Sundance contributor to The Last Refuge: Ignore the prior precedent of Attorney General Eric Holder refusing to appear before Congress and give testimony; the rules are different for Trump Republicans. Peter Navarro refused to testify to the J6 committee. The committee held Navarro in contempt of Congress; they forwarded the case to the corrupt Merrick Garland Dept of Justice. The DOJ pursued the case against Navarro, and he was convicted today of two counts of contempt of Congress by a DC jury.
J.B. Shurk contributor to American Thinker: Meanwhile, the Republican Wing of the Uniparty sits back and says little, or worse, it condones the government’s ongoing campaign of intimidation and incarceration. If Republicans who hold power in D.C. were truly committed to the principles of America’s founding, they would have spent the last three years vehemently condemning the police State’s persecution of J6 protesters, the Deep State’s continued efforts to destroy Donald Trump, and the Biden regime’s portrayal of MAGA voters as “disloyal” Americans. Instead of erecting a statue in honor of veteran Ashli Babbitt, the Uniparty promotes her killer. Then, for good measure, it sends a man dressed as President George Washington to prison. If that doesn’t symbolize the Republic’s impending doom, what does?
Willie Wilson Chicago business owner: Political leaders passed sanctuary laws without fully appreciating the plans and resources needed to take care of migrants and asylum-seekers. These laws appear to be in conflict with the U.S. Constitution and encourage illegal immigration. We are a nation of laws, and directing law enforcement to ignore immigration laws will erode our democracy. According to FAIR, the cost of illegal immigration to U.S. taxpayers has reached $115.6 billion, a 30% increase over five years. I write this commentary to make those comfortable with open borders uncomfortable. The poem at the base of the Statute of Liberty reads in part: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” Perhaps we should add “until resources run out.”

I hope there are enough of us to exact a terrible toll on the next fascist, communist, or progressive who thinks so little of you and so much of himself and his ideas. You will decide whether to go along quietly or exact revenge on those destroyers. There is nowhere for you to hide. Cars and cattle first, then they’ll come for what’s left.
Llyod Billingsley contributor to Frontpage Magazine: In its ongoing divide-and-con game, the left has pitted peasants against nobles, workers against bosses, blacks against whites, Hispanics against “Anglos,” and so forth. The trans revolution arrays those who, like people though the ages, recognize biological and scientific reality against those who deny it. Beyond boilerplate charges of “transphobia,” the trans types now imagine that they are victims of “genocide,” a justification for deadly violence against innocents, even children.

