Daily News Roundup

Estimated Reading Time: 29 minutes

Tucker Carlson: When he met with the group, Biden said, they spoke about “how we could increase and disseminate more rapidly food shortages.” That’s what Joe Biden said verbatim. It’s on tape. So here you have the president of the United States pledging to increase food shortages at a press conference. That seemed like a newsworthy event, but not a single news organization in this country seemed to notice it happened. Nor did the White House correct it.

Sundance contributor to The Last Refuge: The #1 factor in the shortage of food production is the newly emboldened ‘western energy policy‘ and the impact energy has on everything from field (fertilizer) to fork (distribution).  Other factors include government policy that blocks food development (Dutch, Irish and Sri Lanka Farmers), a sudden uptick in food facilities having major fires and damage, and a series of issues with the feed that goes into the production of proteins.

Máximo Torero Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations: “But we have also “forgotten” the link between energy and food. We talk about the changing energy mix for climate issues, but that will increase the price of energy, of natural gas, and that will increase the price of fertilizer. That is what really is putting at risk the next supply and could create a problem of food availability as well as access.”

Michael contributor to The Economic Collapse: People on the other side of the planet are dropping dead from starvation right now, but most people don’t even realize that this is happening. Unfortunately, most people just assume that everything is fine and dandy. If you are one of those people that believe that everything is just wonderful, I would encourage you to pay close attention to the details that I am about to share with you. Global hunger is rapidly spreading, and that is because global food supplies have been getting tighter and tighter. If current trends continue, we could potentially be facing a nightmare scenario before this calendar year is over.

World Food Programme: In just two years, the number of people facing, or at risk of, acute food insecurity increased from 135 million in 53 countries pre-pandemic, to 345 million in 82 countries today.

Josh Hammer Newsweek opinion editor: Our 21st-century civilizational battles, in other words, are those waged between the popular sovereigntists and the globalist progressives who cling to every would-be “crisis” or “emergency” in a desperate attempt to attain and weaponize ever-more power.

Hon. Thaddeus G. McCotter contributor to Human Events:  . . .the WEF’s climate apocalypse’s dog is not barking at communist China, because it is begging for treats. This inconvenient truth belies the impending climate apocalypse; evinces that this alleged “crisis” isn’t about controlling the climate; it’s about controlling you; and if the WEF gets its elitist way, the only impending “mass extinction event” will be of your liberty and prosperity.

Matthew Peterson contributor to Daily Caller: With metastasizing demand for education and credentialing, the revolutionary left dominates every part of American public life. It conquered the universities decades ago, when wokeness was called “political correctness,” but then it all seemed like a joke. Today, public school teachers, H.R. functionaries, government bureaucrats, and DEI commissars all speak the language of the old campus radicals. The liberty to speak the truth as they see it is a luxury now that many otherwise successful Americans can’t afford.

Allan J. Feifer contributor to American Thinker: Bill Ayers and his ill understood what it would take to bring America to its knees.  Changing our language, getting rid of our iconology (think America’s Flag and Pledge of Allegiance), and changing history to take away our natural pride, tenacity, and very intellectual being is required to get to their end game. We must fight back with force against those with a generation or two head start on the rest of us.  If someone comes into your house to kidnap your baby, no amount of your righteous indignation will suffice in defense.  We must commit to total war against those intruders who hold such blackness in their hearts. Such is another litmus test we will need to pass to survive. God Bless America!

Derek Hunter columnist for TownHall: If there is some good news out there, count on some leftists to come along and take a huge dump on it. It’s what they do – they are the nail in the tire of your homecoming float, the rock you twist your ankle on while taking the field for the Super Bowl, the open-mouth belch during a moment of silence. Only miserable human beings could be such a destructive force every single time there is something that could actually unite Americans, because unity is kryptonite to the progressive movement.

Dr. Raj Bhardwaj a Canadian family physician: “I didn’t know about this either until last year, but It turns out that after flu season, about three or four weeks later, there is a stroke season. And like you said, most of Canada is getting down off of a big hump of flu.” “So now we’re starting to see more strokes and a friend of one of my colleagues actually mentioned that at work the other day, ‘So if you noticed how many strokes we’re seeing, it’s a lot more than usual it feels like?'”  So anecdotally, we’re starting to see that.”

Alex Timothy journalist for The Post Millennial: Canada is responsible for more organ transplants from its medical assistance in dying (MAiD) program than any other country in the world that offers this practice, according to a study published in the American Journal of Transplantation.

