NOTABLE QUOTES

Don Fotheringham contributor to American Thinker: If every cloud has a silver lining, COVID’s silver, from which we should try to benefit, has shone the light on the shallowness and fragility of our common sense.

Sean Feucht contributor to The Federalist: We are facing an identity crisis. Do we fearlessly follow the God who redeemed us, or serve the woke whims of our current culture?

Kelly Ward Arizona Republican Party Chair: The Democrat plan for reengineering our country starts with open borders and open elections. Forget the rules, anyone can enter our country illegally, and if you ask for voter identification or try to stop phony mail-in ballots from being counted, or try to stop those dead people from voting, well, that is what those Democrats call voter suppression. And at this very moment, while the hand-counting of ballots continues, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes and legal action is imminent… And now Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer has revealed in a letter to voters that he learned that prior to his term a breach of voter identification information occurred last election cycle and is now being investigated by law enforcement. If I were a Democrat I think I’d be in a frenzy myself.

Antonio Vitolo TN restaurant owner files a lawsuit against Biden administration for discriminating against white males after applying for a Restaurant Revitalization grant: I do not want special treatment. I just want to be treated equally under the law. I am opposed to race and sex discrimination, and I would hope my government lived up to the same principle.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in a press meeting describes Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA): “I used to work as a bartender. These are the kinds of people that I threw out of bars all the time.”

BEHIND THE DEEP STATE

Fontova: A Woke CIA? Old News
As backlash began to grow over the CIA’s recent recruitment videos, former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright told Fox & Friends recently that the agency had pushed “woke propaganda”: “What happens when you hire a bunch of folks who are wokesters going out into the world that is not woke?… As an analyst, are they going to bring nuance to their analysis or are they going to bring any degree of unbiasedness to their job? Of course not. They’re activists now.” Former secretary of state and director of the CIA Mike Pompeo said the U.S. couldn’t afford to risk national security to “appease some liberal, woke agenda.”
And speaking of “unbiasedness” and of “risking U.S. national security to appease a liberal agenda” by the CIA: “Me and my staff were all Fidelistas” — Robert Reynolds, the CIA’s Caribbean Desk chief from 1957 to 1960. “Everyone in the CIA and everyone at State was pro-Castro, except [Republican] ambassador Earl Smith.” — Robert Weicha, CIA operative in Santiago Cuba. “Don’t worry. We’ve infiltrated Castro’s guerrilla group in the Sierra Mountains. The Castro brothers and Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara have no affiliations with any Communists whatsoever.” — Crackerjack Havana CIA station chief Jim Noel, 1958.
“Without U.S. help Fidel Castro would never have gotten into power. The State Department played a large part in bringing Castro to power. The press, the Chief of the CIA Section are also responsible… we are responsible for bringing Castro in power. I do not care how you want to word it.” — Earl T. Smith U.S. Ambassador to Cuba, 1957-59.

JANUARY 6TH

Kelly: House Republicans Defy the January 6 Narrative
It’s about time. U.S. Representative Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) prompted outrage this week following his remarks during a congressional hearing on the events of January 6, 2021. Clyde, along with several Republican House members, is finally pushing back on the Democrats’ allegedly unassailable narrative about what happened that day. The roughly four-hour disturbance at the Capitol, as I’ve covered for months, is being weaponized not only against Donald Trump but also hundreds of nonviolent Americans who traveled to their nation’s capital to protest the final certification of a fraudulent presidential election. Big Tech used the so-called “attack” on the Capitol as an excuse to achieve its long-sought-after goal to deplatform the former president; NeverTrumpers such as Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) insist the chaos of the day was fueled by the “Big Lie”—in other words, the belief held by tens of millions of Republicans—and a good share of independents—that Joe Biden didn’t legitimately earn enough votes to win the White House. The Biden regime vows to use the “whole of government” to purge the country of “domestic violent extremists,” which is code for Trump supporters. And the media continue to blatantly lie about the number of fatalities on January 6, including the myth that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died at the hands of Trump “insurrectionists.” But some Republicans are fed up with all the myths, the Justice Department’s abusive manhunt for Capitol protesters, and the obvious double standards.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA REGIME:TRANSFORMING FOREIGN POLICY

Hammer: Moral Clarity Versus Moral Depravity in Israel and Gaza
In this perverse cosplay, Israel is the “white” Derek Chauvin, Hamas is the “brown” George Floyd, and the Left will not let facts or morality get in the way of the preferred narrative. Nationally syndicated radio host Dennis Prager has often observed that if the Israelis were to lay down their guns, Israel would be destroyed tomorrow, but if the Palestinians were to lay down their guns, there would be peace tomorrow. It has always been thus. […] Alas, this past week has highlighted just how utterly depraved the leftist moral compass actually is. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), a longstanding anti-Semite and co-founder of House Democrats’ de facto Hamas Caucus, outrageously tweeted that Israeli airstrikes in Gaza against military targets amounted to “act(s) of terrorism.” Omar’s partner in crime and Hamas Caucus co-founder Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) joined in the intersectional fun, opining, “What they are doing to the Palestinian people is what they continue to do to our Black brothers and sisters here” in the United States. Ben Rhodes, the failed novelist-turned-former Obama staffer who attained outsized notoriety in foisting the vile Iran nuclear deal upon an American polity that rightfully opposed it, seized the moment not to stand in solidarity with our Israeli allies but to openly muse what the world looks like “through the eyes of a Palestinian child.”

