The Biden Administration asks whether we should have a First Amendment. On Independence Day, Federal District Court Judge Terry A. Doughty issued a preliminary injunction in Missouri v. Biden that blocks the White House and numerous federal agencies from communicating with social media companies for “the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech.” The Government filed a Notice of Appeal, and requested a stay on enforcement of the injunction until its appeal is decided. Doughty denied the stay, though he nominally clarified the injunction’s scope. The Government then filed for an emergency stay with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. That motion is pending. The howls of despair from the Biden Administration and its allies on the Left mark an inflection point on whether the United States remains the bastion of free speech, or transitions to a European model that restricts speech to that which the elites consider acceptable. […] The Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment states: “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” The Supreme Court has long held that this prohibition applies also to actions by the Executive Branch.[…] Labeling speech as “misinformation” does not strip it of protection. […] George Washington’s warning in 1783 rings just as clearly today: “If the freedom of Speech may be taken away, [then] dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the Slaughter.” Under settled law, resolving all doubts against the plaintiffs, there may be a limited right for the Government to urge social media to suppress posts that endorse dangerous and fraudulent courses of treatment. Even if true, that would not mitigate the Biden Administration’s massive and intentional violation of the First Amendment, or justify its insistence on the right to continue to do so. The Left seeks to delegitimize any executive, journalist, academic, public official, or court that does not support its agenda. They are succeeding. If this case is not their Waterloo, then it will be ours, and the end of the American experiment.

A federal judge has ruled Oregon’s voter-approved gun control measure – one of the toughest in the nation – is constitutional. U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut ruled that banning large capacity magazines and requiring a permit to purchase a gun falls in line with “the nation’s history and tradition of regulating uniquely dangerous features of weapons and firearms to protect public safety,” Oregon Public Broadcasting reported. The decision comes after a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision on the Second Amendment that has upended gun laws across the country, dividing judges and sowing confusion over what firearm restrictions can remain on the books. It changed the test that lower courts had long used for evaluating challenges to firearm restrictions, telling judges that gun laws must be consistent with the “historical tradition of firearm regulation.”

If you think the world is ending—that climate change is the equivalent of a giant meteor hurtling towards Earth—political rhetoric of that sort makes sense. But I think it can be easily demonstrated that climate change, however serious, is not an incoming giant meteor. U.N. Secretary General António Guterres and many Western leaders, including the current administration in the U.S., tend toward the end-of-the-world point of view: “The world is facing a grave climate emergency. . . . Every week brings new climate-related devastation. Floods. Drought. Heatwaves. Wildfires. Superstorms. . . . We are in a battle for our lives. . . . Climate change is the biggest threat to the global economy.” These claims are echoed endlessly in the media. But are they true? Consider the supposed rise in “superstorms” such as stronger hurricanes. What do we actually know?

An amendment introduced by Representative Matt Gaetz, which would have prohibited “federal funds for training on diversity, equity, and inclusion” for the military, was narrowly defeated on Thursday night, after nine Republicans joined the Democrats to vote it down. Unlike several other Republican-backed amendments tacked on to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), this proposal was beaten by 221 to 210, with no Democrats voting in favor. In other words, she is part of the problem. One of the best responses was from Vivek Ramaswamy, . . . […] A lot of people lamented the fact that Donald Trump was not present. […] Things are different now, I suspect, but the amazing thing is that Trump was not absent from this Q & A. No, he decided to come via ventriloquist, namely, R. No country would ever depend on an out-and-out rival for something as vital as energy. Yet the Biden administration, through its zealous, misguided pursuit of “net-zero emissions,” is fast-tracking America‘s dependence on Communist China for the minerals and components that back-end green technology. The administration also is curbing the mining industry, again allowing China to monopolize America and the world in minerals and ores. This strategic disaster is a complete reversal of what President Donald Trump had achieved. Under him, the U.S. — long dependent on OPEC for oil — became a net exporter of natural gas and crude oil for the first time in more than 50 years. Exploration of oil and natural gas boosted the economy, lowered energy prices, and bolstered national security by increasing our energy independence. Biden, on assuming office, pledged to eliminate the fossil fuel industry and pursue a radical climate agenda to replace carbon energy with renewables. He has since called for replacing 50% of carbon-fueled automobiles with electric vehicles (E.V.s) by 2030, creating a carbon-free electric grid by 2035, and having a carbon-free economy by 2050. This push toward unstable solar and wind power will markedly increase dependence on China, which dominates the market in materials required for E.V.s, batteries, and other renewables. As a report from the Institute for Energy Research (IER) states, “green energy runs through communist China.” It notes that even if China were a trustworthy trading partner, near-total dependence on one country would still disadvantage America greatly.

The Democratic Party is no less committed to the concept that African-Americans must remain captive to a public education system that by every measure is failing them catastrophically. […] In 2022, 86% of white fourth graders tested at grade level in math. That figure was 55% for blacks. That overall score for black students was heavily impacted by the horrifying performance of black students in cities like Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia. In these five cities, the average share of black students performing at grade level was 28%. […] The standard response to these results and statistics is that the schools serving inner-city kids are underfunded and under-resourced. Nothing could be further from the truth. Again, Philadelphia provides a graphic example. The city spends $26,089 per student.