Daniel Greenfield contributor to Frontpage Magazine: If only we had some sort of, I don’t know, wall or something to keep vast numbers of people from just walking into America and then announcing that they don’t want to leave. And once they’ve invaded the country, what’s the big deal about invading a hotel?

Sundance: The 2024 GOPe Roadmap Appears Modified to Use Republican Governors Association

As I’m watching President Trump doing the familiar targeting of the GOPe roadmap, in this instance hitting the Club for Growth (CfG), my spidey senses are telling me their modified 2024 path will involve increased emphasis on the Republican Governors Association (RGA). In the 2020 midterms, the RGA headed by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey was positioning: specifically positioning Ron DeSantis.  If the modified establishment roadmap rolls out as it looks right now, I suspect the RGA will play a key role in it. President Trump hit back against the always insufferable Club for Growth yesterday.  President Trump hit back against the always insufferable Club for Growth yesterday.  The CfG together with the Business Roundtable and U.S. Chamber of Commerce are the political nexus for all things multinational, Wall Street and globalist. […] It is true that Club for Growth represent the “globalist,” which is to say, ‘America Last’, perspective.   DeSantis long political alignment with CfG to include his support for Fast Track Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), the tool for the Transpacific Partnership trade deal (TPP), is a part of his legislative record that Ron DeSantis cannot avoid.

Coyner: Is Donald Trump Worth The Fight?

Donald Trump was a great, if imperfect, president. By the third year of his presidency, the country was flourishing. The economy was roaring, jobs were up, incomes were up, gas prices were down, and America and Americans were doing fairly well. But then a funny thing happened on the way to the election. The swamp struck back via Covid and the George Floyd protests. Neither of those was of Trump’s making, but Democrats used both to steal the election. The Democrats didn’t create Covid or put Floyd in the morgue, but they used the lockdowns and the riots to sufficiently upend American life so that they could steal the election under the cover of chaos. Those were tests, and Donald Trump failed. With Covid, he allowed the country to be misled by a snake oil salesman and, with the Floyd protests, he didn’t send in the troops. It’s easy to understand, of course, why he failed. […]  That Donald Trump failed at leading the country through those two disasters is, sadly, understandable. Given the savagery and breadth of the relentless attacks on him, it would have taken someone just short of Zeus to have succeeded. The result of that failure was that Democrats stole the election, and Trump lost the White House.

Fast forward two years. […] . . . the question is: Has Trump learned the hard lesson… that the swamp is the Terminator, it will not stop, it cannot be negotiated with, the swamp knows no parties or limits, and it must be crushed? Otherwise, it will kill him, kill his supporters and kill the Republic of the United States.

Recent events seem to suggest that he . . . .

Barkoukis: DOJ Denies GOP Request for Information on Probe Into Biden’s Classified Documents

The Department of Justice responded to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Monday, denying a Jan. 13 request for information regarding its probe into classified documents found at President Biden’s home and private office. “The Department’s longstanding policy is to maintain the confidentiality of such information regarding open matters,” said Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Carlos Uriarte in the letter.

Boyd: Mark Houck, Pro-Life Dad Targeted By Biden Regime, Acquitted Of Trumped-Up Charges

‘The Biden Department of Justice’s intimidation against pro-life people and people of faith has been put in its place,’ Houck’s attorney says. On Monday a federal jury acquitted Mark Houck, the Christian pro-life activist whose house was swarmed by FBI agents last fall in front of his wife and children. The not-guilty verdict comes more than four months after the Biden administration accused Houck of violating federal law for protecting his son from an angry abortion activist across the street from a Planned Parenthood in 2021. After leaving the courtroom in a deadlock on Friday, on Monday a federal jury agreed Houck was not guilty of violating federal law, contrary to the Biden Department of Justice’s position.

Scher: ‘Time Is of the Essence’: GOP’s Weaponization Committee Won’t Wait Long on Subpoenas

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) says the committee, officially dubbed the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, is composed of members who know how to “dig,” and they are hungry for answers after having their requests for documents and witnesses ignored when they were in the minority. Though the committee was established just a week ago, its first actions were on matters Stefanik and her colleagues have had their sights on for years. Stefanik says it’s time for answers. “Time is of the essence, we understand that,” Stefanik told the Washington Free Beacon. “Almost all these document requests have already been issued. There is a process, and we will follow that process, but we will leave no stone unturned.”