DEMOCRAT PARTY PLAYBOOK: MARXIST CRITICAL RACE THEORY (WOKE IDENTITY POLITICS)

Prager U Video: Who Has Privilege?
To put it mildly, comedian Adam Carolla didn’t grow up with privilege. He doesn’t even know how to spell it. So where did the current obsession with privilege come from? And how do we get over it? Carolla explains all in this new short video from Prager University. Check it out below:

Hogan: Death and De-Prosecution in Philadelphia
In 2017, Philadelphians elected “progressive prosecutor” Larry Krasner as district attorney. Since taking office, Krasner has pursued a policy of de-prosecution—the decision not to prosecute certain crimes regardless of whether they actually took place—as homicides have spiked. While Philadelphia experienced de-prosecution and rising homicides leading up to Krasner’s election, both trends have accelerated dramatically under his leadership. That he now faces a serious primary challenge in his quest for reelection should come as no surprise. Under Krasner, Philadelphia is on track to set two city records: the lowest number of felony prosecutions in modern history and the highest number of homicides. Last year was grim enough, as a 30-year low in felony cases prosecuted coincided with 499 homicides—more than New York, which has five times the population, and one shy of the record, reached in 1990 at the height of the crack epidemic. In 2021, the body count is on track to surpass 600. In just six years, the number of homicides in Philadelphia has doubled. Over the past decade, the media and academics have hailed the enormous power of prosecutors. Less appreciated is that a prosecutor’s power is absolute only in the authority to de-prosecute. […] The victims of de-prosecution are unambiguous—they are the very people whom this misguided policy was meant to help. More than 80 percent of Philadelphia’s homicide victims in 2019 were racial minorities, the vast majority of whom were black. Homicides are concentrated in North, West, and Southwest Philadelphia, the poorest sections of the city. And last year, more than 20 children were shot and killed in Philadelphia and more than 100 others wounded.

PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY HAVE YOUR VOICES HEARD

Maginnis: Is Silence Falling in the Mineshaft?
Military officers from two leading democracies have been viciously attacked for warning their fellow countrymen about existential threats. The officers’ critics claim these leaders ought to remain silent denying fellow citizens of their judgment about the crises before it’s too late.
One hundred and twenty-four retired American generals and admirals published an open letter (May 12th) that begins “Our nation is in deep peril.” Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Mike Mullen, President Barack Obama’s former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, dismissed the letter alleging it “hurts the military and… the country” and contains Republican Party “talking points.” Retired U.S. Army Major General Joe Arbuckle agreed that “Retired generals and admirals normally do not engage in political actions.” But he rejects the critics, claiming “the situation facing our nation today is dire and we must speak out in order to be faithful to our oath to support and defend the Constitution of the U.S. against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Across the Atlantic a cohort of French officers warned in two open letters their country was heading for “disintegration” and “civil war.” […] Both officers’ warnings ring true for a growing majority of French and American citizens as evidenced by recent polling. Six in ten Americans say the United States is on the wrong track and similarly, 73 percent of Frenchmen agree their nation has lost its way. The American officers warn . . . […] The French officers claim their nation is heading for . . .
[…] Both the American and French officers raise legitimate concerns about their governments, which reflect majority views across their respective countries. However, the pregnant question raised by critics is: Should military officers in a democratic state go public with their criticism?

THE ENEMY WITHIN

Squires: Why Christianity And Critical Race Theory Cannot Coexist
Critical race theory is the most discussed and debated academic theory in America today. Its advocates believe it is a tool for understanding the pervasiveness of systemic racism ever since the country was founded. Its detractors have called it a Marxist framework that causes racism and teaches people to judge each other based on skin color. One institution that has been particularly damaged by the spread of critical race theory is American evangelicalism. A recent book entitled “Fault Lines,” by Dr. Voddie Baucham Jr., pastor and dean at the African Christian University, directly addresses the social justice movement and how it threatens the unity of Christian believers.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY’S WAR ON AMERICA’S CHILDREN

Mason: President Biden Should Leave Homeschooling Alone
Harvard law professor Elizabeth Bartholet gained notoriety last April when her law-review article calling for a “presumptive ban” of homeschooling went viral. That was, of course, right around when another notorious viral event began to unfold, causing worldwide school closures. In 2020, homeschooling became an educational safe harbor for millions of children and parents who suddenly found themselves home together. Indeed, this past pandemic year may have permanently changed the educational landscape in America, as many of those who sought the refuge of homeschooling during a distressing time discovered the joys of seeing their child’s “eureka” learning moments as they happened. […] As part of a recent interview grading the first 100 days of the Biden administration vis-à-vis children and families, Harvard Law Today asked her what President Biden should do “going forward.” Staying true to pre-pandemic form, Bartholet said, “I would like to see the Biden administration’s educational agenda expand to include reform of the current homeschooling regime.” To be clear, by “reform,” she means that the federal government should crack down on homeschooling.

Berrien: Israel Tricks Hamas With Brilliant Tactical Move, Then Launches Ferocious Air Campaign
On Thursday night, the Israel Defense Forces started gathering ground forces near the Israeli border with the Gaza Strip, preparing for what looked like a ground assault into the area from where Hamas has launched myriad rockets attacking the Jewish state. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the campaign against Hamas was far from over, adding that Israel “would exact a very heavy price from Hamas and the other terrorist organizations. We are doing so and we will continue to do so with great force. The last word has not been said and this operation will continue as long as necessary in order to restore the quiet and security to the State of Israel.”

“One particular image, captured by Anas Baba of the French news agency AFP shows the rockets launched from Gaza, drawing straight angular golden lines in the night sky,” The Times of Israel reported. “Iron Dome interceptor rockets are seen rising up in swirling fury, ready to bring them down.”