Solomon: Europeans latest to provide evidence undercutting Joe Biden story about firing Ukrainian prosecutor
Biden’s story has been that he threatened to withhold loan to Ukraine only because prosecutor Shokin was not meeting anti-corruption standards. His own State Dep’t said otherwise, now evidence shows that the EU concluded Shokin had met ‘benchmarks’ on anti-corruption reforms.
Johnson: HUNTER BIDEN TESTIFIES
Hunter Biden has been deposed by counsel for John Paul Mac Isaac in the defamation lawsuit brought by Mac Isaac that includes a counterclaim by Biden. The best defense is sometimes a good offense, but I doubt that the adage applies in this case. Biden has apparently denied under oath that he left his infamous laptop with Mac Isaac or that the infamous laptop is in fact his. Miranda Devine — who else? — has taken a look at motion papers that quote the deposition transcript: Hunter Biden testified recently that he was embarrassed by “offensive” content published from his laptop after he dropped it off for repair at The Mac Shop in Wilmington, Delaware on April 12, 2019 – but still denies that the laptop or its contents are his. The First Son provided confusing and often contradictory testimony under oath on June 29 during a six hour deposition related to a defamation action brought by John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the now defunct computer repair shop, who accuses Hunter of falsely insisting the laptop was not his, or was stolen, or that his information was hacked. Hunter is countersuing Mac Isaac, accusing him of illegally distributing his personal data, and invading his privacy. […] Devine follows up with a set of bullet points summarizing Biden’s testimony. You can’t count the lies without a scorecard. She recounts that Biden: . . .
Whedon: Delaware PC repair shop owner seeks dismissal of Hunter Biden counterclaims
Former Delaware PC repair shop owner John Paul Mac Isaac has asked a state court to dismiss claims against him from Hunter Biden levied in response to a defamation suit that he brought against the first son. In a Thursday filing obtained by Just the News, Mac Isaac’s legal team asserted that Biden’s counterclaim “seeks to impose liability” on Mac Isaac “for performing services that Biden hired him to do” and for providing information recovered from his laptop to law enforcement and the president of the United States.
TYRANNY IN THE NAME OF CLIMATE DOOM MYTH: GLOBALIST POLITICIANS & BIG BUSINESS ACCUMULATE MORE POWER & CONTROL
(Don’t miss reading ) Moore, PhD: The Positive Impact of Human CO2 Emissions on the Survival of Life on Earth
Human emissions of CO₂ have restored a balance to the global carbon cycle, thereby ensuring the long-term continuation of life on Earth This study looks at the positive environmental effects of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, a topic which has been well established in the scientific literature but which is far too often ignored in the current discussions about climate change policy. All life is carbon based and the primary source of this carbon is the CO₂ in the global atmosphere and hydrosphere. As recently as 18,000 years ago, at the height of the most recent major glaciation, atmospheric CO₂ dipped to its lowest level in recorded history at 180 ppm, low enough to stunt plant growth. This is only 30 ppm above a level that would result in the death of plants due to CO₂ starvation. It is calculated that if the decline in CO₂ levels were to continue at the same rate as it has over the past 140 million years, life on Earth would begin to die as soon as two million years from now and would slowly perish almost entirely as carbon continued to be lost to the deep ocean sediments. The combustion of fossil fuels for energy to power human civilization has reversed the downward trend in CO₂ and promises to bring it back to levels that will foster a considerable increase in the growth rate and biomass of plants, including food crops and trees. Human emissions of CO₂ have restored a balance to the global carbon cycle, thereby ensuring the long-term continuation of life on Earth. This extremely positive aspect of human CO₂ emissions must be weighed against the unproven hypothesis that human CO₂ emissions will cause a catastrophic warming of the climate in coming years. The one-sided political treatment of CO₂ as a pollutant that should be radically reduced must be corrected in light of the indisputable scientific evidence that it is essential to life on Earth.

Mitchell Jr.: The Earth Has No Average Temperature
Frequently, I read where a politician like John Kerry; Al Gore; Joe Biden; or António Guterres, the secretary general of the U.N., has stated: “We must keep the increase of the average temperature of the Earth to 1.5°C or less; it has already risen 1.1°C since the beginning of the industrial age.” The implication of such a statement is that the Earth is on a path to thermal destruction if we humans don’t take action to save the planet. Aside from exhibiting the height of man’s hubris to think that we could control any basic aspect of nature; such a statement demonstrates either a profound ignorance about fundamental physics or an intent to deceive. I suspect that it is both. The concept of an average temperature of the Earth is a figment of the climate scientist’s imagination, conjured up to try to prove a fraudulent hypothesis. The Earth has no average temperature; the temperature of the Earth is different at every point in time and space. The Earth is never in thermal equilibrium. It should be apparent to anyone that if you add two temperatures together and average them, you get a meaningless number. A calculation of similar value would be to determine the average ZIP code in the United States to locate the average American city (49663 — Manton, Mich., pop. 1,324).