Hanchett: GOP Chief Deputy Whip: Cutting from Omnibus Will Be Part of Debt Limit Talks

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” House Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) stated that cutting spending from the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill will “be a part of the negotiations” on raising the debt ceiling. Reschenthaler stated, [relevant remarks begin around 11:00] “I want to see Biden and the Democrats just negotiate. Because remember, just a few days ago, they were saying they would refuse to negotiate, they wanted to have a clean debt ceiling increase.

Sundance: Something’s Buggin’ Tucker Carlson, Food Production Is a National Security Issue

This is a topic we have covered extensively, and it is great to see Tucker Carlson questioning the sudden alignment of various elements that are creating a very real food insecurity problem. […]  This is all happening as the advancement of insects as a more “sustainable” protein replacement is being advanced by the same western governments.  However, if you happen to notice that all of the issues travel in the same direction, you are a conspiracy theorist, or something. We have been watching the predictable outcomes surrounding the western government shift to change energy policy for almost two years.  Approximately a year ago we first said, “the absence of food will change things.”

(Biden’s War) Horowitz: Russia’s war in Ukraine sparked a historic food crisis. It’s not over

Grain is once again leaving Ukrainian ports. The price of fertilizer is falling sharply. Billions of dollars in aid has been mobilized. Yet the world is still in the grips of the worst food crisis in modern history, as Russia’s war in Ukraine shakes global agricultural systems already grappling with the effects of extreme weather and the pandemic. Market conditions may have improved in recent months, but experts do not expect imminent relief. That means more pain for vulnerable communities already struggling with hunger. It also boosts the risk of starvation and famine in countries such as Somalia, which is contending with what the United Nations describes as a “catastrophic” food emergency.  [Note: When Biden poked the Bear, the Bear invaded Ukraine. Biden has yet to force Zelinsky to the table to engage in peace talk negotiations. Why hasn’t he?]

(1/13/23) Shah: Why Pakistan Is Facing a Growing Food Crisis

Last Saturday in Mirpur Khas, a city in Pakistan’s Sindh province, hundreds of people lined up for hours outside a park to buy subsidized wheat flour, offered for 65 rupees a kilogram instead of the current, inflated rate of about 140 to 160 rupees. When a few trucks arrived, the crowd surged forward, leaving several injured. One man, Harsingh Kolhi, who was there to bring a five kg bag of flour home for his wife and children, was crushed and killed in the chaos. As the dust settled, a group of people at the site took Kolhi’s body to the local press club and demanded the registration of a murder case against officials responsible for the stampede as well as the flour crisis across the province, according to Dawn. The incident is just one example of how the impact of the country’s burgeoning food shortage and a looming economic crisis are already being felt by Pakistan’s poorest.

Bavier, Sheikh, Ovaska & Bhandari: Africa’s food crisis is the biggest yet – five reasons why

In October, Nadifa Abdi Isak brought her malnourished daughters to hospital in Mogadishu. That day, a nurse said, 42 other children had already been checked into the emergency unit, ravaged by hunger. There were 57 the day before that. Staff at the Benadir maternity and paediatric hospital said admissions of malnourished children have more than doubled their patient numbers over the past year. They are now treating over 1,000 emergency cases each month. […]  Across Africa, from east to west, people are experiencing a food crisis that is bigger and more complex than the continent has ever seen, say diplomats and humanitarian workers. One in five Africans – a record 278 million people – were already facing hunger in 2021, according to data from the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It says the situation has worsened.

Forbes: Net Zero won’t be as pleasant as greenies think

According to the clerics of the Green Cult, once we blow up our last coal mine, send all diesel engines to the wreckers, stop using concrete, reinvent sailing clippers, cover the grasslands with solar clutter and the hills with wind machines, and then slaughter all of our cattle…global climate will become serene — not too warm, not too cold.  Wild weather will cease, and there will be no more droughts, floods, cyclones, or snowstorms, and no more plant and animal extinctions. But the records written in the rocks tell a very different story about climate changes.  Even when nature was in full control, it was not a serene place.

MCCOTTER: Where Is the Climate Cult’s Outrage at Genocidal Communist China?

