Kevin McCarthy (R- Calif) House Minority Leader at the U.S. – Mexico border: I came down here because I heard of the crisis. It’s more than a crisis. This is a human heartbreak. The sad part about all this is it didn’t have to happen. There’s no other way to [call] it than a Biden Border crisis.

Leo Terrell Civil Rights attorney blasted the Democrat COVID bill (American Rescue Plan) signed into law by President Biden: I fought for equality and what the Democrats have done with this bill, they have turned the farming industry — I want everyone of your viewers to understand what happened. Goodenough: Delivering on Trump’s Vision, First Majority-Muslim Country Opens Embassy in Israel’s Capital
A Trump administration vision moved ahead on Sunday when Kosovo became the first majority-Muslim country to open an embassy in Jerusalem, the city which President Trump in 2017 formally recognized as Israel capital despite broad international opposition. The move came on the same day the Palestinian Authority, Arab League and Turkish government all protested the decision by the Czech Republic to open a diplomatic office in Jerusalem.

The list of the six Republicans facing redistricting includes: . . . Jason Miller, Trump’s political adviser, told Bloomberg, “Quite frankly, between their newfound unpopularity with Republican primary voters and based on what could happen with redistricting, I think a large number of these House members will be forced into retirement or looking for another job,” he said.

Klugewicz: The American Republic & the Long Shadow of Rome
“Beware the Ides of March!” Thus the soothsayer warned Emperor Julius Caesar on the 15th of March, 44 B.C. On that day, Caesar, who had overturned the Roman republic and made himself a tyrant, was assassinated by a group of Senators, including his friend, Brutus. In the eponymous play by William Shakespeare, the Senators begin to stab Caesar, who tries to resist the assault until he sees Brutus also wielding a knife against him. “Et tu, Brute?” Caesar utters in disbelief before collapsing. The figure of Brutus—the assassin of the tyrant—has cast a long shadow over American history. “Brutus” became the pseudonym of one of the most famous Antifederalist authors (probably Robert Yates of New York), who wrote essays in opposition to the proposed Constitution of 1787, which he believed dangerously consolidated power in the central government. In setting up their own republic, the American Founders looked to the Roman Republic as a model for what they should be and to the Roman Empire embodied by Caesar as a portent of what they feared the republic could become. Americans feared that liberty was fragile and that the republic could be undone by the ambition of one man.

Gonzales: The Left’s New Constitution
A raft of new legislation seeks to enshrine racial preferences into American society. The recently enacted Covid-19 relief law and other bills wending their way through Congress openly favor members of certain races or ethnic categories. It’s hard to see how any of this legislation—all part of the Biden-Harris administration’s new focus on racial “equity” at the expense of equality—passes constitutional muster. That doesn’t mean that the courts will strike them down. We have today a new, unwritten constitution—a hodgepodge of executive orders, court decisions, legislation, and conventions. Of course, we already have a written Constitution, drafted in 1787 and amended since. The cognitive dissonance of living under these two constitutional regimes is thus causing friction across society. Consider the Emergency Relief for Farmers of Color Act, a $5 billion monstrosity that Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock snuck into the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The bill aims to provide payments to “Black farmers, Indigenous farmers, and farmers of color.” It includes $1 billion to address “systemic racism” at the Department of Agriculture. […] And Warnock’s bill is not the only farm bill explicitly channeling money to black Americans. There is also New Jersey senator Cory Booker’s Justice for Black Farmers Act. It creates a USDA agency that would buy land and grant it to eligible Black farmers. It also establishes a “Socially Disadvantaged Farmer and Rancher Bank.” […] It doesn’t stop with agriculture. Consider . . .
[NOTE: In both Farmer bills “color” does not include White farmers.]

Thornton: Federalism Under Siege
. . . no serious investigation was conducted to establish empirically whether or not the election was fairly decided. What makes this negligence more galling is that H.R. 1 exists at all. If, as we keep hearing, the election was won fair and square, and there was not enough fraud to change the outcome despite the razor-thin margins in some swing states, why this bill now? Having just presumably demonstrated that fraud was negligible, why legalize the “worst changes in election rules” that will make the already substantial risk from, say, mail-in ballots, even greater? Of course we know the answer to that question.
[…] But let’s not forget the larger aim, one progressivism has been pursuing since Woodrow Wilson. The whole Constitutional architecture has been the target of those who favor concentrated and centralized power instead of the divided and balanced powers of the Constitution. The progressives . . .

Bill Maher: ‘Never Ending Woke Competition’ Is Destroying America, We’ve Already ‘Lost’ To China
Left-wing HBO host Bill Maher slammed the “never ending woke competition” that is engulfing America, warning that it has turned Americans into a “silly people” and that China is “eating our lunch” as a result. “And finally, new rule, you’re not gonna win the battle for the 21st century if you are a silly people and Americans are a silly people,” Maher said on his show “Real Time” on Friday. “That’s the classic phrase from Lawrence of Arabia when Lawrence tells his Bedouin allies that as long as they stay a bunch of squabbling tribes, they will remain a silly people. Well, we’re the silly people now. You know who doesn’t care that there’s a stereotype of a Chinese man in a Dr. Seuss book? China. All 1.4 billion of them could give a Crouching Tiger flying f**k … because they’re not a silly people.” “In two generations, China has built . . .

Lifson: The Chinese TV commercial that the NBA doesn’t want its players to see
I would wager that the NBA’s management does not want its players to see the following Chinese television commercial in which a Chinese woman shoves a Black man into a washing machine after feeding him a laundry detergent tablet, where the advertised product magically (and violently) washes the blackness out of the man – to the delight of the woman. He comes out Chinese (not White), of course.

Baker: Schweizer: China’s Influence on U.S. Government a ‘Massive Problem’
Schweizer said China is attempting to influence the United States. He argued it is a “massive problem” because “there are a lot of people in Washington” in a position to reform the Asian superpower who are also “being cozy with Beijing.” “If you’re going to have a competition with the United States, why not try to effectively decapitate part of the leadership by co-opting them? You can co-opt them in the old-fashioned Cold War ways of, you know, sexual honey traps, so to speak; you can also do it by giving . .

Charles Hurt: Welcome to the White Privilege Presidency
Washington really is the last nakedly racist place in America. And the very face of this city’s institutional racism is President Biden himself. Welcome to the White Privilege Presidency. Mr. Biden is living proof that no matter how dumb you are or how wrong you have always been or how many things you have screwed up, if you are just White enough and willing to wait around long enough accomplishing nothing, the kingship will eventually be yours. This is a guy who had been rejected by voters — often in his own party — in his endless quest for the presidency many times during his five decades running his mouth in Washington. It was only when a gifted political outsider needed an old White guy for a running mate that Mr. Biden’s ticket to the White House finally got punched.