Kirsch: US Nursing home data shows clearly that the COVID vaccines were a disaster for the elderly; they increased the risk of dying from COVID
I’m going to drill into more detail on this analysis of the CDC “gold standard” database which shows that the vaccines were a huge failure. There is no way to put a positive spin on this. The US Nursing Home data is the “gold-standard“ record level data for what happened in nursing homes after the COVID vaccine rolled out. The signal from this data is clear and unambiguous: both the primary series and booster COVID vaccines increased the risk of death from COVID. The bivalent vaccines did absolutely nothing for the elderly (at least it didn’t make things worse, but it didn’t make things better). […] The key point is that, in aggregate, when compared to pre-vax infection fatality rates, the odds of death climbed for months after the vaccines were delivered when they were “supposed to” have fallen like a rock. In particular the odds of death ( deaths from covid:survivors from COVID) increased post-vaccine. So did the absolute risk reduction; it went south which means the vaccines increased your risk of death. In short, the vaccine made things worse. The reference point chosen (the week prior to vaccine rollout) is immaterial; the slopes all went the wrong way. There is no doubt about this. This is a huge failure of the vaccine.
BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA’S AMERICA LAST REGIME: THE FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION OF FOREIGN POLICY
Fleitz: New Biden Nuke Deal is a Farce and Emboldens Iran
A new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency disproves the Biden Administration’s attempts to dismiss the danger of the secret agreement and to falsely portray it as a deal that halted Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. Iran also reportedly agreed under this deal to cooperate with IAEA investigations of its nuclear program. Iran is allowed to keep its nuclear infrastructure under the agreement, including advanced uranium centrifuges, and is permitted to continue to develop this technology. Linked to the agreement is a U.S.-Iran prisoner swap under which Iran received $6 billion in sanctions relief in exchange for releasing five innocent Americans imprisoned in Iran. The prisoner swap was widely criticized as the U.S. paying ransom to free Americans held hostage by Iran. The five Americans were released from prison and placed under house arrest in Iran on August 10. Negotiations to allow them to leave the country are continuing. To circumvent congressional oversight of this dangerous deal, it was negotiated as a set of unwritten “understandings” and the Biden administration has publicly denied its existence. But at the same time, Biden officials have privately spun the deal to selected reporters as a diplomatic victory by claiming it suspended Iran’s nuclear weapons program because Tehran agreed not to produce weapons-grade uranium. This week, Biden administration officials attempted to convince reporters that a new International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report proves this because Iran is producing less near-weapons-grade 60% enriched uranium due to their diplomatic efforts. This is a clever distortion of the IAEA report.
Greenfield: ‘Palestinian’ Terror Leader Funded by Biden Defends Hitler, Holocaust
The Biden administration restarted the funding pipeline to Abbas which has led to the murder of Jews. Last year, Biden met with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas and boasted that, “I reversed the policies of my predecessor and resumed aid to the Palestinians — more than a half a billion dollars in 2021.” The number of terror victims fell every year Trump was in office, from 15 in 2017, to 12 in 2018, 10 in 2019 and then only 3 in 2020. And the number of terror victims shot up every year Biden was in office from 17 in 2021, to 31 in 2022, and there is every sign that 2023 will top that. Biden’s half a billion dollars helped fuel a massive surge in Islamic terrorism. While the money is officially listed as humanitarian aid, injecting money into terror zones funds terrorism. The Palestinian Authority maintains a ‘pay-to-slay’ program which pays salaries to terrorists based on the lengths of their prison sentences. That means successful killers can earn $3,000 a month in a part of the world where the average salary is around $700 a month. It’s five times more profitable to be a terrorist than a teacher. That’s the price of Batsheva’s life and that is what the Biden administration has been paying for.