Speaking of logic – or, more accurately, the absence thereof – enter the febrile hive-minds of the elitist caricature that is the World Economic Forum (WEF). As Breitbart reported, in their annual gaggle to make the world safe for autocracy to protect their money, power, and privilege from we peons, there was a discordant Greek chorus of Philippics, calumnies, and condemnations of carbon emissions, fossil fuels; and dire warnings that the failure to act with catholic alacrity to stanch the climate apocalypse is perpetuating a “planetary crisis” spurring “mass extinction” that puts “humanity’s future at risk.” Per the ravings of Mr. Al Gore: . . . […]  One cannot note how Mr. Gore leavens his rant with the rich irony that humanity will lose its “capacity for self-governance” if we do not cede our liberty and prosperity to the World Economic Forum’s “one percent” and their political, bureaucratic, and journalistic courtiers. But, apparently, there is no time for such digressions. After all, “we have to act” to “save the future.”

Kotkin: The Great Train Robbery

We will soon be leaving the first quarter of the 21st century behind us. But in the minds of our transportation planners, the punditry, and some real estate interests, the way forward is actually to step back to the glories of the 19th century. At the state level, and most significantly in Washington, we are about to pour an unprecedented $20 billion more into transit, especially subways and other trains. This is folly: changing demographics and geography, as well as new technologies, suggest a very different future for how most of us get around. We are simply not going to become a nation of train travelers, and it would be pointless—not to say destructive—to try. There’s nothing new here. Much of the national media, in chorus with urban political and economic leaders, have been pushing these train-focused approaches since the days of Jimmy Carter. The stated aim is usually to move Americans away from their supposedly evil and pernicious love of the private automobile. Americans drive not because they irrationally love cars—although some do—but because it is simply by far the best way to get around.

Rockerll, Jr.: Playing with Nuclear Fire

I didn’t think it was possible for brain dead Biden and his gang of neocon controllers to do anything in foreign policy that was crazier than what they have already done. But I have to give them credit. They have managed to do it. They are sending tanks and weapons to the Ukraine, even though doing this risks a nuclear war that could destroy mankind. Although the US over the past year has supplied the Zelensky dictatorship with weapons, this wasn’t unlimited. Now, it looks like it is well on the way to becoming so. Here is a statement from Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about the new aid: . . .  […]  The Russians aren’t taking this lying down. “The speaker of Russia’s parliament warned Sunday that countries supplying Ukraine with more powerful weapons risked their own destruction, a message that followed new pledges of armored vehicles, air defense systems and other equipment but not the battle tanks Kyiv requested. ‘Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe,’ State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said. ‘If Washington and NATO supply weapons that would be used for striking peaceful cities and making attempts to seize our territory as they threaten to do, it would trigger a retaliation with more powerful weapons.’

Greenfield: Secretary of State Blinken Warns Israel Against Limiting Power of the Left

Out of line. Secretary of State Blinken visited Israel where he appeared to spend much of his time berating Prime Minister Netanyahu and the new Israeli government against democratic judicial reform. […]  The Left and the media have been going wild because they hate democracy and prefer to rule through the judiciary, not to mention prosecutors and assured institutional unelected systems. Secretary of State Blinken decided to dive in by warning Israel against fighting terrorism. […] Then the speech got into the main event. “Throughout the relationship between our countries, what we come back to time and again is that it is rooted both in shared interests and in shared values.  That includes  . . . […]  The general assumption is that Blinken was talking about judicial reform. Here he’s even more out of line than anywhere else because the Biden administration has no business in interfering in Israeli politics. But Blinken decided to go for it anyway while opposing democracy. During his meeting with leftist president Herzog, a figurehead with no meaningful authority, Blinken became even more explicit. […]  It is however nice of Secretary of State Blinken to come to Israel and tell Israelis to stop letting the people rule and go back to having the ‘Herzogs’ rule so that the Left can run the country.

