used at trial – if there is even a trial – which is highly unlikely, because it cannot be admitted into evidence. Proposed environmental regulations in New York City could end the use of wood- and coal-fired ovens in many of the city’s historic pizza restaurants. “All New Yorkers deserve to breathe healthy air and wood and coal-fired stoves are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality,” Ted Timbers, spokesman for the city’s Department of Environmental Protection, said on Sunday. “This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible.” The rule, if implemented, could force pizza owners who use coal- or wood-fired ovens installed before May 2016 to purchase expensive devices that control emissions. The mandate would require restaurants to cut pizza oven emissions by 75 percent, the New York Post reported.

These attacks are coming from some of the most corrupt and unethical figures and organizations in the country like ProPublica, created by the Sandler family whose greedy actions helped cause the previous recession led them to being profiled on Saturday Night Live as people who should be shot, not to mention a former Enron executive and FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried. Howe: Entering the final week, with 10 cases left to decide

As the justices enter the final week of June (and, presumably, the final week before they begin their summer recess), they have 10 cases remaining — almost all of which are among the biggest cases of the term, presenting issues such as the role of race in college admissions, the legality of the Biden administration’s student-loan forgiveness program, and the extent to which employers must accommodate the religious practices of their employees. The justices are scheduled to issue opinions on Tuesday. The court has not yet announced what other days this week it will issue opinions, but we know that Tuesday is not the last opinion day before the summer recess. Here are brief summaries of all 10 as-yet-undecided cases, along with (when possible) discussion about who may be writing which opinions: 1. Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina (argued Oct. 31, 2022): Students for Fair Admissions, the group bringing the lawsuit, contends that UNC violates the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause, which bars racial discrimination by government entities, by considering race in its admissions process when it does not need to do so to achieve a diverse student body. It is not yet possible to predict precisely which justice may be writing the opinion, but three justices – Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito and Brett Kavanaugh – have not yet written opinions for the court’s November argument session, so they are the likely pool of authors for the UNC and Harvard cases. Moreover, Kavanaugh has already written seven opinions, while Roberts and Alito have only written three each, so Roberts and Alito are more likely to be writing the remaining November cases. Look for Roberts to be writing the Harvard and UNC cases, and Alito to be writing Mallory. 2. . . .

On Friday the Supreme Court issued its decision in United States v. Hansen. The question before the justices was whether a federal law that criminalizes “encouraging or inducing” an immigrant to come or remain in the United States unlawfully violates the First Amendment’s guarantee of the freedom of speech. The court narrowly interpreted the law to avoid the First Amendment concerns that would be raised if “encourage or induce” were given their ordinary, conversational meanings — and include meanings such as to “influence,” “encourage,” or “inspire with hope” — as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit had held they did. The opinion also shed light on the newer justices’ views on the freedom of speech and the direction the newly reconfigured court may be pushing First Amendment law. […] How should we interpret the court’s less speech libertarian but arguably measured approach as we look ahead to major First Amendment cases like this term’s 303 Creative about whether a website designer has a First Amendment right to refuse to serve gay couples, or high-profile challenges to laws regulating social media platforms, which the court could take up next term? Have the justices been chastened by concerns about the court’s legitimacy? Or are the justices and new court simply in the process of defining their priorities, perhaps moving from the speech-libertarian tilt of recent courts to one that more heavily emphasizes religious rights, race neutrality, and separation of powers (such as the newly minted major questions doctrine)? Perhaps some mix of all of the above is at play — any of which may have significant consequences for the future of both the court and constitutional law.

For years, Stanley Kurtz has written about the Left’s attack on the suburbs, as have demographers such as Wendall Cox and Joel Kotkin. Kurtz’s book “Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities” detailed the war on the suburbs that Barack Obama had undertaken almost immediately after being elected President. The war on the suburbs was just a part of his radical transformation of America. A poll conducted this month shows 32% of registered voters have a positive view of the Democrat while 49% have a negative view of her. Hunter Biden’s attorneys countered with claims against Mac Isaac, alleging the store owner had committed several “invasion of privacy” torts by sharing the data recovered from the laptop. In filing the counterclaim, and the answer and defenses to Mac Isaac’s defamation lawsuit, Hunter Biden claimed he lacked “knowledge sufficient to admit or deny the allegations,” that the laptop was his and that he dropped it off at the repair shop.

On June 8, the picturesque city of Annecy, nicknamed “the Pearl of the French Alps,” was convulsed with terror when a knife-wielding man attacked a group of preschool children in a park, at least one of whom was sat strapped into a pram. Four children and two adults were seriously injured. The attack, which was partially filmed by bystanders, horrified France—and the world. The attacker was a Syrian asylum seeker. In recent years, France has seen a number of attacks by migrants, but to call them “attacks” minimizes the nature of the brutality involved. People aren’t just physically assaulted in the sense most Europeans are familiar with: a punch, a kick, or a push. They are stabbed repeatedly without warning or mercy. They’re run over at high speed while walking on the sidewalk. Some are even beheaded in public. In October of 2020, a French secondary school teacher by the name of Samuel Paty had his head chopped off on the streets of Éragny-sur-Oise, a Parisian suburb. The Chechen attacker in that case was an Islamic extremist called Abdoullakh Abouyezidovich Anzorov. He attacked Paty with a meat cleaver. Some 500 miles away, in Germany, migrants and refugees regularly carry out abhorrent crimes. On the very same day as the attack in Annecy, Bild, one of Germany’s leading papers, published a shocking story involving an Eritrean who dismembered another Eritrean, before dumping the victim’s body in the forest. […] If the future is uncertain, one thing is clear at least: regaining their sovereignty and their safety will not be easy for the long-suffering peoples of Europe.

Even if the anti-Israel activists are made aware that Palestinian students living under the Palestinian Authority are being hauled off and tortured by their own leaders, they are not likely to speak out because there is no way to blame Israel or hold it responsible.
The Palestinian Authority crackdown on students is also being ignored by the international media and human rights organizations that regularly attack Israel but indefatigably refuse to see any wrongdoing on the part of Palestinians. Many foreign journalists covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict make it their business actually to hunt for any story that reflects badly on Israel.
If these activists really cared about Palestinians, they would be speaking out against the arrest and torture of Palestinian students at the hands of Palestinian security forces, the need for better education, jobs and above all better, less corrupt governance for Palestinians. They would also be insisting on freedom of speech and of the press for Palestinians, and protesting the reported forcible closing of human rights groups such as Lawyers for Justice, instead of denouncing Israel day and night.