Greenfield: Biden Admin May Order Illegal Migrants to Stay in Red States, Not To Go To Blue States
Mayors from New York City, D.C., Chicago and other blue areas have been wailing that they’re now border states overrun by illegal migrants. So with due deliberation, the Biden administration has decided that it’s going to keep the border open, but make the invaders stay where they’re supposed to implement demographic change and turn a big red state a whole other shade of blue. Texas has been busing illegal aliens to New York City and other places and while that policy has attracted a lot of attention from both sides, the reality is that the majority of illegal aliens aren’t looking to stay at a Texas bus station. They want to go to the places they’ve heard about, like Manhattan, where they will be put up in luxury hotels. The Biden administration will move to end the busing, but also stop the illegals from going where they want to.
Sundance: Biden Cancels Previously Issued ANWR Oil and Gas Leases in Alaska
24 hours before Joe Biden announced he was cancelling all previously issued oil and gas leases in Alaska’s ANWR region, Saudi Arabia and Russia announced oil production limits would continue. Oil prices spiked near $100/bbl and then Joe Biden amplifies the problem by cancelling previously sold oil and gas leases. There’s no other way to look at the timing here, other than to accept this is Joe Biden intentionally driving up the cost of domestic energy in the U.S. and creating as much pain as possible.
Hazard: US Oil and Gas Association pres calls Jean-Pierre ‘Baghdad Barbie’ for lying about gas price policy
resident of the U.S. Oil and Gas Association Tim Stewart referred to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as “Baghdad Barbie” for saying that the Biden administration is taking steps to lower gas prices. “She’s just sort of a Baghdad Barbie, isn’t she?” Stewart said on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast. “So I think our response is, ‘Yeah. You show us that list of the actions you’re taking to lower gas prices, and we’ll show you our list of things that you have taken to increase gasoline prices.'” Two of the major criticisms of the Biden administration have been high inflation and high gas prices, with gas being as much as $5.35 in states like California according to AAA.
(The goal is to sever the parent-child bond) LUKAS & LANGER: People Rejected Key Part Of Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’. Now He’s Sneaking It Through The Back Door
Last week, the deadline passed to submit comments about proposed new rules governing a childcare grant program. Who cares, right? You didn’t read about it in the media, because it sounds about as interesting as drying paint. Yet that’s exactly what the administration and its allies want. They don’t want the people to pay attention to major changes being made to the infrastructure of American society. That’s because if people were paying attention, they would reject these rules and the administration’s vision for America. We know it would be rejected, because it was rejected. […] The proposed federal intrusion in child care was so unpopular that those measures were removed even before the rest of the bill collapsed. Senator Elizabeth Warren pitched a similar vision for our nation’s childcare system, including the 7% payment cap, during her presidential primary campaign in 2019. That proposal had no more appeal than her candidacy. Consistent rejection by the people and their representatives, however, doesn’t deter this administration from imposing its agenda on the country. On July 17, in the midst of summer when most people are too busy to focus on the machinations of Washington bureaucracies, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families quietly proposed new rules for the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), the largest federal grant program to the states for child care. […] Most disturbingly, with the government providing childcare centers with a growing share of their income, daycare providers will become more interested in providing services that appeal to the values and priorities of those bureaucracies—not to parents.

Jipping & Aldrich: Massachusetts Pushes Gender Ideology Over Finding Homes for Foster Kids
Religious freedom, Congress said unanimously in 1998, “undergirds the very origin and existence of the United States.” Today, however, an obsession with gender ideology is driving governments to ignore the First Amendment, defy clear Supreme Court precedent, and even violate their own laws and regulations to root out those with the “wrong” religious views about sexuality. This bigotry not only violates fundamental rights, but it also puts vulnerable children at risk. During the 2021-22 fiscal year, more than 9,700 children were placed in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, which had already acknowledged a serious lack of both foster families and group homes. While DCF does not publish an official number, reports began to emerge that abused and neglected children removed from their homes who had no place to stay ended up sleeping in social workers’ offices, sometimes for nights at a time. Other foster children were forced to stay in hospitals or emergency rooms because no other placements were available.
Piper: School district claims gender identity is ‘medical’ to hide LGBTQ club advisors’ identities
Rhode Island’s biggest school district is refusing to name the adult advisors to its LGBTQ student clubs, claiming the parent activist seeking their identities posted “medical information” about the primary subject of the public records request. That medical information is the gender identity of Aarav Sundaresh, Providence Public Schools director of equity and belonging, a biological woman who has spoken publicly about identifying as a man. The district even identifies Sundaresh as a “founding Core Collective member for the National Trans Educators Network.” Nicole Solas, a parent and lawyer, is now demanding that Providence deputy city solicitor Charles Ruggerio, who is representing the district, face professional sanctions for “wilfully [sic] and knowingly lying” to Attorney General Peter Neronha about Solas, also a lawyer, “doxing” Sundaresh. Solis denies doxxing, arguing her statements were protected by free-speech.
[…] “The identities of all adults volunteering or working in public school should not be a government secret,” Solas wrote. “And no publicly paid attorney should ever try to suppress the First Amendment rights of the citizens who pay him.” Another high-profile controversy over gender identity and school transparency is brewing in suburban Washington, D.C. Fairfax County Public Schools . . .