Klingenstein & Fonte: Woke Revolutionaries Versus Americanists

ndiana congressman Jim Banks recently announced the formation of an anti-woke caucus. Good. Banks is acknowledging, for the first time at a congressional level, the danger of woke tyranny. National Socialism (Nazism) and Communism were the challenges for prior generations of Americans. “Wokeism” is the challenge of our generation. We have reason to believe that Banks intends to put anti-wokeism at the center of Republican politics, which today has no center. America is in the middle of a Cold Civil War between woke revolutionaries—who believe America is and has always been systemically racist (evil), so that it must be deconstructed, de-legitimized (i.e., destroyed)—and those who believe that America is good, that its principles are the greatest antidote to racism ever created, and that preserving America and its principles is the highest and most urgent political calling. Let’s call these patriots “Americanists.” What should the anti-woke caucus do? […]  Explaining to Americans what exactly the woke regime is can be a challenge; the regime is slippery and amorphous. Normally, a totalitarian regime means the government controls all aspects of public and private life. The 20th century witnessed the hard totalitarian regimes of Nazism and Communism. Today, the woke regime can best be understood as a soft totalitarianism that seeks to marginalize, intimidate, and silence its opponents through censorship, coercion, media propaganda, intelligence agency operations, rigged elections, and the declarations of unelected bureaucrats and judges. The 21st century woke regime consists of a loose confederation of institutions: education, media, entertainment, businesses, Democratic politicians, the criminal justice system, and more. There is no overarching organization. But understanding and explaining, as well as possible, how that regime operates will be necessary to winning the war.

Homberger: End the Welfare-Warfare State

By any measure, the conversion of America to a welfare-warfare state has been a disaster. It is time to end this deadly and destructive political and economic experiment. Consider some examples: 1. After embroiling America in forever wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, and other parts of the world, the Pentagon has succeeded in getting us closer to nuclear war since 1962, when it did the same in the run-up to the Cuban Missile Crisis. 2. America’s socialist system of immigration controls has brought nothing but death, destruction of liberty, perpetual crisis and chaos along the border, and an immigration police state to the borderlands. 3.  . . . 4. . . .5. . . . […]  It is time for the American people to do some serious soul-searching, especially before the Pentagon succeeds in getting us into a nuclear war with Russia, China, or both. It is time to acknowledge that it was a horrific mistake to adopt the welfare-warfare state way of life. It is time to restore the good, sound founding principles of our nation and get America back on the right track — toward liberty, peace, prosperity, charity, and harmony with the people of the world.

Sukoff: MMT Is Dead. It Must Now Be Buried for Good

In the late 1960s Milton Friedman clarified his famous quip by stating that “In one sense, we are all Keynesians now; in another, nobody is any longer a Keynesian.” In the first part, we are all Keynesians because the government’s out of control spending has forced us to be. In the latter sense, we are not Keynesians because that spending has decimated our financial well-being. Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) is essentially an offshoot of Keynesianism in that government can spend ad nauseam and commensurately print money without any ill effect. With the historic inflation we are now experiencing, MMT has been thoroughly repudiated. MMT is dead–it must now be buried. In his basic economic textbooks, Professor Paul Krugman preaches Keynesianism. He teaches students about a government spending multiplier. In his fairy tale, . . .

Sedacca: Memphis cops charged in Tyre Nichols murder hired after PD relaxed job requirements

At least two out of of five Memphis police officers charged with murder in the fatal beatdown of Tyre Nichols joined the force after the department relaxed its hiring requirements. Tadarrius Bean and Demetrius Haley both joined the Memphis Police Department in Aug. 2020, NBC News reported, more than two years after the department dramatically loosened the education qualifications to become an officer. Recruits no longer needed  . . .[…] losening the required qualifications however means that the department is ultimately getting “less desirable” job candidates, Mike Alcazar, an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a retired NYPD detective, told The Post. “They’re desperate. They want police officers,” Alcazar said. “They’re going through it, they check off some boxes, saying, ‘Ok, they’re good enough, get them on.” […]  The department also revealed that was even offering waivers for people who have been convicted on felony charges.

Heine: MIT Professor Calls For an Immediate Halt to ‘Failing’ mRNA Vaccination Programs

An MIT expert in analytics and risk management in health systems is calling for the immediate halt of worldwide mRNA vaccination programs due to “mounting and indisputable evidence” that the shots are harming young people. “They should stop because they completely failed to fulfill any of their advertised promises regarding efficacy,” said Retsef Levi, a professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management since 2006. “And more importantly, they should stop because of the mounting and indisputable evidence that they cause an unprecedented level of harm, including the death of young people and children.”

Wehner: West Point continues to impose COVID-19 vaccine mandate, despite rule’s lift by Pentagon: report

The U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, plans to continue to impose restrictions on travel for those cadets who are not vaccinated, despite measures taken at the Pentagon to remove COVID-19 vaccine mandates, according to reports. Online news organization Just The News reported that military attorney R. Davis Younts said West Point was reimposing a travel ban on unvaccinated cadets, even though the U.S. military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate was lifted. At the same time, Congress is looking to make things right with military personnel who were unable to move up in rank or travel because they were unvaccinated.