For many Americans, the idea of summer camp evokes warm, fire-lit memories of outdoor adventures, new friends, and the simple pleasure of enjoying God’s creation. As a former camper, my favorite activities were archery, educational nature hikes, and any sport involving water. After experiencing such delights, it’s hard to believe Planned Parenthood recently had the audacity to market a children’s sex education program as “summer camp” — but then, it’s already ruining families via abortion and future fertility through sex-suppressing hormones. Why not add summer camp to its list of spoilers? For poor souls in Minnesota, Planned Parenthood North Central States announced it was hosting “S’MORE” camp, which stands for Science-based, Medically accurate, Open-minded, Responsible Education. None of these attributes accurately describe Planned Parenthood. This is the same organization that changed its definition of ectopic pregnancy treatment when the facts weren’t convenient anymore.

But there is another mystery which is even more troubling. How could a prominent man carrying around a very public child prostitution conviction have remained in the good graces of high society? Having loosely followed the Epstein story for nearly a decade before his 2019 arrest, it was a question I’d pondered many times over the years. Until a satisfying answer emerged from, of all things, the PizzaGate conspiracy theory. For those who do not remember, Pizzagate started with some emails from a Democratic Party operative named John Podesta. Podesta had been a fixture in Washington D.C. for five decades, working for numerous Democratic politicians and committees through the 1970s and ’80s. In 1988 he and his brother Tony started the Podesta Group, which quickly grew into arguably the most powerful Democrat lobbying firm in America. Podesta had met Bill Clinton in 1970, when they both worked for Senator Joseph Duffey; then when Clinton became President, he tapped Podesta to serve in his administration, eventually promoting him to his Chief of Staff in 1998. In 2003, he started the Center for American Progress, one of the Democratic Party’s most important private propaganda outfits. John Podesta is one of those people – there is a whole class of them affiliated with both parties – who never runs for office or heads a government agency, but always seems to be around and in the mix in Washington D.C. When Hillary Clinton needed a loyal old hand to manage her 2016 Presidential campaign, Podesta was the obvious choice. As the election came down to the wire in Fall 2016, WikiLeaks released an archive of emails that had been lifted from John Podesta’s personal account. […] . . . the collection of tens of thousands of emails there were a handful that looked pretty bad when the decoder ring was applied to them. Researchers paid special attention to any emails that mentioned pizza, which, according to some, had long been used as a code word by pedophiles and traffickers in child pornography. For example, . . . […] People trawled through the Podesta emails looking for any mention of “pizza,” and came across several references to a D.C. restaurant called Comet Ping Pong Pizza, and its owner, James Alefantis. Alefantis was a Democratic donor, and the former gay lover of David Brock, founder of Media Matters. Somehow, despite being merely a pizza peddler, Alefantis was listed by GQ Magazine as one of the 50 Most Powerful People in Washington.

His impressive two-hour presentation sought to answer the question: How can this system that people rely on fail us so badly? But to understand the failure is to understand the context within which the new vaccines arose. We need to understand what happened 37 years ago. In 1986, Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (HR5546). This is an historic act because it removed liability for childhood injury vaccines. Removing liability tends to alter the behavior of entities that benefit. Indeed, it turned out that pharmaceutical companies were no longer liable for injuries caused by their products. That has been the law since 1986.

The American Accountability Foundation, a conservative opposition research group founded in 2020, published a new report observed by The New York Post that said NIH Biden-nominee Dr. Monica Bertagnolli has “problematic close ties with big pharma” with the nation’s primary agency responsible for biomedical and public health research. “Big Pharma bankrolled her career, and she has long been a friend and ally to them,” the group told The Post in a statement.

Here’s the story of the Martin Luther King Jr/Drew Medical Center (King/Drew) in Los Angeles, which operated from 1972 to 2007. Or as patients called, it “Killer King.” The hospital was founded in 1972, in response to black riots of the late 1960s. Elites in LA, like elsewhere in the country, determined that racism was the cause of pathologies in the black community. Therefore they decided to open up a hospital to serve locals. […] Patients would come in with minor medical issues and end up dead. Locals would run away from ambulances in order not to be brought to Killer King. Police officers had an understanding that if their colleagues were shot, they would not allow them to be taken there. […] Community activists complained that King/Drew didn’t have enough funding. In fact, it got more funding per patient than the other three general hospitals in Los Angeles County. […] The diversity ideology poisons everything it touches in a vicious cycle. Incompetent doctors, race baiting politicians intimidating those who know better and protecting failed institutions. Now, a press that has become more openly committed to covering up inconvenient facts. This is a reminder that, behind the statistics you see on racial realities and the harms of DEI ideology, there are real costs in terms of health, public safety, and ultimately the functioning of our civilization. Let the memory of Killer King remain as a testament to that.

While this is the message of the 2017 documentary White Boy and the 2018 feature film White Boy Rick, the actual facts present a more politically incorrect message. The story shows the travesty of black-run Detroit and how its corruption unfairly kept a white person in jail. […] White Boy Rick’s tragedy was not the result of the Drug War. It’s the story of a white kid who became the scapegoat for the problems of a black-run city and was harshly punished for doing the right thing.