Blankley: Public records, witness info not made public in Paxton impeachment trial
Dozens of exhibits have been admitted as evidence in the ongoing impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, but by the third day of the trial Thursday, none had been published on the state’s Court of Impeachment website. The court has not disclosed what types of records or evidence are included.
Six witnesses were sworn in as a group Wednesday by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, but none stated their names during the process. Patrick also did not state who they were. Their names, and no other witness names, have been listed on the impeachment website. Throughout the course of the trial so far, when attorneys refer to the exhibits, a copy of it displays on the tablet screens on each state senator’s desk, but there is no large screen for the general public or media to view them, nor is any description given to explain what the exhibit refers to. […] The Center Square asked Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s press office and the Secretary of the Senate if and when the information already introduced as a matter of public record will be posted on the Court of Impeachment website and did not receive a response. Patrick is presiding over the trial.

Vespa: Dems in South Side, Chicago Are Getting a Little Racist Over the Illegal Alien Issue
In Chicago, tensions over the migrant crisis boiled over in June, and they haven’t subsided. Based on the liberal media’s reporting and other narratives constructed by the Left on this issue, it would seem South Side Chicago’s residents are getting a little racist over the illegal alien invasion. And by racist, I mean voicing well-reasoned and mainstream concerns about people who shouldn’t be here being dumped into this part of the city. “We are at war, people,” said one concerned citizen while a woman was incensed that people who have never lived here are being overly compensated while their needs in the community have fallen by the wayside. “We need to be taken care of first and foremost before anything else happens here,” she added.

The host of the Megyn Kelly Show, shared the news in a Twitter video, announcing that the in-person interview will air next Thursday at noon on SiriusXM. Kelly expressed her enthusiasm, assuring viewers that the interview would be nothing short of captivating. ‘I’m really looking forward to this,’ she said in the video. ‘It’s going to be great, it’s going to be spicy, and it’s going to be tough, but it’s going to be good and hopefully, we’re both going to enjoy it.’ This interview marks their first on air conversation since May 2016 when their relationship was characterized by a heated feud that peaked during the 2015 Republican primary campaign.
Fenig: Country club hosts a ‘let’s play at being poor’ event for rich bored Chicago housewives
In a simulation that even NBC’s failing SNL would reject as too unbelievable to air, residents of Highland Park, Illinois, an upper middle class, upper wealthy suburb of Chicago, had an opportunity to play “let’s pretend we’re poor” with an “immersive experience” aimed at showing participants what a month in poverty feels like, according to the city’s posting. From a report by NBC Chicago: . . . […] Now, many residents of Highland Park are only a generation or two removed from their ancestors’ poverty. Unsurprisingly, this artificial, virtue-signaling, feel good “poverty simulation” marketed as an “immersive experience” offered the willing participants no backstory as to what factors may have contributed to a poverty lifestyle—e.g., substance abuse, unmarried parenthood, fiscal irresponsibility—instead they were passive victims through no fault of their own and with no power to improve. Sponsored by the usual array of feel-good welfare organizations such as Family Focus and the Alliance for Human Services, these (and similar charities) absorb government and charity dollars to support top heavy “social service” administrative and social work personnel who unconsciously attempt to prolong their clients’ poverty to justify their continued professional existence. Adding to the unreality, . . .