Berenson: 44-year-old female vegetarian MSNBC host is hospitalized for almost 10 days for heart inflammation, blames everything but the obvious cause

She doesn’t eat meat, doesn’t smoke, practices yoga, and until her health scare runs seven miles a day three to four times a week. Aside from working too much (But how can she not? What would her viewers do without her?), she is in perfect shape. Gonna live forever, in the words of Liam Gallagher. Her body is a wonderland.  Well, it was a wonderland until late December, when Vossoughian had mysterious aches in her chest for 10 days, culminating in chest and shoulder pain so severe that she wound up in the emergency room. Where she was diagnosed with pericarditis, which was severe enough that she needed a procedure to drain the fluid from the sac around her heart. She was held for four nights before being discharged.

Swanson: Where Did All the Workers Go?

In a November 30, 2022, speech on “Inflation and the Labor Market,” Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell blamed most of the 3.5 million estimated shortfall in the U.S. labor force on premature retirements. He also blamed a large portion – between 280,000 and 680,000 – on “long Covid.” In a footnote, however, Powell acknowledged a far more somber factor: an estimated 400,000 unexpected deaths among working age people. It’s easy to blame these deaths on Covid-19. The virus is of course one significant cause. But it’s not nearly the only cause, especially among young and middle-age workers. We need better government data transparency to make a full assessment. Until then, we can proceed with others who track mortality for a living – life insurance companies. […]  So we dig deeper. If we remove both Covid-19 and unnatural deaths (homicide, suicide, overdose, etc.), we see a dramatic spike of natural, non-Covid-19 deaths among working age people beginning in the spring and summer of 2021. The CDC then stopped publishing the detailed data breaking out these particular categories. But we know this trend continued. In fact, it got much worse. The life insurance companies told us so. On a December 30, 2021, videoconference with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, OneAmerica CEO Scott Davison reported with shock: . . . […]  Ed Dowd, a former BlackRock portfolio manager, points to a crucial peculiarity in his book Cause Unknown. Employed people with group life insurance policies are far healthier than their overall population cohort. They typically die at a significantly lower rate, just 30-40% of the overall population. This is an iron actuarial law. In 2021, however, as you can see in the chart directly above, these employed Americans died at excess rates far higher than their larger pool of less healthy peers.

Fred T.: Bearded drag queen in thong makes vulgar, sexually explicit toast in front of kids at former Texas CHURCH

Really hanging a lantern on the whole evil thing there, don’t you think? At an explicit drag show in Texas, children watched drunken, thong wearing drag queens do strip shows for money in a “community center” that used to be a church, which was being guarded by armed Antifa. I mean just go ahead and print 666 on your forehead, right? Sara Gonzalez went to document the event — billed somehow as drag BINGO — but was kicked out. However the event was in explicably carried on Facebook for anyone to witness them violating the law and endangering minors.

Rinehart: In The War To Destroy Society, Drag Queens Are The Shock Troops

Drag queens pose as family-friendly, old-fashioned entertainment, but there’s a subversive ideology under the pink glitter and hairspray.  […] Journalist Christopher Rufo took a deep dive into what he calls “the real story” behind drag queen culture. We should think of drag queens, he says, as the footsoldiers for an ideology that deconstructs normative human experience, beginning with breaking the binary of male and female. In drag pedagogy, gender differences are invented categories that shackle good people to rigid stereotypes, instruments of oppression to be shattered. […]  We might nurse the hope that our children will get an education, find a husband or a wife, settle down and raise a family, contribute their talents to others. This has been the primary vision of human flourishing and the nexus of strong communities for centuries. It’s just this vision that drag pedagogy seeks to dismantle. The concept of “family” becomes just as fluid and moldable as that of “gender.” […]  The most disturbing goal of drag queen culture is its determination to deconstruct childhood, robbing children of the innocence that protects their maturing process. Drag culture invades this protected space by pushing sexual content on children who, developmentally, would be baking cupcakes or playing soccer.

