Will Ripley CNN’ senior national correspondent: Chinese scientists are examining a potential weakness in the US missile defense system. According to the Chinese study, a North Korean missile could reach the US in 33 minutes if the US fails to intercept it.

Christian Adams contributor to The Federalist: Only Americans should be voting in our elections. This is an issue with strong bipartisan support. The real foreign interference in our elections happens when we allow foreign nationals to vote in them. We need to stop allowing people who can leave our country at any moment to have a say in its future.

Allan J. Feifer contributor to American Thinker: Freedom today is defined by what some Democrats decide it to be.  You can riot in American streets almost without consequence, but demand change at our Capitol, and you will be imprisoned and the key thrown away.  How does this square in our “free” country?

Samule Mangold-Lenett contributor to The Federalist: Accusing people and institutions of “racism” had lost its utility due to rhetorical inflation, and the era of “systemic white supremacy” had begun.

Christopher Rufo Substack: White liberals are the most woke group in America, but for the Reddit-tier race hustlers “woke” now means “the n-word.”

Lifson: Greta Thunberg quietly deletes tweet from 5 years ago predicting only 5 years left to save us from climate apocalypse … and Tucker pounces

One of the more delightful aspects of being a dissident from the absurd apocalyptic climate doom cult is the ability to laugh at the decades’ worth of failed, yet quite specific predictions of disaster from purported “experts” that the media has gleefully trumpeted. The track record of the failure of previous predictions matters not in the least, as if mass amnesia has infected not just the media, but government, academia, and the corporate world. […]  These are the questions that Tucker Carlson took up in the first quarter hour of his top-rated cable news commentary last night. The large number of clips showing absurd, hysterical, predictions that are nonsense was hilarious.[…]  If you missed it, here is the entire segment, via Fox News: . . .

Hamilton: Exclusive — Apple Removes Donald Trump’s Song with J6 Prison Choir from iTunes

. . . the song was temporarily removed from iTunes for a period of hours on Thursday, consequently removing the song from its number one position on the charts, Patel told Breitbart News. Patel, who served as a national security official during the Trump administration, played an integral role in producing “Justice For All.” A senior Apple Music representative told Patel the song’s removal was due to a “miscommunication.” […]  Patel noted the song’s charitable aspect and told Breitbart News that “If we were raising money for Ukraine,” the song would not have been removed. […]  As of Thursday evening, the song is back on the iTunes platform for purchase but has not reclaimed its spot at number one on the charts. Currently, the number one song on the iTunes chart is “Trump Won” by Natasha Owens.

(A win for 2A) Whedon: Kentucky Republicans send Second Amendment sanctuary bill to governor’s desk

The Kentucky Senate approved a measure this week that would bar state and local law enforcement from enforcing any federal bans on firearms and their related accessories. The upper chamber approved the measure in a 27-9 vote, The Hill reported. The state House gave its approval, 78-19, in February and the legislation now heads to the desk of Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear. It is unclear whether he intends to sign it into law, though Republicans hold veto-proof majorities in both chambers of the legislature, as Ballotpedia notes.

McFarland: Feds Say Wyoming Man Has No Right To Make His Own Machine Gun

After a Wapiti man sued the federal government for the right to build his own machine gun, the federal government Monday said the Second Amendment doesn’t allow citizens to own machine guns. Jake Stanley DeWilde in January sued U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF), saying the government wrongfully denied his application to build his own M16 machine gun and a federal ban on such weapons is unconstitutional. ‘Dangerous And Unusual’  The federal government in its Monday filing says that courts have consistently ruled that the Second Amendment protects weapons in “common use” but does not protect “dangerous and unusual weapons.” The U.S. Supreme Court has specifically singled out M16 rifles as dangerous and unusual, the counterclaim says.

