Over the past 18 months, The Daily Signal’s Virginia Allen and I have visited the border from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. What we saw in all our travels was the same: President Joe Biden’s deliberate abandonment of every measure that has worked in the past to reduce incentives for illegal immigration, combined with diminished enforcement […]

Since Donald Trump’s rise within Republican ranks, conservatives have divided into two competing foreign policy camps. One contends that Trump’s approach suits the world in which we live and supersedes previous GOP national security and foreign affairs outlooks. A smaller contingent contends that Ronald Reagan’s understanding of America and his conduct of diplomacy remain the […]

Not so long ago, commentators across the political spectrum were warning us that China’s economy was set to surpass America’s. The United States needed, one Senator claimed, “a 21st -century pro-American industrial policy,” to ward off this existential threat. Such rhetoric was reminiscent of the late-1980s, when a slew of books appeared to warn Americans that, unless […]
Blood Money: Why The Powerful Turn A Blind Eye While China Kills Americans Author: Peter Schweizer, published by Harper Collins. Reading Peter Schweizer’s new book is a disturbing revelation. It is a very important book, perhaps the most important book for a Conservative American to read right now. However, it is not a pleasant book […]

Senator Schumer’s speech during which he called for “regime change” in the government of a democratic ally on the floor of the Senate was unprecedented in American history. Let that sink in. It reflects a new level of anti-democratic big power arrogance designed to achieve for Hamas and the Jihadists the victory they cannot achieve […]

Editors’ Note: We suggest also reading Part 1 of A Tale of Two Lies – Jewish Settler Colonialism published two weeks ago in The Prickly Pear. The author’s accurate history of the state of Israel and the well documented distortions presented to the world since 1948 are particularly relevant to the existential threat Israel is […]

In the 1990s and for years into our century, it was common to ridicule the government for being technologically backwards. We were all gaining access to fabulous things, including webs, apps, search tools, and social media. But governments at all levels were stuck in the past using IBM mainframes and large floppy disks. In “Time for Two States,” Rachel Lu observes that after the shocking events of October 7, “the sequence of events was somewhat predictable. Israel retaliated. It was clear they would win.” Well, maybe not win, exactly. But definitely, “Israel’s war with Hamas is reaching its final stages.” If only it were. According to the Wall […]
The 20th century and early 21st century are remarkable for the large number of terrorist organizations arising during these years. They include not only those most recently in the news — Hamas and Hezbollah — but also the Baader-Meinhof Gang (Germany), the Japanese Red Army, the Weathermen (U.S.), the Red Brigades (Italy), Black September (Arab), Timothy McVeigh and others. What they all have in common is a willingness to extinguish human life to achieve some purported political objective. Typically, terrorists don’t much care if they happen to kill babies and toddlers. For example, Timothy McVeigh described the death of infants and children in a child care center in the Oklahoma City federal building that he destroyed as “collateral damage.”