Blake: When Study Shows Transgender Medicine Hurts Kids, Activists And Media Allies Slant The Science

Dead patients aren’t usually considered a medical success story, but the transgender movement has never shied away from redefining reality to fit its ideology. A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine should be devastating for the transgender narrative, but trans activists and their allies are nonetheless trying to spin it as a success. The study, blandly titled “Psychosocial Functioning in Transgender Youth after 2 Years of Hormones,” had two subjects out of 315 commit suicide, which is not a good result for a treatment that is justified as preventing self-harm. Furthermore, males in the study showed no improvements in “depression and anxiety scores” or “scores for life satisfaction.” If giving female hormones to young men who identify as transgender does not improve their mental health, then there is no reason to keep giving female hormones to young men. […]  Transgender activists have to slant the science in this way because, despite its pretensions, transgender ideology is not scientific. The idea that a child can be born into the wrong body — a boy born into a girl’s body or a girl born into a boy’s body — is a metaphysical or spiritual dogma; there is nothing scientific about it. And though medicine can, to some extent, alter bodies into a facsimile of the other sex, it cannot make a man into a woman or a woman into a man.

Kearns: New feminist chemistry class teaches that science is racist

A recent article published in the Journal of Chemical Education describes the development of a Feminism and Science course at East Carolina University (ECU) that was offered at the university. The course, the authors argue, should serve as a “model” for other educators to learn from, “present[ing] this work as an example of a transformative pedagogical model to dismantle White supremacy in Chemistry.” The article, titled “A Special Topic Class in Chemistry on Feminism and Science as a Tool to Disrupt the Dysconcious Racism in STEM,” argues for a pedagogical framework based on “Critical Race Theory and intersectional feminism.” One of their goals “was to shine light, through this process, [on] how scientific epistemology and culture have strong links with capitalism, enslavement, colonization, and exploitation of female-bodied folks.” Students also learned the definitions of terms such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and systemic racism.

The British pop star has been documenting his apparent transition on social media. The debut of Smith’s latest music video offers fans a graphic depiction of his identity crisis, with the singer fleshing out his sexual fantasies on screen in a display of the kind of radical transgenderism that’s taken over the LGBT movement. Benton: Late Journalist George Neumayr Warned: ‘The Clock On Catholic Civilization Is Nearing Midnight’

Late last week, George Neumayr, author, journalist, and senior editor for the American Spectator became the third high-profile Catholic to die in as many weeks. Neumayr suddenly perished on Thursday, Jan. 19, after contracting malaria in the west African nation of the Ivory Coast, where he was undertaking research for an upcoming project on the Catholic Church in Africa. The year began on a dismal note, with Pope Benedict XVI’s death on Dec. 31. Two weeks later, the conservative Australian Cardinal George Pell unexpectedly succumbed in Rome after a routine hip operation. But if the loss of Benedict after a decade of frailty and seclusion was deeply upsetting, and if Pell’s sudden death, days after he authored a stern rebuke of the Vatican’s neo-Marxist interpretation of faith and morals, was dismaying, Neumayr’s premature demise was distinctly unsettling. All three — pope, cardinal, and journalist — have bequeathed a message of urgency, nay emergency, regarding the perilous road the church is treading, a warning that should not be buried with them.

Peterson: Here’s The Main Problem With Kids These Days

The only America young adults have ever known is a regime of steadily increasing tyranny and suffocating disappointment. It can be difficult, for those who remember the high-water mark of American power, to understand the cramped cynicism or autocratic wokeness of younger generations. But bridging this chasm between generational “lived experiences” and squarely facing the landscape of reality is an existential necessity for all who wish to save America. The America that shaped all of us for whom the fall of the Iron Curtain marked the triumph of “Truth, Justice, and the American Way” — to borrow a phrase from Superman — is dead and gone. The culture that created Superman and his motto is no more. And those of us who remember where we were when the Berlin Wall came down experienced a kind of liberty and optimism that has been lost for decades. […]  It should be no surprise, then, if we consider the ever-increasing tyranny of the last two decades, that young people embrace the woke power hierarchies in which they have been raised, or rebel in nihilistic ways. The walls have always been closing in on their hopes and dreams.

Greenfield: Migrants Occupy $288 a Night NYC Hotel, Refuse to Leave

If only we had some sort of, I don’t know, wall or something to keep vast numbers of people from just walking into America and then announcing that they don’t want to leave. And once they’ve invaded the country, what’s the big deal about invading a hotel? Mayor Eric Adams appears to have another immigration crisis on his hands as single men lodged at a Midtown hotel have been reluctant to move to a new facility at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The mayor wants to use the hotel for families. […]  If only someone could have predicted that migrants who don’t respect borders, might not respect private property either.