Cleveland: DOD Pays Media-Rating Scammers To Create Propaganda And Censorship Tech For U.S. Government

The Department of Defense is grooming for-profit, media-rating grifters to develop AI censorship technology for the U.S. government, an investigation by The Federalist reveals. Open-source research reveals this troubling development is driving the warp-speed growth of the Censorship-Industrial Complex—and several other concerning details. Following last week’s congressional hearings on the Censorship-Industrial Complex, attention focused on the media-ratings giant NewsGuard and its relationship with the DOD after the company’s CEO declared it is not “government-funded.” But, as The Federalist reported, in 2020 NewsGuard received a $25,000 award from the federal government to conduct a pilot study, after winning the COVID-19 Disinformation Challenge. The prize package included the opportunity to learn the ropes of profiteering by participating in a “Government Contracting 101 session” and a “Small Business Innovation Research (SBIRC) crash course.” […]  The managing director of the “accelerator program” declared, “In this new age of cyberwarfare and social manipulation, media monitoring, detection, and mitigation of misinformation operations is becoming more important than bombs and bullets,” stressing “PeakMetrics provides a unique monitoring and measuring tool to detect misinformation campaigns before they cause harm.” […]  While we don’t know fully what the DOD intends to do with the NewsGuard and PeakMetrics technology, we do know the government has a history of silencing inconvenient speech by branding it “disinformation”—even when it is true and even if it is Americans expressing their views.

A Haunting Anniversary

Three years ago this week, our vibrant, noisy country went silent. Or, I should say, it was silenced. Businesses didn’t shutter due to a sudden economic crash—although one quickly followed—and highways weren’t empty due to a global fuel shortage. Schools didn’t close because of a nationwide teacher’s strike; parents and children didn’t hunker down in separate rooms of the same house over a nasty family fight. No, it was a man-made disaster the likes of which can only be compared to war. On March 16, 2020, President Donald Trump and his Coronavirus Task Force announced the infamous “15 Days to Slow the Spread.” For the first time in modern history, the free world, or so it was considered at the time, resorted to medieval methods to stop the unstoppable transmission of a novel contagion. Had there been enough time to farm a massive supply of leeches, the nation’s top government officials probably would have recommended bloodletting, too. “The new recommendations are simple to follow but will have a resounding impact on public health,” the official White House announcement read. “While the President leads a nationwide response, bringing together government resources and private-sector ingenuity, every American can help slow the virus’ spread and keep our most high-risk populations safe.” It is a day, and a decision, that will live in infamy. Trump, of course, is not solely responsible; Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx shrewdly won the affection and trust of the American people early on, so any move contrary to their counsel would have created an even bigger crisis in the White House.

Solomon: As COVID origin secrets near declassification, Wuhan lab’s ties to China military burst into focus

s President Joe Biden weighs whether to sign a law passed unanimously by Congress to declassify U.S. intelligence on the origins of the COVID-19 virus, new evidence has emerged that the State Department and National Institutes of Health routed at least $1.7 million in tax dollars to a Wuhan virology lab despite evidence it was tied to the Chinese military — and possibly the communist nation’s bioweapons program — according to government documents reviewed by Just the News. The United States first declared in a 2005 State Department document that communist China maintained an offensive biological weapons program in violation of its treaty commitments and that it was run in part by an arm of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS). That report specifically cited the AMMS’ Fifth Institute as the epicenter of the country’s bioweapons program.

Adams: Letting Noncitizens Vote In U.S. Elections Is Foreign Interference

This week, a law went into effect allowing foreign nationals — here legally or illegally — to vote in D.C. municipal elections. The only requirement other than age to vote in D.C. elections now is living in the District of Columbia for 30 days. Most alarming about this new law is the foreign interference this law invites into the elections in our nation’s capital. Now, foreign nationals working at Russian, Chinese, and other embassies can vote in American elections. So much for concerns about foreign influence in American elections that was so en vogue in 2016.

Hutzler: Treasury Secretary Yellen testifies ‘banking system is sound’

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told Congress on Thursday the U.S. “banking system is sound” after two bank failures stirred economic fears. Yellen, who testified before the Senate Finance Committee about President Joe Biden’s proposed budget, began her remarks by addressing the abrupt collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in California and Signature Bank in New York. “I can reassure the members of the committee that our banking system remains sound, and that Americans can feel confident that their deposits will be there when they need them,” she said. “This week’s actions demonstrate our resolute commitment to ensure that depositors’ savings remain safe.”

Greenfield: Gen. Milley Won’t Stop Russia From Retrieving U.S. Drone Wreckage

The profiles in courage just keep coming. […]  Gen. Milley is on the case though. Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a Pentagon briefing that the drone sank into water that’s 4,000-5,000 feet deep, making its recovery very difficult. “It probably broke up. There’s probably not a lot to recover, frankly,” Milley said. “As far as the loss of anything of sensitive intelligence, etc., as normal we would take and we did take mitigating measures, so we’re quite confident that whatever was of value is no longer of value.” Much like everything we left behind in Afghanistan and that drone the Iranians captured under Obama.