You voluntarily gave out a combination over a warrant, per your own release, that didn’t apply to you or your property. Maybe start marketing your stuff as Bud Light storage.”
Schemmel: FACT CHECK: Is the Abbott Administration Closing Libraries as Part of Its Houston Public School Revamp?
Claim: Texas Republican governor Greg Abbott’s administration is closing libraries and turning them into disciplinary centers as part of a state intervention into Houston’s chronically underperforming public school system. Who said it: A slew of left-wing media outlets, including the New York Times. In an Aug. 13 piece headlined “Texas Revamps Houston Schools, Closing Libraries and Angering Parents,” the Times wrote that Abbott’s administration fired librarians and “effectively close[d] libraries in some of the city’s poorest schools,” a move the paper suggested would hurt minority students and families.
Why it matters: Houston’s public schools are lagging far behind those in the rest of the state in reading and math scores. The state’s intervention aims to reverse that trend, and if the effort is successful, it will provide a blueprint for struggling schools in Texas and elsewhere. Context: Texas in 2015 passed a law by Rep. Harold Dutton Jr.—a black Democrat who has represented Houston in the State Legislature for nearly four decades—that requires the state’s education agency to intervene in failing school districts. If a public school receives a failing grade on its academic performance for five consecutive years, the Texas Education Agency must appoint a new board of managers for the school district. […] Mike Miles, is tasked with implementing a revamped education plan to improve reading and math scores in the 28 elementary and middle schools that feed into Wheatley High School and other struggling schools.
Analysis: Central to Miles’s plan to improve academic performance are so-called team centers, which the superintendent describes as spaces “for an individual learning environment.” At “team centers”—located in libraries and large classrooms not used for traditional class instruction—students receive . . .

Archaeologists in Jerusalem have reportedly unearthed steps descending into the Pool of Siloam, where Biblical records show Jesus Christ healed a blind man over 2,000 years ago at one of the most significant heritage sites in the world. “It’s exciting to be a part of a story that’s bigger than ourselves — to be a part of bringing a story to life that has significance not for millions, but for billions,” Ze’ev Orenstein, director of international affairs for the City of David Foundation, told Fox News Digital. Krayden: Canada puts its prize political Freedom Trucker dissidents on trial for peacefully protesting Trudeau’s Covid mandates
Freedom Convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are charged with mischief, counseling others to commit mischief, intimidation and obstructing police as leaders of the Freedom Convoy that polarized residents of Ottawa in February 2022 and arguably began to rollback COVID-19 mandates. It was ironic on this first day of the proceedings that there was a group of university students outside of the Ontario Provincial courthouse seeking donations for a charity associated with the Shriners. The kids were encouraging the drivers of the cars passing by to honk their horns and voice their support for the cause. It was the honking of course that caused some in Ottawa to apparently go mad during the late January to mid February protest of 2022. People claimed the truckers who came to town and parked their rigs on Wellington St. in front of Parliament Hill were honking all night long. As someone who stayed all night long for the protest in the sub-zero temperatures of an Ottawa winter, I can tell you that the truckers did not continue to blast their horns way past midnight. They went to sleep. We heard the usual drivel on Tuesday from the Crown prosecutor, one Tim Radcliffe who had the gall to suggest this trial had nothing at all to do with the political opinions of Lich and Barber but had everything to do with their allegedly dangerous “means.” He claimed their protest was “anything but peaceful.” Well, let’s just stop there for a minute for a realty check.
(Canada) Billingsley: Trans Travel Guide
“Some states have enacted laws and policies that may affect 2SLGBTQI+ persons,” the Canadian government is advising. These 2SLGBTQI+ persons “could face certain barriers and risks when you travel outside Canada,” particularly in the USA.
“2S” means “Two-Spirit,” a term that “reflects complex Indigenous understandings of gender roles, spirituality, and the long history of sexual and gender diversity in Indigenous cultures.” According to the Canadian government, 2SLGBTQI+ “recognizes Two-Spirit people as the first 2SLGBTQI+ communities.”
LGBTQ are, respectively, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer. “I” means “intersex” and “considers sex characteristics beyond sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and + is “inclusive of people who identify as part of sexual and gender diverse communities, who use additional terminologies.” This ever-increasing aggregation of letters, numbers and symbols comes billed as an acronym. It is actually a construct, in a special kind of way. […] “Trans violent militancy is the current focus of #Antifa,” contends journalist Andy Ngo. “They believe that critics of trans ideology should be silenced, maimed or murdered. Some call for sexual violence against females in particular, as revenge.” A travel advisory would be better suited for places where transifa terror is likely to strike, not places that recognize biological reality. At this point in history, Canada isn’t one of those.