Smythe: Researchers Claim They’ve Deciphered An Ancient Tablet That Confirms A Biblical Narrative

Two French scholars claimed to have deciphered the Mesha Stele in early January, revealing a reference to the “House of David” well before Jesus Christ walked our Earth. The Mesha Stele, or Moabite Stone, is an ancient basalt rock tablet discovered in 1868 that dates back to at least the 9th century BC, according to World History. After some significant social upheaval at the location of its discovery, at least the last five lines on the stone were broken, so it was unclear how the narrative ended. Shortly before the Mesha Stele was damaged, a paper-mache impression (known as a paper squeeze) was made of the inscription, which has now been used in the latest analysis.

Smythe: US Surgeon General Suggests Age Restrictions For Social Media

U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said Sunday he believes 13-year-olds should not be using social media platforms. Murthy said that at 13 years old, children are still “developing their identity,” adding to an increasing amount of evidence that social media is inherently harmful for adolescents, CNN reported. Meta (Facebook), Twitter and a wealth of other platforms currently allow young teenagers to join their platforms. […]  “If parents can band together and say, you know, as a group, we’re not going to allow our kids to use social media until 16 or 17 or 18 or whatever age they choose, that’s a much more effective strategy in making sure your kids don’t get exposed to harm early,” he said.

Wilson: Dr Jordan B Peterson Tells Joe Rogan Of Plan For Alternative To World Economic Forum

Dr Jordan B Peterson laid out his plan to take on the globalists on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” telling the podcast king in an extended interview posted Saturday that he is considering starting a populist alternative to the World Economic Forum. Peterson told Rogan that he will be gathering a consortium this October/November in London as a kind of rival to the WEF. This group will discuss six questions pertaining to global philosophy and policy. While this first conference will be invite-only, it will be public, and Peterson noted that if successful, he would like to expand yearly. Some of the ideas — which are aimed at providing an “alternative vision of the future … an alternative to that kind of apocalyptic narrative that’s being put forward, at least implicitly, by organizations like the WEF” — are as follows: . . .  […]  “I’ve been trying to understand the driving ideas underneath this globalist utopian tyranny that seems to be developing from the top-down, and I think it’s driven at least in part by  . . . […]  Peterson blasted the progressive elites, who hint darkly at population controls and push policies that make food and energy expensive for the world’s poor.

Canada is responsible for more organ transplants from its medical assistance in dying (MAiD) program than any other country in the world that offers this practice, according to a study published in the American Journal of Transplantation. This study is the first time that organ transplants from assisted suicide patients are being analyzed, as the practice of euthanizing members of the population increases. The data for this study was gathered in 2021 and published last year.

Bawer: The Sumter Gambit

Robert Spencer reveals how the Left is trying to foment a civil war. From birth, the United States was a house divided. Slavery had existed always, everywhere; but America was different – founded on a set of noble ideas with which the institution of slavery was utterly at odds. Still, in order to establish – and then to preserve – a union that was half slave and half free, America’s leaders repeatedly put off the day of reckoning. Jefferson condemned slavery in a draft passage of the Declaration of Independence, only to take it out to ensure passage. The Constitution’s framers dealt with the issue by concocting the three-fifths compromise. In 1820, the Missouri Compromise balanced the admission of slave Missouri with that of free Maine; the Compromise of 1850 admitted free California but also introduced the Fugitive Slave Act, compelling the return of escaped slaves to their owners. Along the way, some events upset the constant, desperate attempts at balance. […] And so it was war. The longstanding divisions had finally split the house in two. Today, argues Spencer, America is in a not dissimilar fix – although, in his estimation, the divisions now are even wider. In 1861, North and South shared “a common culture, a common religion, a common heritage, and a common outlook”; today, left and right barely share “a common language.” […]  He also compares Biden’s speech to one given by Hitler on March 23, 1933, in support of a piece of legislation called the Enabling Act. Of course, we’re never supposed to compare anyone to Hitler. Leo Strauss called it reductio ad hitlerum. But why is this so verboten? There have been tyrants as terrible as Hitler in the past – in the twentieth century alone we had Stalin and Mao – and there will be terrible ones in the future. If an American president stands in front of a blood-red background, with Marines at attention behind him, and demonizes his political opponents in fiery language that’s eerily reminiscent of a specific Hitler speech, is it unreasonable to note the similarity?