Klein: Mexico’s President Insults the U.S. – While Allowing the Cartels to Thrive

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador loves President Joe Biden. But Obrador, the left-wing progressive leader of his narco-state, regularly insults the United States, except when he is angling for amnesty to be granted to the millions of illegal immigrants already living in the U.S.  “You are the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not built even one meter of wall,” Mexico’s President Obrador told President Biden at the North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City last January. “And we thank you for that, sir, although some might not like it, although the conservatives don’t like it.” At the same meeting President Obrador lobbied President Biden to insist that Congress “regularize migration situations” for “millions of Mexicans” already in the United States. “Regularize” is a euphemism for “amnesty.” President Obrador portrayed these illegal immigrants as contributors “to the development of that great nation, which is the United States of America.”  In reality, many illegal immigrants are draining public funds and resources, which undermines the quality of public services available to Americans. […]  President Obrador’s sweet-talk about the United States did not last very long. During the weeks that followed he proceeded to insult the United States and threaten to interfere in this country’s elections.

Waldman: In Health Care, Freedom Is The Biggest Shortage

The news is filled with stories about a U.S. health care system “plagued with shortages” of money for care, access to care, and doctor time. What they do not mention is the shortage of freedom. Americans are not free to select their preferred physician or choose the medicines they take into their bodies. Government bureaucrats, not physicians on the scene, triage critically ill patients based on “crisis standards of care”: non-physicians applying a checklist to decide who will live and who will die. Patients cannot choose who will operate on them, where, when, or even if. And of course, Americans cannot decide how to spend their health-care dollars — nameless, faceless bureaucrats do that. This is medical tyranny. Doctors are equally un-free. Your assigned physician (assuming there is one) does not choose your medications, a pharmacy benefits management (PBM) program does. Operations are performed where the health plan instructs, and by whom they choose. Providers for Medicare and Medicaid patients must simply accept the federal payment (“reimbursement”) schedule. […]  Health-care systems exist to make and keep people healthy, and to save lives through timely medical care. The best demonstration of system failure is death by queue: dying waiting in line for technically possible care that is not provided in time, measured by wait times. Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed, the average maximum to see a primary care doctor was 99 days. After the ACA, wait time had increased to 122 days. […]  There are three reasons for inaccessible medical care, attributable to federal medical tyranny. First is . . .

Feifer: ESG Will Bankrupt You — Financially and Morally

Do you believe in cautionary tales or think most things happen without warning?  Your answer might reveal how your psyche processes information to which you are exposed.  Everything you need to make good decisions is readily available, depending upon which sources you rely.

Recently publicized topics should set your spidey senses twitching: Silicon Valley Bank suffers an abrupt collapse. Joe Biden resurrects the all-but-dead Willow Creek Oil project.  Biden’s Energy Secretary praises China’s work on climate change. The president delivers his vision for his FY 2024 budget, with a $6.9 trillion price tag. 40,000 hours of security footage inside the Capitol on January 6th are released to the public, initially through Tucker Carlson. All of these bullets connect — ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ideology permeates everything, and it will cost us all.  You’ll understand who wins and who will lose when ESG is fully implemented.  ESG is intended to replace the profit motive for large companies with something more akin to a social conscience.  What could go wrong?

Nelson: Dr. Rachel Levine says changing kids’ genders will soon be fully embraced: ‘Wheels will turn on this’

Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Rachel Levine promised that medically changing kids’ genders will soon be normalized. Levine praised the “gender-affirming care” at the Pediatric Grand Rounds session at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Levine was invited to speak at the event about the Florida Parental Rights in Education law and the political implications of gender reassignment surgery taking place at children’s hospitals. Levine also said gender-affirming care for minors had the “highest support” of the Biden administration.

Mangold-Lenett: ‘Woke’ Effectively Describes The Left’s Insanity, And That’s Why They Hate When You Say It

Woke-ism is intentionally ambiguous. So when you describe it, that offends those who wish for its intentions to remain murky. When was the last time you were called racist? When was the last time you actually cared about being called racist? Odds are you get called it quite often and care (or should care) about being called it very little. That’s because lobbing accusations of racial bigotry at anyone who gets in their way is second nature for the left. So when people stopped taking these accusations seriously — realizing it is simply impossible for everything to be racist — the left began decrying “white supremacy,” semantically invoking Nazism. When accusations of racism failed to coerce enough action, the left moved on to a pejorative with far worse aesthetics while maintaining the same message. Accusing people and institutions of “racism” had lost its utility due to rhetorical inflation, and the era of “systemic white supremacy” had begun. […]  What Is Woke?  The term started to increase in prevalence in the early-to-mid-2010s back when “Black Lives Matter” referred to a hashtag, not an organization, and when the hot-button social issue du jour was the legalization of homosexual marriage. […]  Woke-ism is simultaneously a persistent ideological framework and a general inclination — it depends on the person or institution in question at the time. But both rely upon a consistent smorgasbord of Marxian dialectics and ideological accouterment — gender theory, critical race theory, et al. — that seeks to usurp the ideals of the American founding and impose contemporary whims.

Mercola: Vitamin D Reduces Cancer Deaths

There’s good news for those of you who have taken the proactive step to make sure you’re getting enough vitamin D. Several recent studies demonstrate vitamin D can significantly lower your cancer risk, both in terms of preventing cancer and in the treatment of cancer. In the first of these studies, 1 , 2 which included 25,871 patients, vitamin D supplementation was found to reduce the risk for metastatic cancer and death by 17 percent. The risk was reduced by as much as 38 percent among those who also maintained a healthy weight. This was a really poorly done study as they only gave participants 2,000 IUs a day and never measured their blood levels. Had there been no improvement, I would not have been surprised, but the fact is it still reduced metastatic cancer and death by 17 percent, and they found significant benefit among those who were not obese. This is pretty extraordinary but not as good as epidemiological studies that show a 50 percent to even 78 percent reduction in people who are vitamin D sufficient, as suggested in a study further below.

Chalk: How The False Promises Of The Sexual Revolution Created A New Religion

Instead of reducing abortion, out-of-wedlock births, divorce, and fatherlessness, it accelerated them. Eberstadt cites a 2015 study that found contraception encourages sexual encounters and relationships that would not have happened without it.  […]  Contraception, as much as it has “empowered” women to delay or avoid pregnancy, has also enabled men to avoid the responsibilities of fatherhood through what sociologist Mark Regnerus called “Cheap Sex” in his 2017 book. Economist Timothy Reichart in 2010 examined data from the 1960s onward that showed “the contraceptive revolution has resulted in a massive redistribution of wealth and power from women and children to men.” How? By creating a “prisoner’s dilemma” in which women are encouraged to “enter the sex market and remain there for as long as possible,” even though the ultimate result of this will be less happiness for them, as well as increasing the likelihood of divorce, infidelity, and the desire for abortion.

Revolver.news: Feminism is deeply rooted in Satanism and the occult…

When you think of “feminism” what image comes to mind? For most people it’s an angry, hulking woman with short, choppy multi-colored hair, facial piercings, and a screeching voice that could stop Satan dead in his tracks. And truthfully, they wouldn’t be too far off with that description…

Feminism certainly isn’t a “soft, loving” movement by any stretch of the imagination. On the contrary, it’s dark, angry, and extremely toxic. And if you’ve ever wondered why that is, keep reading… The reason feminism is so vile and hateful is because, going back centuries, the movement itself has always been steeped in Satanism and the occult. That explains a lot, doesn’t it? In the US, signs of Satanism and the occult can be traced back to the 1680s, and it probably won’t surprise you to learn that the first taste of this demonic stuff started in New York. As the dots begin to line up from there, a demonic pattern can be easily and factually traced right to the heart of feminism and liberalism, as well. And as time went on, the connection between feminism and the occult and Satan got even closer and more intimate, especially when the CIA stepped in. Again, how fitting… Supported by both the Rockefellers and the CIA, feminism, being directly connected to Marxism, is at root Satanic.

Sweet: Big banks create $30B rescue package for First Republic

Eleven of the biggest U.S. banks Thursday announced a $30 billion rescue package for First Republic Bank in an effort to prevent it from becoming the third to fail in less than a week and head off a broader banking crisis. San Francisco-based First Republic serves a similar clientele as Silicon Valley Bank, which failed last week after depositors withdrew about $40 billion in a matter of hours. New York’s Signature Bank was shuttered on Sunday. It appears that First Republic, which had deposits totaling $176.4 billion as of Dec. 31, was facing similar issues.
